Darkness 06-01-2005 05:31 PM

I was going to... but I saw no point. Travis Barker... gimmi a break.

Moses 06-01-2005 05:32 PM
I thought this may be of interest to some of you guys. It's a Tool theme for your compy. I haven't DLed it for my self, but I figured some of you may be interested.

LMPH-Still looking for your real name so I don't have to acronymate your s/n. As for your question, not much has happened. Rob uploaded the guitar to Ænema and Ben mix'd it. Ben also uploaded all of The JoZ's bass tracks into a ZIP file on page 342, in case you were interested in that. There was also lots of APC talk. Kurrpt uploaded all of amotion, I beleive. (Not sure why it took him 10 posts to do so, but hey, whatever.)
Well, my real name is Nojus, but Dancin' Man calls me Moses because of my sn so call me what you want. Ok, well I found a track for Part of Me with all the parts on it, so you may get some vocals for that soon enough. That is, if everyone gets out of the house.

Dried Muffin Remnants 06-01-2005 05:43 PM

Blah. They're completely different drummers. Danny Carey's music is 340979833985987x more complicated but Travis can beat the $hit out of a snare and has impressive solos. If only the guy would write some good music so he could show off his chops more.

Darkness 06-01-2005 05:50 PM

All he can do is hit the snare really fast, nothing else.

Dried Muffin Remnants 06-01-2005 05:51 PM

I saw a good solo by him. But he can't write good music, and that's a HUGE negative.

Magicaltroll 06-01-2005 05:56 PM
hey guys im a drummer and i want to do the track for the competition. i can play all of travisis licks but i havent heard any tool, but the drummer cannot be as good as travis barker.
I used to think he was godly too, don't worry.

I hope this is a gimmick...

Moses 06-01-2005 06:35 PM

Well here's a preview of my vocals. I couldn't do the whole song cuz my family got home :upset: .

Darkness 06-01-2005 06:37 PM

...Where is it...

Try up-loading the song :thumb:
I saw a good solo by him. But he can't write good music, and that's a HUGE negative.
Travis may play well with a snare drum, but Danny... oooooooooooooooohhh boy.. Danny tears it up on ALL of his drums... even his electric pads (Triad)
and a major plus is Danny can completely blow a simple 4/4 beat out of the water by writing around it with some wild time signatures and rhythms... the man is a genius.. best influence for drumming that I've ever had :)

Moses 06-01-2005 06:52 PM
...Where is it...
Sorry my computer got gay right when I was about to post it, and it somehow put my post up. Any way here it is......

I only sing like two lines.

Part of Me.
http://s34.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3RY6QYBG4HLO60I0Y8XVODL6J1

I used too much reverb.

Huber 06-01-2005 07:04 PM

I got a real copy of Undertow today. Woohoo!

Edit:

To the Travis Barker guy, Travis is a pretty good drummer, but don't be so ignorant and say he's better than someone you've never heard of. I think Danny Carey is better than Travis. Travis has done some great drumming with the Aquabats though, however it still doesn't touch anything Danny Carey has done IMO.

Moses 06-01-2005 07:19 PM

Why does this thread die almost right when I post?

Also, yeah Travis Barker is good and I've seen his solo's but Danny is a more accomplished drummer, and he's just a better drummer overall.

horseypie 06-03-2005 03:05 AM

speed drumming isnt as good as drumming in insane patterns like the fibonnaci sequence and putting crazy time signatures over things

Bolded for truth :p

Guitar tone is awesome though. The 'solo' has a different feel too.

Apart from sounding like you sang them from a well, your vox shows promise, it has the right feel for the song.

What equipment did you use to get that tone btw?

And Med: no news on the album, but the rumour of an August 17th release of a DVD too another boost with the rumoured album name becoming the rumoured DVD name
i havent found a TOoL song i couldnt play, whats the problem, what track?
The Grudge (that riff you were having trouble with replicating) , The Patient (although this is easier) it starts at [4:50] When I read the tab and then play it sounds completely fucked.

Although i have never really sat down to learn them, I spend like 20 mins on one song and when I don't get the rhythm right after a couple of shots, I just crack the shits and play other stuff...

Idiot Martyr 06-03-2005 06:43 AM
I think Eulogy could be applied to Bill Hicks, Ron L. Hubbard, and somehow (and some people believe this) it could be about Maynard himself... speaking in third person.. Though I think Ron L. Hubbard would be a prime choice because Aenima was the album that Maynard vented his anger about Hubbard... Like so on the title track "**** Ron L. Hubbard and **** all his clones.."

Bolded for truth.

clearvision 06-03-2005 06:43 AM

August 16th :p

Feels good to be back...

Vox were ok, need to be real agressive with that song though...I'll record aenima properly if i get a chance...

Who recorded the guitar for that part of me?

Woo snype!!!

/still in yesterdays mood :(

Adam Jones is GOD 06-03-2005 06:46 AM

I think i need to sort out a rehab thread. It seems to be happening to many of us.

And I couldnt remember the exact date. The next few months are a big cluster of dates and numbers that are important

(8th Septmember being the best so far, OPETH!)

kurrpt 06-03-2005 06:46 AM

i did. I was thinking about redoing it soon. Especially when i get my Mark IV

Adam Jones is GOD 06-03-2005 07:15 AM

Was that your recording he did vox for? It didnt sound the same somehow

clearvision 06-03-2005 07:57 AM

I'm actually so pissed that The mars volta are supporting SOAD. When SOAD's album came out i was like ehh they've got a great album, would've been a good concert to go to, but my firends couldn't make it....then the mars volta support :upset::angry:

The only thing that might better that combo, is if NiN and Tool tour together...or Fantomas support Tool. Or maybe Massive attack as tricky is in contact with the band.

:upset:

And i have forum lockup withdrawl symptoms :(

And lots of Bio work to do, and i haven't even started music yet and my exam is on monday :upset:

Adam Jones is GOD 06-03-2005 08:05 AM

I dotn think TMV are supporting on the UK leg though. Tickets are practically al gone now, same with NIN London dates.

clearvision 06-03-2005 08:15 AM

It sold out ages ago, hence my moaning.

And i think they are supporting at brixton, tonight, tomorrow and sunday...

o shi' there is still tickets left, soads site says so

Adam Jones is GOD 06-03-2005 08:17 AM

Ill see SOAD on Sunday anyway. TMV would have been a great bonus though.

And am I still hopeful that NIN will make a suprise apperance at Download?

clearvision 06-03-2005 08:18 AM

If they do, i will eat my hat...

I've been slating the download lineup for months, yet 1 band could change it all...who you gonna go see, in flames or sabbath?

Adam Jones is GOD 06-03-2005 08:23 AM

Sabbath. Though Reuben are on the 4th stage at the same time :(

The highlight bands of the weekend for me

Biffy Clyro (fanboy)
Megadave (just because)
InMe (See if they went the right way with their new stuff)
Napalm Death
Meshuggah
Mad Casule markets
Trivium (I like what im hearing from them)
Mastodon
Team Sleep
Slayer
SOAD

And those are just the bands im wanting to see. Loads more to check out who i've heard good things of.

I dont know why people are so critical of it, it still seems miles better than Reading/Leeds from a R&M point of view

clearvision 06-03-2005 08:32 AM

I was looking forward to reading, but my friend couldn't ge cash...

Manson
Incubus
Foo's (though their electric stuff on the enw album is pants)
Maiden
Kasabian
QOTSA
The mars volta?

I really don't like megadave, trivium are ok, but nothing too special...team sleep would be nice...

What way are you looking for inme to go?

Back towards firefly or more poppy like faster the chase?

clearvision 06-03-2005 08:33 AM

Oh and i think nightwish will be interesting, sorry for the double...I'm having withdrawl symptoms and my edit isn't working :(

Adam Jones is GOD 06-03-2005 08:39 AM
Back towards firefly or more poppy like faster the chase?
Towards the Crushed Like Fruit style of song writing. Faster The Chase is better than their bad tracks on the last album, but they are borderline on either getting really good with their writing, or just plain whiny crappy lyrics.

Im hoping to catch a glimpse of Nightwish and Lacuna Coil. And also, I wouldnt mind hearing what they sound like. :naughty:
