Oh, that's actually pretty reasonable.
I started reading The Hitchhikier's Guide To The Galaxy today. It's had me laughing a ridiculous amount.
Ha ha, it is an awesome book. |
Agreed. I'm almost through it for a third time.
The part with the whale and petunias cracks me up every time. Steve, you're up early (or late). |
In other news, I'm only 12 posts away from an awesome post count.
EDIT: 11 |
i missed mine :(
|
Jesus christ, almost finished my take home exam that's due in 1 hour, 20 minutes.
I have not slept. That's two all nighters in a week. Huzzah! But not really. |
I finished my Russian exam, and I'm about to go hand in my take-home exam.
WHICH I FINISHED A WEEK AGO. |

Steve, you're up early (or late).
Ha ha, I loved that part too, felt sorry for the bemused whale. :p It is 16:41 here, I just have the day off and decided to come on here for a bit for a wee break. I've decided that I'm not gonna study music after all. Job opportunities are just not stable enough and I'd rather not have to become a music teacher for a high school or something and not even earn great money. Instead I am gonna study Japanese and work towards becoming a translator, you can earn pretty decent cash that way, especially if you work on written materials. Up to much today? |

You have one coming in 33 posts. Don't give up! |
Go teach English in Japan.
Nah, I thought about that, the money is relatively poor plus you don't even need to know much Japanese to teach english which is kinda crazy. You would teach people who would be intermediate students and are at the stage where you could teach them purely in english but using at first simple language, just like how kids from english countries learn in a way. If you learn the language well there are plenty of well paying opportunities out there. Mandarin is not easier than Japanese, definitely not! Mandarin is a tonal language consisting of 8 different tones if I remember right and a sentence can vary meaning in huge ways depending on specific intonation on certain words far more so than changing your intonation in an English sentence would. Japanese on the other hand is not a tonal language and has less sounds than english does and has relatively flexible grammar. I actually find it relatively easy to earn. |
ahoy mates.

Just work, band practice, and hopefully picking up this Boss RC-2 that's on CL. It's $130, but it's in brand new condition and comes with the power supply, so it's not bad. Shame the last guy with the $90 RC-2 sold it before I even saw his ad. I'm really excited to use this looper in a band scenario. There are a few breakdowns and bridges that we have that feel empty with a low A0 being played and the guitar squeeling high with nothing in the midrange. Figure it'll allow me to keep that nice low bass going while I play some delayed notes in the midrange and allw some rhthmically complex work to shine through. I still have yet to really use that program that you send me the link to, but now that I don't have mandatory overtime this weekend, I can start plugging some physics equations and geometry axioms into place. Sweet. |
ahoy mates.
Sup dude. How goes it? |
oh i'm doing alright. got a show tomorrow night, looking forward to that. it's at a pretty sweet venue with some decently popular bands, from what it looks like.
my phone just broke, though. well, it's been broke for a while, but it finally died. |

Anki is awesome, such an efficient way of learning tons of stuff quickly. |
I can't wait until we have our first show with this band. All the lineup and song changes though are just pushing everything back. We'd planned originally to start playing out by early March, but times is tough and now we're planning on early July. :upset:
I wish my phone would die. When my last one bit the bullet (aka death by SUV running it over), I was phoneless for 2 weeks. It was actually rather nice not having that leash. When cell phones become obsolete, I will cheer. Then we can use tesla coils to send free electricity via the air. Awesoem. |

Ah, good stuff. I am looking forward to hearing the thing when you get round to recording it. I think you guys might have one of your first Scottish fans. :p |

 Scotland Pride ftw. I'm actually 25% Scottish, the Clan McInnes. I bought me a kilt (made in Scotland) with my clan tartan a couple years back, along with a sporin, brogues, and all that other good semi-formal stuff. When we get the first album or EP recorded, I might just have to send you a copy (free of charge as I'm certain I still owe you some $$ for the initial gram of Skunk). |
Good afternoon, lads.

Only had three generations of people living in Scotland down my Dad's side. His dad was Polish and his mum's grandparents were Irish. If you wouldn't mind sending me a copy of your EP or album when it is done that would be awesome! I'll try and spread word of you guys here so you can have a wee tartan contingent. :p Any pics of yer kilt? |
I'm Polish, Welch, English, Scottish, German, and Jewish (yes, rather interesting combo, but it's a great conversation piece).
I think my mom has a picture or two of me in it. I'll try to dig it up for ya. To hold you over, here's the clan tartan: I went with the hunting version as opposed to the formal version. I also had it made with 12oz wool as opposed to the 16oz because Arizona is not known for their wet, cold highland climate...In fact, I don't even think we have highlands, it's just pure desert... ...I joke, I joke, I kid, I kid. We have a mountain or two somewhere... |

Ha ha, I guess Arizona ain't the best place to wear big woolen skirt type things. I've actually never worn a kilt and wouldn't really want to either, mainly because my skin does not take kindly to wool at all. I'd look like I had sunburn on my legs. Never been up the highlands actually. I stay in on the West coast in the Lowlands but only about an hour away from Loch Lomond, not quite sure whether it would be considered a true highland area though. Beautiful place in the right conditions. Cool tartan as far as tartan goes but I need pics of you in it. :p |

Good Lord, I'm nearly albino with an inability to tan. I must mate with a fine latina chica and break the cycle! I'm not sure if it would either. I'd have to throw on Braveheart and compare. :p It does look gorgeous. I'll find you those pictures this weekend, and if I can't, I'll take some....even though it's a little creepy. Haha. |
Damn, the RC-2 seller told me he just sold it to some guy who offered him $140 for it to buy me out.
Damn. |
Pat Metheny ftw.
Picked this up on vinyl for $6 a little while ago, and just got around to listening to it today. |

Damn.
Aww man, suckage. Track that bitch down, paint your face like Gibson in Braveheart, wear yer kilt and sporran, sharpen your claymore, turn up at his house and ask for his RC-2 or his life. If he opts for the latter you'll do what comes naturally. I'm kinda the same, I just don't tan well at all. I'm sure Celtic people have vampire blood in them somewhere. They don't do well in the sun and their thirst just switched to booze. |
