Did an Operation Ivy stencil a while ago, proceeded as described on stencilpunks.com. I know the text is a bit shabby but if you like op ivy you don't have to read it to know what it says. :p
Nice job. That looks good. What kind of paint did you use?

Acrylic paint... the kind of stuff you'll find in any store they sell paints and brushes and such.

Yeah, I've been meaning to try acrylic paint. Looks like it'd work better than the fabric paint I've been using.

Misanthropic 03-11-2007 12:20 PM

It works quite well, even better black on white... I've only done two so I haven't washed the shirts that many times but I think it'll last pretty good.

Lexluthor 03-12-2007 11:26 AM

This has probably been asked; but hey, its a long thread... so...

Does anyone know the UK name for Freezer Paper (and if so, where can I buy it?)

Thanks! :thumb:

You can get something called Textile Medium to mix with acrylic (1:1 ratio) which will keep it on pretty much permanently.

Jon 03-12-2007 12:08 PM

might print this tomorrow (basically UK Subs - Warhead logo. I can't think if it was used elsewhere I'm confused)
Damn, I think that would be pretty hard to stencil.
Just expose it and screenprint it the 'proper' way?

Rory that came out really well, even with the underspray. I like it.

Can you YSI me the .PSD file or something please?

Acrylic is all I ever use, and it lasts through the wash.

Genocide_23 03-13-2007 10:13 PM

Jon 03-14-2007 09:16 AM

go to the shop.

i think there's something in the launder'd guide but I can't be bothered to go through it right now.

coheneran 03-14-2007 09:41 AM

Google is your friend.

sam-a-lam 03-18-2007 03:04 PM

I made a pretty cool shirt tht says "Blaze It" for a friend.
But I took it to a show to give it to him, he wasn't there and I lost it.

coheneran 03-18-2007 06:21 PM

You know you can delete posts when you go to edit them right? =P

You should have taken a pic of it. Do you have a pic of the stencil?

Converge#12 03-18-2007 07:37 PM

I'm not sure how DIY this is but I figured you guys would be most knowledgable. I wanna go back to vegetarianism but last time I got sick and lost too much weight and muscle mass.

I know now.

And I found it sortov, the guy who gave me a ride found it in his van, when I get it back I'll post a picture.

Easiest solution: don't do it. One person doesn't make a difference.

heyimsheep1 03-19-2007 01:00 AM

Just cut out red meats and stick to poultry and fish

If your gonna do it, just eat smart. Being a veggie doesn't mean just eating vegetables. Make sure you eats lots of nuts, and things like quarn are good as well. Choosing to be a veggie is like taking on a new diet, you just have to watch what you eat. Make sure you get a balanced diet (like I say, nuts are good for protein).

And obviously the most important thing to remember is that all people who eat meat are worth less than you. No matter what they say or do, you should always look down on them. Give them a hard time about eating animals and stuff... its the only way they learn. :p

What I found hard about turning vegan or vegetarian is the lack of flavour or addictive substances (like you get in cheese) which are really fulfilling if you'll eat anything. After a week or two you come off those addictive chemicals and also become more sensitive to flavours, or begin to appreciate what before seemed dull flavours. So for the first month or so I'd say make sure you include as many varied food types in your diet as you can, like someone said eat nuts, and broccolli (alternatively for the broccolli, take vitamin B12 supplement), curries are very good for a combined source of nutrition, and salads of course. Try not to eat in order to feel full, but to get nutrition. Don't rely on chips or junk food, those should be snacks not meals. Also eat citrus fruit for vitamin C to stop from being ill, and nuts and seeds are great source of energy if you get tired a lot.

coheneran 03-19-2007 06:01 PM

The only solution.

How hardcore do you want to be?
I decided last month to go pesco-vegitarian/weekend omnivore: The only meat I eat is fish, and I didn't give up dairy and eggs and all that during the week, and I *might* partake in a little meat during the weekend, but that rarely ever happens anyway.

But make sure you take advantage of tofu either way. Like hardcore. When I started, I didn't eat enough shrimp/tofu and had a massive protien freak-out, even though I was eating like 1/2 of those huge jars of peanuts a day.

Now my parents keep the fridge FULL of this "tofu-to-go" stuff as well as plain tofu, so I can have a small triangle as a snack and throw some of the unflavored stuff into some pasta. Seriously, it's got it's own shelf [my parents are temporarily vegitarian as well].

I know I said this last summer and it never happened, but I am going to build a tallbike.

I just randomly got really excited about it, and I finally understand some things about it I was confused about previously. Plus my dad's welder friend is on board to help me out.

It's just too bad that if I get it done, I wont be able to take it to college with me.

That's pretty ****ing cool, especially for (what looks like) freehand. I reckon you should use stencilled font and a different colour for the "Blaze It" though. Well done.:thumb:

Hahaha, you could try filing an official complaint that the cycle-racks aren't tall enough and there is no dismounting stair, this college has to do its part to reduce carbon emissions by encouraging cycling etc.

asdf 03-22-2007 04:36 PM

For now my only complaint is that the bikes I garbage picked truely are junk. They will not cooperate with my plans

Maybe I'll go to the police bike auctions and get some parts cheap.

Make sure to check inside the saddlebags for drugs!

That kicks ass, it would look cool if you stenciled the "blaze it" on the back and sprayed it over, so you'd have like really nice looking text outlined by sort of messy text.

I haven't given it to the dude yet, so I'm still trying to make it look better.
