Don't care about whether you're welcome or not—goodwill is ungrim and Jewish

If Varg is right about Olog-Hai being like berserker, then trolling is very black metal

Silenius 02-29-2008 01:22 AM

Yeah but I really see no point in posting on a forum dedicated to metal when I haven't gotten into any new metal for a few months now. Wouldn't bring anything to the table in a discussion.

Deathcrush 02-29-2008 01:24 AM

This very thread was created in hope of sparking some real discussion, after the previous thread was closed and it was decided that there simply shouldn't be a black metal thread on this board.

Post after post of nonsense like this, and unsurprisingly it was back to square one almost immediately.

Like I said, anyone interested in real metal discussion is welcome.

It's best that I cease to post about the new forum because it's almost bordering on advertising.

Silenius 02-29-2008 01:28 AM

This thread can't possibly stay on the topic of black metal, differing opinions can't go without 20 posts of unrelated bickering in this thread.

What?

I'm never too enthusiastic about checking out new bands these days; and I've had this sort of attitude for quite some time, actually.

One of the problems with this thread, other than the worthless and unoriginal "wow ur so grim" spam, is that people simply list a couple of new bands they've checked out, someone else agrees or disagrees on how good said bands are, and that's it; conversation over.

Absolutely zero content.

People are searching for way too many average, easily forgotten bands and little projects to be truely appreciating the music. I've been listening to the same bands with a couple of new additions here and there for about a year now.

Quality > quantity.

Silenius 02-29-2008 01:33 AM

Well sign me up and I'll see how the forum is.

You know, I never realized how meaningless my life was without heartfelt and informative discourse over black metal until this very morning.

No, it's quite simply ... effortless

Heil Satan!

To cue everyones useless arguments, has anyone listened to Blazemth "For Centuries Left Behind..."? I just purchased it.

And ps has anyone noticed that Encyclopedia Metallum hasn't worked for the past month?

i am the robots 02-29-2008 03:45 AM

five pointed star of hell
symbol of satanic goat
appearance at the ritual site
unholy amulet of the santanist
sacred to the devil's child
abomination to the mighty one
every point
evil stench
every side almightly hates
crush the star under foot
tear the robe on which it lies
accursed image it portays
symbol of blasphemy will never rise
now powerless against us
it lay in pieces in the dust
awaiting the fires of hell

sieg heil

You're are the retarded kiddie that said Incantation - Onward to Golgotha was boring and shitty.

RetiredAt21 02-29-2008 08:06 AM

He really said that? If he did he's ****ing retarded.

no, i said I didn't like it the first time I heard it, so i decided to set it aside for awhile. it was months ago when i first listened to it.
He really said that? If he did he's ****ing retarded.
explained above. I figured it would take time to grow on me and it has.

shut the **** up dude, there's no need to post things like this.

RetiredAt21 02-29-2008 12:24 PM

Why didn't you like it at first?

rattlehead42147 02-29-2008 12:34 PM

I just wasn't ready for it at the time. I think it was "too much" for me when I heard it, I didn't expect it to be so brutal I guess. I wasn't really shocked by it, but I was kind of like "what is this?"

Compared to the more straightforward bands I was listening to at the time ie Death/Gorguts you can imagine how someone would react at first to something like Onward to Golgotha.

The truth hurts.

Angmar 03-01-2008 12:30 AM

I'm downloading Kataxu's Hunger of Elements after considering it for awhile, Anton's review finally pushed me to get it.

Nostalgia 03-01-2008 12:34 AM

It's ok, but I can only remember liking one song. The first song sounds like carnival music.

Angmar 03-01-2008 12:36 AM

Well, I like Arcturus so it's probably right up my alley. :p

Tyler 03-01-2008 12:37 AM

it sounds nothing like Arcturus. well maybe the first album but that's a stretch

Silenius 03-01-2008 12:38 AM

I can see that (the one part in the beginning where he laughs like a maniac over those strange arpeggios), but in general that cd is really ****ing solid. Like a regular in my weekly listening.

First album sounds less like Arcturus than the second, it's almost strictly pagan/folk with few symphonic elements.

Angmar 03-01-2008 12:39 AM
it sounds nothing like Arcturus. well maybe the first album but that's a stretch
I was just going by the carnival music thing, since I see people call Arcturus that a lot.

Nostalgia 03-01-2008 12:40 AM

 Yeah, that's what I was referring to.

I actually like that part, it sounds utterly demented to me in a cool way.

RiceMonster 03-01-2008 12:56 AM

Ewww, Kataxu.

Eliminator 03-01-2008 01:05 AM

kataxu is down with the clown

That will bore you to sleep. Good music if you're an insomniac, I guess.
