metallica is coming to MCI Center in DC, anyone wanna give me tickets???

leomondaine 10-11-2004 08:58 AM

Wow, metallica whooped my ASS for 3 hours last night, it was awesome, they played The 4 Horsemen, Fight Fire With Fire, Disposible Heros, Seek and Destroy, and tons more. They had these freakin huge explosives go off all over the stage for the army sound effects for One, it was so big i allmost got toasted lol

Shred Danson 10-11-2004 09:11 AM

^ Nice, dude. I think they're coming to Anaheim in a few weeks, I can't wait!

Squirrel 10-11-2004 09:14 AM
u have gotta be kidding me dude.. .. Im no noob guitarist. Im a lead guitarist in my band and recently I just masterd master of puppets solo(took me 3 weeks). But im still far from completing metallica whole songs as it will take like every 1-2 weeks to master every solo.
Wow, arent you amazing.

You're obviously a guitar noob because you believed that calling yourself the lead guitarist of your band made you good.

That and the fact you can *play* the 2nd MoP solo, which if you'd heard any real guitaring, youd notice is crap.

metallica rocks my socks

HeRoOfThEdAy1589 10-11-2004 07:29 PM

sorry for the double post BUT

for anyone who likes sum 41. they're new album is heavvvyyyyyyyyy!
this one song on there called, "the bitter end". i swear it a tribute to metallica, because the song sounds just like battery; the solos sound a like the way the dude sings from sum 41 sings his lyrics like metallicas, and the guitar work is a lot like that which of batterys. really cool

MajikalLix 10-11-2004 08:08 PM

..I don't miss you...
I don't think we've ever met.and I don't know why everybody says it sounds like battery..I don;t think it's even close.

drummin_666 10-11-2004 08:23 PM

you must be on crack if you think it DOESN'T sound like battery.
The intro kinda sounds like ST ANGER. then the riff after that sounds like the intro riff to THROUGH THE NEVER. Then it sounds totally like BATTERY. the solo is almost identical. there is a part in there that sounds like blackened as well.

clown_phobia 10-12-2004 02:46 AM

well sum41 said they are trying to make their new album sound like master of puppets.

wingnut0021 10-12-2004 06:38 AM

The mere thought is laughable!

Heavy0metal0freak 10-12-2004 03:55 PM

correct me if im wrong but i though sum 41 was a pop punk band?

DeeDeeRamone 10-12-2004 03:59 PM
correct me if im wrong but i though sum 41 was a pop punk band?
yeah they are

HeRoOfThEdAy1589 10-12-2004 04:22 PM

i dont think they're that much punk now, they're more rock/metal. but how the h*ll could you say that it doesnt sound like battery? i listened to both songs back to back last night, they sound a lot alike......i just dont hear the st.anger at the begining, i can hear the threw the never part. great song. even the way sum 41's singer sings the song sounds like hetfield when he sings battery

HeRoOfThEdAy1589 10-12-2004 04:24 PM

through the never..not threw the never, sorry.

tallica rocks my socks

HeRoOfThEdAy1589 10-12-2004 04:26 PM

I love METALLICA as much as the next guy, but jesus christ man, those were all usless and obvious post. C'mon now.
And quit quadruple posting:mad:

swedelead 10-12-2004 05:31 PM

I hate how people call Sum 41 pop-punk still this new album and does this look infected are alot more rock and metal influenced. So you gotta respect the band for trying to make some credible decent music. I pity them because they will always be known for the ****ty song they did in their early career. :amaze:

NoHandsGymnist 10-12-2004 07:21 PM
amen

can someone suggest more songs from metallica that are decent besides

master of puppets
fade to black
the one
enter sandman
the unforgivin

i know there is more, those are just the ones im familiar with:)
The name of the 3rd song is One not the one and Nothing Else Matters, For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Unforgivin II, Turn the Page, Enter Sandman, The Call of Ktulu, Seek and Destroy, Battery, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), and Ride the Lightning are the best Metallica songs. All of them are great, though.

The Bell Tolls 10-13-2004 05:57 AM

uhhh maybe

Shred Danson 10-13-2004 08:59 AM

...wow, is this an Official Metallica Thread or a is Sum 41 metal or not thread?

(58th official post of the week out of an attempted 3000)

CreepingBlack 10-13-2004 09:22 AM

sum 41 is a unique band, because they are pretty popular, yet they have metal influences, and punk influences that come out in their music.

ice cold metalligirl 10-13-2004 02:26 PM

i f***ing love metallica! :thumb:
i just had to say that.
when i was about 10 i liked sum 41 i think i had their first album, they were definetly pop-punk. but i haven't heard their new stuff.
if it's anything like metallica it must be good

HerOtic 10-13-2004 05:02 PM
