Sony BMG put spyware rootkits into some CDs recently.

When a person put the Cd into their computer to put into iTunes,

the moment it was read by the computer, unless you have auto-run off. It installed a root kit/spyware type of thing.

Even if you clicked out of the thing.

It tracked what people did online, loging everything.
It made peoples computers highly volnerable to attacks from hackers, due the fact that it disabled/weaked firewalls. I assume it opened ports.

Keep in mind this was placed in CDs like, Elton Johns holiday hits...

Sony is getting sued by,
State of Texas for breaking their anti spyware law.
Some comsumor group for invasion of privacy.

Most likely my state of Oregon is working on a lawsuit against Sony BMG.

It makes you wonder what other record labels are doing though....
Me too, but I'm also 100% for purchasing. Downloading for me is a great way to sample music and find new stuff, but downloading and burning CD's without ever buying and supporting the band just seems wrong to me.
Holy ****. I would've been pissed if it had happened to me. I always loved Sony stuff, but that's not cool. :(

Mr. Squiggles 12-06-2005 03:22 PM

Yeah, name change finally.

Well, I just got back from Bodom a few hours ago, man they put on an awsome show. The whole set was amazing and we got to stand about 3 feet from the stage by the barrier. Amon Amarth were freakin kick *** and to my suprise, Trivium were not half bad. After the show, we got high fives from Alexi and the others which was kinda cool. Overall the whole show kicked *** and the songs were perfect. It was so ****ing awsome.

Shadows 12-06-2005 03:23 PM

You just got back a few hours ago? I thought the show was last night? What the hell happened?

Mr. Squiggles 12-06-2005 03:27 PM
You just got back a few hours ago? I thought the show was last night? What the hell happened?
Well, It was last night, and I guess I didn't just get back from Bodom, I got back from Tampa, we spent the night over there.

Shadows 12-06-2005 03:30 PM

O, I C

Did you get some sweet merch?

Mr. Squiggles 12-06-2005 03:32 PM

I just got a shirt, they really didn't have that much, aside from a couple of stickers.

Shadows 12-06-2005 03:33 PM

Yeah, everything was really expensive when I went there. They had plenty of shirts to choose from though.

But I was smart enough to wait and order one from cobhc.com when I got home. It came today. :)

Mr. Squiggles 12-06-2005 03:40 PM

I think they had like 4 different shirts, It was kinda expensive $25, but not to bad. What shirt did you get?

While we were outside, waiting in line to get in, ****ing Alexi comes walking across the street, and I think we saw Roope too, but I wasn't 100% sure, Alexi is really short.

Shadows 12-06-2005 03:43 PM

Yeah he is. When I was walking in we saw him with a crowd of people waiting to shake hands with him. We didn't see Roope though.

Actually, I'm looking at cobhc.com where I ordered it, and it's not even listed there. My shirt says "COB" on front and "Are You Dead Yet?" on back. Much lesss then $25, hahaha.

Mr. Squiggles 12-06-2005 03:45 PM

Cool, the only bad thing is Leah got really sick after the show, I felt bad for her.

Shadows 12-06-2005 03:48 PM

I figured that might happen. She said some of her family got terribly sick when they got to Mexico.

haha, that's the same as mine.

NP: AC/DC - Hell's Bells

Shattered_Future 12-06-2005 08:13 PM

Damn, I should've waited to order a shirt after Gigantour...I got charged $40.

I was going to punch the guy.

Man, all this makes me want to see Bodom now...they're playing a week from today near me. Supposedly last date in the US.

Shadows 12-06-2005 08:18 PM

Oh damn, you've been screwed again!

That seriously sucks. Their current tour kicks ***.

And this band Demiricous I just discovered isn't bad either.

Shattered_Future 12-06-2005 08:19 PM

Meh, I got Sonata and Into Eternity instead...which is even better. :D

Gotta get lots of phat merch from there.

Shadows 12-06-2005 08:20 PM

You son of a bitch!

Shattered_Future 12-06-2005 08:22 PM

Don't blame me, blame them. They obviously don't like Ohioins. :p

Now, the New Yorkers, HERE'S where it's at. :)

Shadows 12-06-2005 08:24 PM

Right...

You can take your merch back to Screw York.

Along with your "wedding bell riff".

Shattered_Future 12-06-2005 08:25 PM

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I forgot about that...:naughty:

Shadows 12-06-2005 08:27 PM

:naughty:

You bastard.

AA-12 12-06-2005 08:30 PM

Wait, i'm lost now.

Shattered_Future 12-06-2005 08:30 PM

You know it's true though. :p

Shadows 12-06-2005 08:31 PM

Perhaps....maybe...

I guess...meh...

How the hell did you pick it up!?

Shattered_Future 12-06-2005 08:32 PM

Oh please...I can see through your little charade easier than a Russian bride.

The whole "You have great eyes" speech. I mean, it doesn't get more clear than that.

Shadows 12-06-2005 08:33 PM

I thought she was just being nice. :(

It can't be that obvious.

Josh was there, get that link out of here!

Shattered_Future 12-06-2005 08:37 PM

Well, when you spend a lot of time helping people (or bothering them), you pick up little hints here and there...

My ex-girlfriend pulled a lot of that stuff that Leah's pulling on you...I dunno, maybe she IS being nice. But I think it's just a tad deeper than that.
