Stormrider 10-21-2007 05:55 PM

Override the Overture is amazing.

Deth 10-21-2007 05:57 PM

My floormates apparently don't feel that way though :p

C.O.A. 10-21-2007 10:57 PM

they will soon come to their wits and praise all that is Dismember!!!

Hmmm I finally got into Pierced From Within by Suffocation, don't know why I didn't like it before.

Anyway, anyone like Anata?

The Conductor's Departure is one of the best tech death releases I've ever heard.

Tyler 10-21-2007 11:07 PM

Anata rules. Their drummer reminds me of Neil Peart for some reason.

publicastration 10-21-2007 11:10 PM

Hmmm I don't listen to Rush so I wouldn't know.

He is a sick drummer though.

Tis a gud album.

C.O.A. 10-22-2007 06:37 PM

anata is dope. one of the few good tech death bands imo.

NemesisDivina 10-22-2007 06:37 PM

Yeah, Pierced From Within is a really good album, but I still say that Effigy is better. And yeah, Conny Petterson is a fantastic drummer. He actually incorporates his double kicks nicely instead of just pounding away.

Is Under A Stone With No Inscription and the others before Conductor's Departure worth checking out?

Tyler 10-22-2007 06:59 PM

Yes. They arent as good, though. They're a little rawer and a lot less interesting.

start listening to rush now.

Eliminator 10-22-2007 08:26 PM

rush suck

Tyler 10-22-2007 08:28 PM

I like 2112 and half of Moving Pictures.

RiceMonster 10-22-2007 08:29 PM

I like a bunch of Rush songs. They're a good band overall.

Deth 10-22-2007 08:47 PM

I listened to 3 hours of Rush on a road trip last weekend with friends and by all accounts it was progtastic goodness.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2007 09:50 PM

Rush is killer

Apocalyptic Raids 10-22-2007 10:43 PM

I have never heard any Rush.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2007 11:03 PM

lol

Invicta_Veritas 10-22-2007 11:18 PM

I find Rush respectable yet unlistenable.

In other words, talented, but I can't fucking stand the music.

C.O.A. 10-23-2007 12:34 AM

rush is cool in my book.

Riva 10-23-2007 12:39 AM

Rush is okay, but there are a few prog rock bands that I enjoy more. No points for guessing what they are though. :p

Apocalyptic Raids 10-23-2007 01:06 AM

Oh I remember now, you're the big King Crimson fan right?

Riva 10-23-2007 01:18 AM

No, Kage is. But yeah, I like King Crimson quite a bit also. Other correct answers would have been Richard Wright or Mike Oldfield (in addition to Pink Floyd, of course).
