So, anyone heard any new song with a good bassline,? U2's new song has a cool basslin to it

nisakss 09-30-2004 10:42 AM
Ouch.
So I guess I need to take some spanish classes, cause Barcelona, here I come. Is it expensive to live there? If I can walk around naked whenever and wherever I want, then I'm pretty sure that's my home. Or Barcelona.
I used to go there before the adopted the euro currency, and it was cheap, although now I don't know, and from what I've heard Spain is becoming a very expensive country.

Mitchell Royce 09-30-2004 10:43 AM

Lately I really enjoy playing along to Old Dirty Bastard's "Baby, I got your Money". I bought the Superfly soundtrack by Curtis Mayfield, and the bass on teh entire Album kicks a$$. I love Soul.

nisakss 09-30-2004 10:46 AM

^^^Never heard of it, I'll check it out. At the moment I'm really enjoying playing Joe Satriani Cool No9. It has a groovy bassline.

Mitchell Royce 09-30-2004 10:59 AM

Now isn't Satriani of the opposing team. JK, that's when he was with Stu Hamm, right? Ohh, and a fair warning, Old dirty Bastard is rap, and the bassline is retardidly simple. But because I'm too lazy to learn anything, it's one of the few songs that I like to play along to.

nisakss 09-30-2004 11:13 AM

Don't worry, as far as I'm concerned simple lines are often the best ones, and the funnest to play.

Cool No. 9 is with Nathan East, that's why I'm able to play it.

supercalifragilistic 09-30-2004 11:18 AM
The one in your avatar is a musicman, he also used jazz basses on cali and has used spectors alot before BSSM.
thnx man, now i REALLY want to get a MM :thumb:

ShelBel 09-30-2004 11:20 AM

HOLY COW! I missed this and its already at 16 pages? GAH! I *so* suck.

nisakss 09-30-2004 11:25 AM

Hey Shel, nice seeing you. How have you been?

Mitchell Royce 09-30-2004 11:37 AM

So who here is exited about them debates tonight(or early morning in europe)? I have a feeling that this will end like it did with Gore agains Bush. The republicans will say Bush won, the Democrats say Kerry. This will be a good night of getting mad at the TV though(yes, I get mad at stuff that's on TV).

JamminOnMy4String 09-30-2004 11:39 AM

I hate them both, so I hope nader goes up there and beats the crap out of both them.. verbally and physically

Mitchell Royce 09-30-2004 11:51 AM

Actually, it's alwasy been my fantasy that Jim Lehrer(the debate leader) would turn into Satan and proclaim to the entire nation that the candidate who brings him the most people to hell before election, shall win the presidency. Then I'd like to see both candidates try and get the middle-american, christian swing voters.
But let's be real. Who'd you vote for: a power obsessed, warmongering Idiot or a confused, bass playing, "doesn't know what he stands for" Vietnam Vet.

Espbassor 09-30-2004 12:05 PM

mmm..Politics...yummy. I still haven't decided who I'm going to vote for, I should probably decide soon.

So um, yeah, my band has a show on the 9th at the championship in leymone. Playing with a bunch of other local bands, at a place made for giging, so we're pretty excited. We have a website in the works and recording (hopefully) coming up saterday. I say hopefully because our lead guitarist has a No Trespass warrant out on him at the school and thats where we planned on recording. Sooooo we don't know if thats going to happen :D

twopelu 09-30-2004 12:11 PM
Well ... good and bad. Good because I have been writing a lot of stuff. Bad ... well, I don't do vocals, and I don't want to collaborate with anyone, I want it to be 100% me, know waht I mean? So after I make a ton of new songs, I am gonna go through them, see which ones can stand without vocals ... and polish them up. I also plan to have a few bass only songs ... I have 1 done already and a couple mroe in the works. The other thing is, I really wouldn't have anyone to sell it to (or even give it for that matter ... ), so it would be mostly just to say that I did, know what I mean? yeah ... oh well, we'll see how it goes.

:amaze:
Im pretty much in the same situation...its a little annoying isnt it?

Now Im quite nervous cause tomorrow I have an autition (sp? how is it called?) with a band which has some albums and concerts so I HAVE TO be their bassist, Im working hard on their songs so Im sure theyll take me, I hope. Im also quitting my ex-band so...Im busy you know.

Tomorrow Ill tell you how it went... (OMG these days I feel I cant speak english any good, worst than ever...**** it!)

twopelu 09-30-2004 12:13 PM

How is it called the new songs of U2? , you know I love them¡

ShelBel 09-30-2004 12:31 PM
Hey Shel, nice seeing you. How have you been?
I'm good! Still recovering from drunken debauchery in New Orleans, but otherwise good. Disappointed in my trip to Guitar Center: I shall never again darken the door of the location in Roseville- they had a piss-poor selection of basses, and 5ers? Fughedabowdit!

Here's a funny pic of me dancing at a bar on Bourbon Street... I'm in the black and white t shirt... Gettin' DOWN with m'bad self!

Me and the hubby: Cafe duMonde at 1:00am

And another one of hubby and I: What is he doing? Biting my nose?

And the pics from Friday night are HERE.

We had a great deal of fun, as you can see. My hubby is a wild man! :D

Espbassor 09-30-2004 12:59 PM

The only thing I've come to like about Guitar Center here is the used section, which currently has a 5 string B series ESP that I'm thinking of picking up. If I'm lucky though, sam ash will still have the F series when I get my credit card.

Lifetime of debt, here I come!

FUNKNBASS 09-30-2004 01:27 PM

I have been starting to hate all the chain stores, none of the smaller or rarer brands. Plus there are 3 small guitar shops within driving distance.

:amaze: 09-30-2004 01:32 PM

Hey guys. I'm here.

:amaze:

Espbassor 09-30-2004 01:33 PM

And there was much rejoycing...

FUNKNBASS 09-30-2004 01:33 PM

Hey Luke.

Mitchell Royce 09-30-2004 01:35 PM

Shel, your New Orleans trip looked like great fun. Bourbon Street is something, isn't it. Anyways, the GC on Halsted in Chicago ain't so bad in my opinion. Every once in a while there's some great stuff. Some of teh smaller shops are full of a$$holes though. The vintage guitar shop on Clarke has the worst people behind the counter I've ever encountered. They make fun of you in your face, don't tend to their customers and they have a policy that if anyone plays longer half an hour in their shop, they charge you 50 bucks an hour for the rehearsel space. Pricks. Some other stores I've been to have been similar. I guess you must be over 30 to be taken seriously there.

Left Shoe 09-30-2004 01:37 PM

Left Shoe 09-30-2004 01:40 PM

im trying out for a tri state honor band , on clarinet though should be kinda fun.though it is tri state and they usually only take like 15 , id say my chances are decent of getting in. i had a friend or two do it and they made it , but im not as good as they are but im close and catching up

nisakss 09-30-2004 01:43 PM

Hey Shel, you sure look like you had fun in your trip. One hell of a party, where was it again, New Orleans?

I shall go there some day, with a lot of beans....btw, in what time of year is it when you give away neckless and stuff. I really enjoy generous people....

Espbassor 09-30-2004 01:47 PM
hes dating his teachers ^ :naughty:
I've never ever dated a teacher, and really never wanted to date older women. But since I started working, I've had really bad thoughts about my boss, she's like 40 something but is ultra-fit, with very long legs and a pretty face, and on top of it all, she has brains, tons of it. She's so sexy, and it's funny, cause after I've been talking to her, or whatever, I'm with my girlfriend and she seems so little, like so young. Almost a teen, and she's already 22!!!

But don't get me wrong, I love my girlfriend, it's just.... :naughty:

Espbassor 09-30-2004 02:06 PM

My ex broke up with me because she said she couldnt deal with the stress of school and me being a fair travel from her. So what does she do? Gets back with her ex, who is a known cheater, has cheated on her, whose BEST FRIEND even admits his a jerk who doesn't know how to treat a girl. BTW, he lives in the same area I do  x sideways 8

Ladies, if you read this, if you date a guy, and don't like him for whatever reason, TELL HIM THE EXACT REASON. This bull**** pisses me off!

FUNKNBASS 09-30-2004 02:06 PM

I have a date with my girl tomorrow, I cant wait. I havent seen her in like 4 days.

FUNKNBASS 09-30-2004 02:08 PM

I'll never have Homework again, ever.
