i've a question. i am starting to think that "one" was recorded a little off key. is that so? i will tune my guitar almost perfectly. i think it is just when i play lead. the lead has a weird sound that probably makes it hard to play acoustically and sound on key. i don't mean this for guitar. i am just making an observation.

it probably was tuned in key. Ive never heard anybody make this claim, and chances are it wasn't. I don't really get what you're saying in the rest of your post though.

killswitchlog 10-06-2004 11:50 PM

basically, in the rhythm it sounds fine, but on lead it has an unusual sound that sounds like my guitar and lead guitar on the recording that one or the other is off key.

CreepingBlack 10-06-2004 11:52 PM

its probably your guitar.
Man, this sucks. I'm only 13 so my parents say I'm too young to go to a Metallica concert. If I had the money i'd maybe sneak out with my friends and go. And when my sister went to the Metallica and Guns N' Roses concert in 92' she got lost from her friend when she was in the big croud.
Awww poor kid. That sucks for you, dude. What's even sadder is my dad took me to a Metallica concert when I was 4 (CAN'T ****ING REMEMBER!)

Shred Danson 10-07-2004 08:50 AM
its probably your guitar.
Yeah, you might want to check the intonation on your guitar.

That's bullshit. Godsmack is a great band and shouldn't be tied in with nu metal.

ToRidTheDisease 10-07-2004 09:32 AM

im seeing them in nov. :thumb:

CreepingBlack 10-07-2004 10:19 AM

id say godsmack is numetal.

Shred Danson 10-07-2004 11:45 AM

Ah, Godsmack isn't really metal, per-se. I'd say they're more hard rock than nu-metal...

Kinda. I'm not really fond of them, and honestly dont know why they are opening for Metallica. But they seem more like mainstream rock to me than hard rock.

Haha! Quiksilver got Mitch'd!

Anyway, is it true that Ride The Lightning (album) is tuned up half a step? Becuase if you play to it, it sounds fret half a step up. I have a theory to what happened if it IS up half a step.

He could use a pick for certain songs.

Shred Danson 10-08-2004 09:16 AM

has anyone heard the Primus version of Master of Puppets? It's badass...

Squirrel 10-08-2004 09:25 AM

Yup, their cover of The thing that should not be is cool too.

Paranoidd 10-08-2004 09:38 AM

Dream Theater did a great cover of the whole MOP album. Minus the vocals, it's excellent (LaBrie just doesn't suit it.)

Thus, the cover of Orion is really, really good.

Yeah, they did it live as a surprise, I think.
