What album do you have? If you have New Dark Age I'm gonna flip my lid.

gmoneyguy 04-18-2008 11:06 AM

Let Loose the Swans and The Angel and the Dark River

pate 04-18-2008 11:09 AM

Different bands

masscows 04-18-2008 11:20 AM

Hmm, don't really like The Angel and the Dark River at all. I'll take TLTS over it any day. Other MDB recs anyone?

Angmar 04-18-2008 11:29 AM

I checked out the band Winter and they're pretty great, you might like them Masscows, they're death/doom but have a relatively oldschool sound.

pate 04-18-2008 11:31 AM

Winter is good.

masscows 04-18-2008 11:32 AM

Thanks, I'll check them out.

Must spread rep before giving to Angmar again.

Eliminator 04-18-2008 01:22 PM

winter are ****ing awesome

much better than this lame mdb talk that pops up constantly

Txus 04-18-2008 01:28 PM

MDB are seriously awful.

Winter \m/ is there Eternal Frost EP worth getting btw?

Eliminator 04-18-2008 01:30 PM

i dont really remember but its probably good anyway

pate 04-18-2008 02:59 PM

Yes, it is.

RetiredAt21 04-18-2008 05:18 PM

Winter are really good.

And MDB are straight up gay.

Neoteric 04-18-2008 05:38 PM

MDB are good.

rasputin 04-18-2008 07:16 PM

MDB have some good stuff, and boring stuff. There are heaps of better doom bands though. What's this Winter that's being spoke of? I shall search.

Eliminator 04-18-2008 07:17 PM

winter is winter aka better than whatever else most people may be talking about this thread at any given time elimnator

rasputin 04-18-2008 07:22 PM

ohok kthnx

Angmar 04-18-2008 10:14 PM

Winter are one of the first death/doom bands and they rule, I have their Into Darkness album and Eternal Frost EP and both are really awesome.

rasputin 04-18-2008 10:47 PM

yeah I googled them, they look pretty awesome.

LEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDD MEEEE YOUR STEEEEEEEEEEEL
Yes. There's a rarities Solstice vinyl coming out soon called "Only the Strong". Loads of great stuff on there. Well worth looking out for.

And in more solstice-related news check out this classic cheesy video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV66xrMhHv0

the2stranger 04-20-2008 07:44 AM

Sup guys.

Back from Roadburn, seen some great bands.
Trouble tore the place down, same goes for Isis, Nadja, Jesu and tons of other bands.

rasputin 04-20-2008 07:48 AM

Finally got some Winter, the album Into Darkness. It's very bassy, in a good way.

Eliminator 04-20-2008 07:48 AM

you should listen to unholy

rasputin 04-20-2008 07:50 AM

Are they from Finland? just looked them up and not sure if it's the same one you]'re talking about

Eliminator 04-20-2008 07:51 AM

rasputin 04-20-2008 07:54 AM

ok sweet, cheers for that. listening to some stuff on their myspace now

the2stranger 04-20-2008 08:07 AM

I'm listening to Merrell Baker and Jordan.
Ambient experimental stuff.
With Aidan Baker of Nadja on guitar and two others on shortwave radio.

Sweet stuff.

Eliminator 04-20-2008 08:13 AM

rasputin 04-20-2008 09:05 AM

You're welcome!
Great Australian funeral doom it is.

If you can find the demo called Tears From A Greaving Heart, be sure to get it too.
It's a demo, but it's like an hour worth of high quality funeral doom.
Great production, great songwriting, very solid release.

Are you writing the review for Sputnik?
If so, I'll check it out. :)

np: Merrell Baker And Jordan - Half-Life
(great ambient/noise stuff)
