Metallicaman 10-09-2004 10:07 PM

for whome the bell tolls is also a badass song

metal_bassist 10-09-2004 11:29 PM
i agree with you, i always have to tune my guitar a little sharp when i play anything from Ride, its weird. It may be just the recording, Analog can be weird like that. so whats your theory anyways?
Well, Gav's theory is that seeing as they used floyd roses maybe they had them in the touring bus and it got tuned up half a step and they were playing and they were like "Oh dang, it's up half a step" and then they were like "Fuck it, it sounds good" but I don't know.

Warlock682 10-10-2004 12:00 AM

MetallicA 10-10-2004 12:32 AM

New question who can play the most metallica songs? I can play 19.

Battery
Master
Hit the Lights
Seek and destroy
And Justice for All
One
For Whom The Bell Tolls
Metal Militia
Enter Sandman
The Unforgiven
Fade to Black
Frantic
Some Kind of Monster
St. Anger
Blackened
Call of Ktulu
Nothing Else Matters
Jump in the Fire
The Four Horsemen

I have the crown as Metallica Champion.
Any one can challenge.
Maybe this could turn into a game.

CreepingBlack 10-10-2004 12:41 AM

I can play every song by Metallica. I won. Game over.

MetallicA 10-10-2004 12:43 AM

MetallicA 10-10-2004 12:44 AM

But still your five years older than me.

Paranoidd 10-10-2004 01:31 AM
No,they covered the entire MoP album with LaBrie.

Then on a seperate occasion MUCH earlier, they had Barney from Napalm Death.
Beat me to it.

I was going to say, if you listen to the MOP cover album, there is no way you mistake that voice for anyone other than LaBrie.

Squirrel 10-10-2004 02:39 AM

About RTL,I was talking to my music teacher and he said that the album ist tuned a half step up but just small bit sharp so it is just slightly out of tune

leomondaine 10-10-2004 01:22 PM

yeah it was probabbly just the crappy recording stuff they had made it sound a little sharp.

Badranger69 10-10-2004 01:56 PM

Yeah James was burnt by the pyro's in Montreal, they showed it on VH1's behind the music.

Sure he's a teacher and not a filthy drunkard who appears to know nothing about music ?

Metallica Rules 10-10-2004 04:12 PM

WTF you're not making any sense..
If you want to learn a Metallica song..*provided you're a noob guitarist*
Go learn some St.Anger.
It's easy and there's no solos in it to mess with your mind.

Metallica Rules 10-11-2004 08:29 AM

u have gotta be kidding me dude.. .. Im no noob guitarist. Im a lead guitarist in my band and recently I just masterd master of puppets solo(took me 3 weeks). But im still far from completing metallica whole songs as it will take like every 1-2 weeks to master every solo.

Metallica Rules 10-11-2004 08:32 AM

and if u say im not making any sense. When i ask for help, i was looking to see if anyone actually has the official tab book on metallica. There are some solos which sound right but isn't how kirk plays it. dude u should learn to comprehend people's conversation, b4 making any silly comments and not make conclusion to people being a noob guitarist or who so whatever.

Joe 10-11-2004 08:34 AM
Just learn Enter Sandman.
well if you wanna learn a metallica song, thats a popular riff you can learn. but when it comes to a skillful and difficult song to learn i would recommend Call of the Ktulu, Fade to Black, One, and Master of Puppets.

Joe 10-11-2004 08:36 AM

fade to black took me a month to master the solo, one has taken me a couple of weeks, call of the ktulu i haven't learned yet but it'll probably take awhile considering its a 9 minute instrumental.
