lynch_me 11-24-2006 06:46 PM

Eh, I don't find that hard. Tempting maybe, but there is always something else. Tofurky!

Oh, I don't really find it tempting.
But uh, I've had Tofuturkey.
It's gross.

pedro durruti 11-24-2006 07:04 PM

There's nothing wrong with eating turkey for thanksgiving.

The Ska Man 11-24-2006 10:50 PM

I don't I ever introduced myself, soooo..here it goes..

Name's Vince, I'm not really new to punk, but I'm still learning quite a bit. I like a lot of ska (mostly 3rd wave, but I'm getting into second right now, and first eventually) and Oi!, street punk, too..I also dig a lot of proto-punk. I dislike Crass for no good reason.

You make no sense.

Brain Toad 11-24-2006 11:31 PM

My aunt went veggie two years ago, did fine through 2 Thanksgivings. Even with all of us making fun of her.

Funniest thing eva said by Nick Nackolas.

DaveToopes 11-25-2006 12:03 AM

Meat isn't really that tempting to me anymore. On Thanksgiving I made my own food and it was all real swell!

pedro durruti 11-25-2006 12:18 AM

Why won't you guys eat turkey on Thanksgiving?

Flagjacket 11-25-2006 12:19 AM

I had a delicious slice of turkey at Thanksgiving. Turkey is my favorite type of meat year round anyway.

1. I don't care for rubbish traditions!
2. We had pork anyways.

Flagjacket 11-25-2006 12:47 AM

Pork is my second favorite!

The Ska Man 11-25-2006 12:53 AM

I find pork utterly disgusting..I've gagged and puked at it a lot..Same with bannanas..can't smell one without gagging..a lot. But I looove turkey, it's my favorite meat thing..

Flagjacket 11-25-2006 12:56 AM

I love bananas! except when outside of the window of perfection, where it's not unripe and not rotten.

Why didn't you eat the pork? Did you ever like pork?

Matt, who's that in your avatar? Is it you?

Liebensaft 11-25-2006 01:17 AM

Ethan's a vegetarian. As am I. I just ate all of the side dishes I could. I really didn't care about not having turkey.

pedro durruti 11-25-2006 01:24 AM

Both of you do it for moral reasons, right? What's immoral about eating meat (tasty meat) that will be eaten no matter what, and will not be replaced by another turkey?

Flagjacket 11-25-2006 01:31 AM

Peter, Ethan hopes that by doing so he will set a positive example for others, and hopefully by being the change he wishes to see in the world that the world will come around.

You're not getting anywhere with that as much as vegetarians are.

The basic ideology of the vegetarian has always been that by not eating meat, they prevent big meat producers from making as much money as they would if the said vegetarian was buying meat products from them. Now, of course the amount of money that businesses who sell meat are losing out on when I don't buy from them is virtually meaningless. And if the meat is already purchased, it's either getting eaten or thrown out, so I might as well put it to use, right?

I like to think that, regardless of how insignificant I am in terms of income for big meat companies, I'm still doing something. I'd be thrilled if other people agreed with me and followed, but I'm not about to argue with anyone about what they should and shouldn't put in their bodies. I don't have the authority to do so. Eating meat is a personal decision, and I simply choose not to.

honkybrewster 11-25-2006 02:06 AM

I eat meat because I think killing vegetables is wrong. And cause broccoli makes me fart.

Anxious 11-25-2006 02:07 AM

Exactly! You gotta eat them when they're perfect. I hate when they're beginning to bruise and rot. It's disgusting.

Brain Toad 11-25-2006 03:35 AM

Bananas are only good in PB and banana sandwiches.
I'm not a huge fan of turkey, except turkey legs. We had both turkey and ham this year, which was a first. Ham wasn't very good though, usually my grandma makes awesome ham.

AndreTheHyena 11-25-2006 06:15 AM

I had hot dogs and beer for Thanksgiving, and didn't see a single family member which, I must admit (despite being a jaded and cynical anarchististic old man) was a little depressing. I didn't pay for the hot dogs, though. I'm freegetarian. I listen to Amebix.

Fregetarians ftw.

Do you get Fresh'n'Wild in the States? They have awesome skips. I wish I could dine on Innocent smoothies and various sandwiches and falafels every day. Although throwing vegetables in a pot with some spices and rice is usually nicer, and better for you. And samosas.

DaveToopes 11-25-2006 11:30 AM

I loooooooove samosas.

Liebensaft 11-25-2006 12:48 PM

Good afternoon.

Danger Bird 11-25-2006 01:09 PM

Is the Bad Brains DVD any good? Is that a stupid question?
