Stockholme Syndrome is amazing. The best song from S/T definately.

form 05-02-2006 03:08 PM

For me its either that, or Asthenia, not sure.

punkrocker-182 05-02-2006 05:19 PM

Yeah those are the two best songs on ST...

form 05-02-2006 10:07 PM

First of all, lol at that post.

But I don't know, who cares about what other people think about music you like/listen to.

You confuse me.

blink may not have much musical talent, but the way that Tom and Mark trade off in some songs is really cool and like Mattay said, they are really catchy.

And don't always go with what other people say. If you like a band, defend it for Christ's sake.

punkrocker-182 05-02-2006 11:50 PM

I Like All Catchy Stuff More Than Talent, I mean if there's talent in the catchy stuff i might like it, but thats why i like punk-rock because i don't care much for solos and what not.

Bad Blood 05-03-2006 12:57 AM

They're so good because they're pop punk, and they know how to do that so so well.

Pop punk isn't complicated, it's simple, but when some of the chords sequences are really effective. Plus, Tom and Mark's singing and lyrics are always to do with growing up and whatenot, in early-er blink, they sing about what probably all teenagers think. Plus their sense of humor, they never hold back in songs or anything. It's probably just my oppinion, but Blink is mainly effective because of it's vocals.

poo-poo-pee-pee 05-03-2006 02:46 AM

I agree with that.
I first got into blink coz Tom's voice gave me an erection...
I then discovered a love for Mark's singing.
They are, by far, my favourite vocalists ever. And they are both in the same band! Well, were...
I'm sure ALOT of people disagree with me, but I love 'em both.
Oh, and Travis adds some pretty sweet, and interesting beats to thier songs.
Which makes it more fun to listen to.

Surtr 05-03-2006 04:16 AM

I'm listening to Man Overboard :)

itsallfake 05-03-2006 07:48 AM

I hate to burst everybody's bubble, but I saw AVA at Earls Court in London a couple days ago and they blew. Delonge came across like some delusional rock star, and bored 3/4 of the arena to sleep. While they did actually play, they also played to loops and loops of recorded material, including some vocals. At one point Delonge turned his back on the mic and you could still hear his vocals, and I'm not talking about echo or delay. I'm not a hater. I like Blink a lot and wish Tom all the best; but he needs to come back down to earth and realize that he is a mere mortal.

Bad Blood 05-03-2006 09:58 AM

Heh, who cares?

At GIAN they were awesome apparently.

chumpradio 05-03-2006 10:45 AM

They were amazing at GIAN.
Tom's solo rendition of Down as an intro to The Adventure was so good.

Untitled 05-03-2006 11:03 AM

I cant wait to see them, but, im not expected loads from them tbh.

Hmm.. he sounds a bit retarded a bit more into the song, but his singing has improved a hell of a lot.

wow, Tom sucks live, compared to other live vids/tracks I've heard from Blink.

Plus the whole beginning I got bored...

I wouldn't wanna see them live if it were like that :-/

Yes. They were.

Bad Blood 05-04-2006 10:15 AM

Who else thinks that a lot of the breakdowns in AVA sound really similar?

I find that the drummer uses a lot of the same technique in the breakdowns.

Anybody ever been/go here?

Its Marks own podcast, I just saw it today, but am too lazy to use it.

So I thought I'd post it.

Breakdowns? haha.

"apparently" is the key word. i was there and they sucked bad. they put everybody to sleep. Tom thinks he's the greatest thing to ever happen to music and I really think he's delusional. i can understand wanting to distance himself as much as possible from Blink, but trying to come across as God's gift to music is almost as comical as the bathroom humor that he espoused while in that band.

punkrocker-182 05-05-2006 11:39 PM
Yes. They were.
Wasn't that video @ the GIAN or not?

Bad Blood 05-06-2006 02:25 AM
Breakdowns? haha.
I couldn't find a better word to describe it.

Know what I mean though? The drummer uses a lot of the same rhythm in a lot of the bits where it's slower I guess. Plus he always goes into using his toms and bass the same way.

And yes, that video was at GIAN.

I see where your coming from. I thought the same with the Boxcar Racer album, alot of the bridges sound kinda similar. Its the only negative I can say for the Boxcar album though.

Just ordered my AVA tickets for the 14th of June:cool:
