Alright, I love Marvin; what song are (were) you listening to?

I mostly say this because I consider this kind of playing and perception of music (=insane mix of all the existent genres, tastefully done without missing the sense of melody and heaviness) to be the latest evolution of the term progressive. Bands that do this (like Nevermore, Solefald, Into Eternity, Akercocke etc) are the finest examples of new metal and the future of metal will be based on them in my opinion.
Have you checked out the new album yet?

Yup. I re-discovered Akercocke thanks to your review (added a couple of comments again ;))

Anyone here like Bob Schneider? Or even heard of him for that matter...

Why thank you, I'm glad that people actually take the time to read them.

So...my hunt for a suitable establishment of higher education is getting more eminent. I've recently learned that I need to find some colleges to apply to ASAP so I can apply for the ACT. I've ran several checks, and one school keeps coming up repeatedly that really caught my eye, but it's a long way away. I guess this is where I'm supposed to know that I shouldn't let something like distance stop me from doing what I want to do with my life.

What do you want to do with your life? Study music like you told me the other day?

I'm terribly sorry guys, I was brutally kicked out of MSN and now it wont let me sign in :(

I would only be a music major if you are willing to work hard.

And by the way, do you remember a review you had written on Scream Bloody Gore? It seems that it hasnt been moved to Sputnik for some reason. Would it be possible to submit it again? Without doubt, I remember it was one of the best reviews I've ever read!
I do remember that review, and thanks. A couple of my reviews didn't make it over to sputnik for some reason, and I never bothered re-submitting them.

Yes, music is undoubtedly my main interest. I'd like to study down south in the United States, but living in Ohio (one of the country's northernmost states) it will be quite a drive. I found a school that has everything I'm looking for though, so I'm hoping that the distance won't be anything major for me to overcome.

I would suggeest Southern Miss for guitar, but Giovanni Deciarro left Southern Miss.

Palm Beach Atlantic in Florida. I'm not too sure which direction I want to go in music yet, which I'll need to settle on pretty soon. This school has all of the technical things I need like AP credit and financial aid, etc. Apparently their music program is pretty good, and they're a fairly selective school. The only drawback I can tell is that it's a Christian university.

The bigger the distance the better! You'll live far from your catholic parents and be free to enjoy and cultivate what you really love. This is your chance Bennie boy :thumb:

Hahaha, I agree definitely. I've been telling my parents for some time now that I plan on going far away after high school. Then I'll finally be free from them, and can focus on what I love. :)

I'm not too worried about the school's denomination. I know from the school my brother attended that colleges don't force their religion on students nearly as much as high schools.

I hope so. I have such a narrowed perception about american christianity. I mean wont people there be like  when they realize the kind of music you like?...

I'm sure there will be people there like me. The whole school can't be full of Christian students, there must be others like me who are there for the academics. And where there's music, there's bound to be metal! :)
