I'm going to write a song called "Folk-Punk's Dead". True Americana is much more interesting than folk-punk.

AIRIC 11-06-2006 04:07 PM

I recall my statement about Eran and Jon's gay adventures being bad discussion in TCT after Zak's assholery.

I love you two.

And yes gay adventures imo is what this thread is about. Please post away about your stupid *** campfires and shi.

Jon 11-06-2006 04:10 PM

Folk-punk's not dead at all
Folk-punk's not dead at all
Folk-punk's not dead at all
Folk-punk's not dead at all

Jon 11-06-2006 04:12 PM

wait, 70s punk is late? If post-77 was second wave, how would one mistake Minor Threat as early?

Eran, I hate to say it, but you know little about politics and less about punk.

Yes, that's right, folk-punk is dead
Just another cheap product for the consumer's head

Schoolboy sedition backed by small time recorders

lolz u lose 10000 punx points

(r)evolution 11-06-2006 04:27 PM

damn

Jon 11-06-2006 04:28 PM

Well, Iggy and the Dolls and MC5 were protopunk.

The Pistols, Dead Boys, Damned, Clash, etc etc were 'early punk'.

--

If post-punk started in 77 or 78, and the Exploited wrote Punk's Not Dead in 81, how could anyone say "oh, early punk? he must mean latter-day fugazi, thilly me"

Jon 11-06-2006 04:34 PM

I just don't like you being all "omg i know punk i'm s0000 punk my music is s000000 punk" when you draw blanks when I talk about Stiv Bators, that's all.

I don't have a problem with your (tbh quite shit) music, or your political views, or your choice of halloween costume or anything else, but stop trying to be something you're not.

I stopped that a long time ago, hence me being so weird.

Right, lol, well methinks we be spamming again, so this conversation is over. If you wanna confront me about my supposed mastery of punk history, don't do it on here.

Jon 11-06-2006 04:43 PM

No, you still go on about how you and your friends are punks.

When we were outside the 12 Bar, yes, Jon (blonde mohawk jon) and Elias are punks.

You are teh anarchiste, you are not a punk, you have nothing in connection with punk, politics was a minor part of punk (you're thinking of nihilism), and you listen to very little punk.

Apart from that I really have no problem with you at all.

Flagjacket 11-06-2006 04:45 PM

The punk forum is no place for discussion about how punk someone is.

Why do the two of you insist on talking for ages about crap! Seriously like, there's no problem with having a conversation,. jsut try to put a cap on it!

And Eran, nobody here cares for your politics, so stop talking about them. There's a Politics Forum if you feel the need.

coheneran 11-06-2006 04:53 PM

Okay Jon, I'm sorry I tried to butt in on the super-exclusive scene that is punk. I never realised I had to actually dress punk and know all the bands to be legally allowed to like the bands and be friends with punks. I'll just change my avatar to the pic of Mike from SLC Punk, and we'll say no more shall we?

Jessizzle 11-06-2006 04:55 PM

sometimes, im thinking daaauumm i am so punk, then i have to punch myself to make sure im true tilll deathxcore.

Jon 11-06-2006 04:57 PM

I'm not saying you have to dress punk to be punk.

You just have to be punk. Some of the Camden crew are pretty fucking punk; some have just bought tartan trousers from pervy Steve's shop.

Basically when I think be punk to be punk, I think of Andy, the bassist from the Duel. He was at the 12 Bar that night actually, he's the most punk rock person I've ever met in my life.

Anyway enough now, I have to go find a torrent for Romper Stomper.

 Rep+.

Whenever I feel in doubt of my punXcoreness, I listen to Franz Liszt - Hungarian Symphony #8. The soft and melodic piano always makes me feel 'ard and punX again.

Okay Jon, whatever you say. I am too punX to care how you classify what is and isn't punk.:p

AndreTheHyena 11-06-2006 05:02 PM

Speaking of punk, I have no money whatsoever, and I'm not working until tomorrow, so rather than wander around town and come into the possibility of spending money on food or the new Willie Nelson record, I'm just going to listen to Avail, clean The Squat, and hang out with our communal kitty Chairman Meow.

AIRIC 11-06-2006 05:02 PM

Do you listen to punk rock?

Yes?

Oi you're a punx.

Andrew: My English teacher calls me Chairman Pfau. My last name is Pfau.

Flagjacket 11-06-2006 05:03 PM

The SQUAT.

AndreTheHyena 11-06-2006 05:06 PM
Andrew: My English teacher calls me Chairman Pfau. My last name is Pfau.
Pun Punx unite.
The SQUAT.
No, just The Squat. It's our communal living area/practice space/party central/sex den/DIY venue.

coheneran 11-06-2006 05:08 PM

Where you at Andrew?

Flagjacket 11-06-2006 05:09 PM

Polygamy isn't freedom.

AndreTheHyena 11-06-2006 05:10 PM
Where you at Andrew?
Branson, Missouri, USA.

coheneran 11-06-2006 05:14 PM

Not bad. Missouri is like, something Capital of the West.
Polygamy isn't freedom.
No, it isn't, but there's far more sex.

Flagjacket 11-06-2006 05:14 PM

Hahhahahahahaa

(r)evolution 11-06-2006 05:15 PM

Sarcasm ITT

AIRIC 11-06-2006 05:16 PM

Andrew what exactly is your living situation?

AndreTheHyena 11-06-2006 05:16 PM

edit:To coherananrnan: Haha, I dunno, maybe. Missouri rules, just not Branson. St. Louis, Springfield, and Kansas City are all amazing, and the wildnerness parts that haven't been made into strip malls yet are all beautiful. A lot of good people, albeit a little misguided politically.
