Anyway...i finally listened to almost all of Hatebreeder last night. Still not as good as FTR...but freaking amazing. I love Warheart and Black Widow...great great songs.

I think Hatebreeder is better than FTR because it has some more classical influence. Although, they are both amazing albums. If your into other powermetal stuff Towards Dead End is a really good song, and Bed of Razors is a slower one.

I don't really come into R&M much, but I was just wondering if someone in here could give me a genre for Bodom?

Thats what I thought but I've been arguing with some douche at another forum who who swore they were Black/Death for about an hour now.

They aren't even close to either Black or Death...

Yeah, I said they were Power with Blackish vocals but he woudn't have it even after I gave him definitions and examples of Black and Death. It's times like these I'm Glad everyone at MX is so cool/knowledgeable.

Yeah the vocals aren't even really black or death, they are just harsh. The music being melodic death or symphonic black is also a ridiculous notion if you ask me.

Yeah I know the vocals aren't harsh enough to be Black but if you had to pin a genre on them I'd say Black would fit best.

Does anyone ever get tired of trying to put labels on bands? I don't know, but I find that it can get a little annoying. I've been told that Children of Bodom are black metal, death metal and melodic metal. Personally, I don't care. You like what you like. Labeling things just makes music more complicated sometimes. IMO.

Without labels though, a Bodom fan could say oh if you like Bodom then you'd love Cradle of Filth, when in fact they aren't the same thing at all and I hate Cradle of Filth. With labels though, bands like Bodom and Norther are labeled as the same thing, and are in fact very similar.

Yeah I guess it does sometimes but it also makes it easier to find other bands you like and besides that guy started the argument with me when I implyed that Bodom were basically a Power band. Anyway, thats for the help about the whole genre thing guys :thumb:.

My favorite band woo hoo.... I love every single song they have....

My favorite if I had to choose would have to be either Kissing The Shadows or Bodom Beach Terror.

I like the idea of just calling it "Metal".

I don't really care about labeling genres on bands, but I'm usually a Nazi for getting it right. Bodom is power metal, but Something Wild I think has black metal aspects.

So is there going to be some kind of Hate Crew forum or thread or something started? If there is let me know ASAP.

Glad to see another Bodom fan. My favorite song by them is Bodom Beach Terror as well. It has one of the best intros ever.

From now on we all have to type in Civitype font. We could be some sort of CoB cult.
