What a tool, ruining the professor's day (and probably suit) with that kind of ****.
|
That sucks, wonder what pushed him over the edge.
Maybe his professor wasn't impressed with the amount of skill required to play Carousel. |
 @ left-field Carousel reference.

so, ive been trying to do new music lately and it just isnt happening. im drained after 3 albums in the past year (cuss, tactus a and starsmog)
so instead i'm starting on what i've always wanted to do a spoken word album/book. i've got most of the ideas for it, all the monologues - and I've just started organizing them and committing them to writing today. hopefully it'll be LoLz, entertaining, and interesting for people to really hear how I understand and see the world through my sordid, hateful, ****ed up eyes. i think im a fairly competent orator and communicator, and i have all the equipment to produce such tracks here. no ****ing webcam ranting either these are honed, condensed essays which ive been cultivating over the course of five years |
oh and yesterday i had the privilege of talking with one of the assistant US attourneys who is working on the Blagojevich case in chicago
very, very interesting |

Simple & Elegant. EDIT: Wow, MX doesn't like the size of that. Made it all pixelated. |
That your band? Decent poster, man.
|
Yeah, not bad at all.
That your band? Decent poster, man.
Yeah. Thanks, you guys. We're printing it on the back of our show fliers so that people can see more than just our name amongst other bands on a flier. It's cool because our vocalist has a degree (an associates, but a degree nonetheless) in marketing and has spent a good amount of time doing graphic design. It's going to help the band tremendously. |
We're jamming with a real drummer sometime this week, I believe. Finally.

I love jamming with a drummer - especially when you two start to click and just get a read off of each other. |
Tbqh, I read more off of my guitar players than anything else.

It's different for everybody, and depending on the group I'm with, I get a different feel for different people. Like in my high school jazz band, I clicked best with an alto sax and the piano. Are you jamming with guitars and drums or just you and drums? |
Full band jam. Myself, and the two guitarists.

I always have a lot of trouble with those unless a chord progression or riff is agreed upon prior to jamming. Otherwise it turns into "1-hour solo" time. |

Right you are Johnny. In other news. I just sliced my finger open when trying to remove old candles from their... uhhmm... holder... things. I was twisting the knife to crack the wax and it folded closed onto my finger. Yup, I'm an idiot. |
^if it's on your fretting hand finger, put a little bit of salt and vinegar on your strings. it degrades the strings a little quicker but it makes the wound heal faster and hurt less when you play it
|
Nah, index finger on plucking side. Right down the side too.
Should be fine. And still, why in gods name would I put salt and vinegar on perfectly good strings? |
Idk, but it sounds like you could eat your strings after such an affair. Salt & Vinegar...yumm...
|
I actually hate salt&vinegar. Horrid combination. No offense to you UKers, but I must quote Jim Gaffigan on this one:
...Vinegar...Vinegar is the British ketchup. How bad is your food when adding vinegar improves it? You know what I use vinegar for? Cleaning windows. "The British are our only allies...why would he be so reckless?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG2eEqZ6M-s
|

This is actually really impressive. I dig his tone too. Very consistent. Look at the way he sweeps too...it's strange. Fingers on the upstrokes, thumb on the downstroke. |
sounds like supermario or something.

Yes it's been a while. But I have a story that's quite mind-boggling.
I moved to Toronto in September from Ottawa. Went to an open R&B jam on Monday for shits. Oddly enough I'd never done it before. Go up on stage, improv for 10 minutes, get off and say "that was fun, I could get used to this". Sit down, and hear the owner/organizer of the bar say to someone behind me "CK, are you not going up tonight?" I didn't hear what 'CK' had said, all I noticed was that he had a Scottish accent. If you've been here long enough, you can see where this is going... but the bottom line is, I moved to Toronto less than 2 months ago, went to a bar I've never been to before on a night with 20-30 people inside, turned around to someone I'd battled in slap competitions and composed with, but never met in my life, and got to say "Hey Coffeekiller. I'm bass_guy333". You cant make this **** up. |
no way dude!!
haha |
That's sick, dude.
BG, how ya been, bro? |
When you introduced yourself to him did you pronounce the underscore?
|
That's funny. A couple of weeks ago I saw an ad on Craigslist posted by a CK, and I thought it must be him. Now, confirmation.
Want to hang out? |
Yeah, I knew CK was there, I talk to him a fair amount, but that's pretty crazy! He's a great guy to hang with, you'll enjoy yourself with him :)
