Not nearly as big in Europe until What's My Age Again came out there...

Their "breakout" song in the US was What's my Age Again but it was originally Dammit. Dammit wasn't nearly as big as What's My Age Again but that's when they were starting to become somewhat big about 4-5 years before What's My Age Again.
i was quite young too. i would know blink as early asd cheshire cat if they came out now. and their big single was all the small things not whats my age agiain over here.

Untitled 11-11-2006 05:29 PM

Yeah, ATST for me too, because of the whole them not taking off till then.

But i didnt realy care for them untill Take Off.

MattSharpIsCool 11-11-2006 05:41 PM

I didnt know about them until All The Small Things, and I didnt really start getting into them until Rock Show came out.

I was a late blooming Blink fan :upset:

But I didnt really get much into music period until about that time.

Oz Rembrandt 11-11-2006 05:46 PM

I always kinda enjoyed them, then went through a period of hating them just before the S/T came out. Then, a few months ago, I saw the video for First Date again. Damn those guys were good at what they did... and it made me laugh.

lunchforthesky 11-11-2006 08:28 PM

i liked them since all the small things. i bought enema of the state then dude ranch and have liked them ever since. i dont listne to them much anymore

cobert 11-11-2006 08:34 PM

THIS IS WHERE I BELONG

lunchforthesky 11-11-2006 08:37 PM

you think im different
but im the same and im wrong.

blink lyrics are usually crap, but they have a way of sticking with you

Pazz 11-11-2006 10:09 PM

Rock Show was the song that got me hooked.

cobert 11-11-2006 10:13 PM

I cant even remember when I started liking Blink, I just know I was mad young.

Same here, I think. TOYPAJ was my first blink-182 album.

I hated "All The Small Things" when it was a big hit. I'm not sure why, but I just wasn't into it at the time.

Not only has TOYPAJ the first Blink 182 CD for me to buy it was my first CD I bought. I remember asking my mom if I could buy it, and my sister getting mad at my mom for letting me buy a Parental Advisory CD when my mom would never have let her buy a CD like that when she was my age.

Mute Print 11-11-2006 10:50 PM

I had my grandma buy the CD for me. :p

Pazz 11-11-2006 10:53 PM

My mom refuses to buy me any CD that has Parental Advisory on the front of it now. So for Christmas my list has to consist of CDs that aren't Parental Advisory.

TheBigMachine 11-11-2006 11:53 PM

How old are you Matt?

That video is hysterical.

The girl on the bike is priceless.

Tom (mouths): "What the fuck?"

The Rock Show video is awesome, too. Suuuch funny guys.
blink lyrics are usually crap, but they have a way of sticking with you
See, some of them are pretty bad but that's why they're sooo good. Some of the lyrics are REALLY introspective though, like Adam's song.

"I never conquored, rarely came. Tomorrow held such better days."

^ A play on words of "I came, I saw, I conquored."

He's saying he never conquored (got to do something great that requires a lot of planning and energy, something that's almost king-like at what he does) and, beyond that, he barely even "came," much, which is the first step to greatness.

I like the lyrics. :D
I cant even remember when I started liking Blink, I just know I was mad young.
Same here. My cousin got me into Blink around when Dude Ranch had JUST come out, so I was listening to Chesire Cat and Dude Ranch when I was in like 2-6th grade. Then I'm pretty sure Enema of the Stata came out (when I was in 6th grade (maybe 7th, not sure) and they got wicked popular.

The rest is history.

Ross 11-12-2006 06:10 PM

I'm so glad I went :) Wish I'd caught them sooner.

I saw them then too. Same show actually. :thumb:

MattSharpIsCool 11-13-2006 12:45 AM

I had a chance to see them, but I didnt have the money. So I never got to see them :upset:

First Date is probably their best music video, at least I think so.

Ross 11-13-2006 04:59 AM

Unlucky. I nearly didn't go, a friend pulled out at the last minute. Wish I was in standing though, seated gave a good view but when they played Happy Holidays I'd've killed to have been in that pit.

I'd agree First Date is probably their best video, although my memory of blink videos is limited to First Date, Rock Show and Stay Together For the Kids right now. I know I've seen others... hmm. Need to pay a visit to youtube.

bottlerocket 11-13-2006 10:41 AM

Watch some of the tribute videos. Most of them suck but a few are really, really good.

lunchforthesky 11-13-2006 11:17 AM

Oz Rembrandt 11-13-2006 03:33 PM

Josie is a great video! They all look so young...

lunchforthesky 11-13-2006 03:48 PM

especially alyssa miliano!
best part of the video obviously

MattSharpIsCool 11-13-2006 11:18 PM

Josie is good.

So is the original version of M&M's. Scott does the "Mentos" thing. They all do such a good job of getting shot. Especially Mark. He looks like he's taking the biggest dump ever imagined.

DJ Ducksauce 11-14-2006 12:28 AM
Well hello there. I must say, you all have been very patient. A few weeks ago i posted a bulletin telling you all about a new song that we recorded and since then ive gotten hundreds and hundreds of messages pretty much saying the same thing, "When can we hear it?". well, that song will be available exclusively on KROQ's Kevin & Bean's Super Christmans CD which is in-stores next tuesday, November 21st. But since you all are the best fans, and have been so supportive, i wanna let you all hear it now, the full version. so stay tuned, chris from our management will be uploading the song shortly right here on our myspace page. Thank you for all the support, we hope you like it.
-tom
Maybe some hope in AVA?

I love the M+Ms video. All pre S/T blink vids rocked pretty much.

MattSharpIsCool 11-14-2006 12:31 AM

I really liked the video for "Always" but the rest of the S/T videos just didnt do it for me.

I just realized it's the 13th. I will be making a visit to Best Buy tomorrow after work. I'm freaking excited!

Oh, and I have plans for December 6th and 15th.

Angels and Airwaves is in Portland on the 6th, and Plus 44 plays here on the 15th. They're playing in the same venue, too.

poo-poo-pee-pee 11-14-2006 04:22 AM

For anyone who wants to know, 'Star of Bethlehem' is up on the AVA myspace:

http://www.myspace.com/angelsandairwaves

Sounds like everything else from Angels & Airwaves, but a lame version of it...

I'm not a fan.

The Chemist 11-14-2006 07:34 AM

ti's the 14th!

YAY!

Hahaha, so true.

I love when Scott busts out the Mentos and just smiles.

/listens to new AVA song

Yep, not a fan. I don't like any of their stuff, really.

chumpradio 11-14-2006 12:48 PM

Anyone notice how AVA released a new song the day +44 came out in the US?
I haven't listened to the new song, but from this I'm wondering whether it's meant to get back at Mark for No It Isn't being released on Tom's birthday.

Bad Blood 11-14-2006 12:58 PM

hey can someone upload the new AVA track? Myspace says it fails when it tries to play it.

edit: nevermind, its working.

it's so boring, i turned it off after a minute or so.

no lyrics?
