How's that cover coming, fellas?
As usual, horrible . My tracks our down, we got guitar comin', we got bass down for BoP, and we need your vox.
Pretty good. I spent the last week in Colorado, so that was fun.
That's sweet, I've been to Colorado before (I live in MA) and it was incredibly fun. I'm going to Seattle/Vancouver in early July and New York City in early August, so I'm all hyped up for the end of the summer. And I've got Gigantour on August 26th, day before school starts, so that should be fun. |

So how is it horrible then? We have half of it done...? |
I think it was a brilliant thing for Tim to do to a presidential hopeful.
Ever wonder why he didn't win? Other than politics.
Because he's a musician, and to the government, musicians are crazy, stupid people who only make music for the chicks and the money, so to them musicians=thymbs down. |
So how is it horrible then? We have half of it done...?
Well, we've had this whole time and only a few days left for it to be finished and mixed, and we're only halfway done. |
Can you upload your drums again.. I seem to have misplaced the file.
Edit: we have another month man |
Can you upload your drums again.. I seem to have misplaced the file.
Edit: we have another month man
It ends 7/1/05, and I can't upload anymore, my computer won't let me use YSI or any other upload programs. |

Forbes or Tim? Ah, my sense of humor isn't all that grand. :upset: |

Ah, my sense of humor isn't all that grand. :upset:
Tim. |
I believe it ends August first. There was an extention if I remember correctly.
|
I was talking about Forbes not winning, but I haven't woken up quite yet, so it wasn't that apparent. My fault.
They were going to play "Bullet in the Head" for that performance, but with being kicked off and all, they had to resort to kicking *** instead. |

Amen to that.
:chug: I can imagine as to why they got so angry, though. They were being kicked off for promoting their style. They couldn't hang the flag upside down on the amps because of the presidential candidate hosting the show. Still a brilliant move by Tim. About as brilliant as his move during Durst's speech. |
3. Please have everything done by 7/1/05. That is your deadline, stick do it.
Guess not. |

And at the Grammy's, he broke his award. The man has pure comedy in him.

He's also a really nice guy...I wish i could meet him. Also, Revolver, are you under a new account? Or is this your first account? Cause you act like a mature regular. |
This is my first real account. I've just been on other forums before.
I figure I should bring up Tom, mainly because I think the man is a genuis and he inspired me to start playing guitar. I think he was underrated after he began creating the heavily effected solos he's famous, or infamous, for. His work on the s/t was definately some of his highlight solos, but he always ended up keeping catchy riffs throughout his entire career. I wonder what made him want to just use sounds as solos to begin with. I understand he wanted a more unique sound, but it's hardly unique after so long. This is probably why he's gone back to melodic solos rather than effects, but I've always been curious as to why he wanted his solos like how they were. I was wondering if maybe he was trying to create the sounds of chaos to bring the point across over each composition. Hendrix did the same thing for his Woodstock performance of the National Anthem. I've wondered if that was why he did it, other than the need to give a more unique sound. |

It is rather fun to just screw around with a Digitech, I confess.
I think there's another reason to it though. I should start buying these guitar mags where they interview him and Tim. I bet my answers are in there. Then again, you most certainly could be right. I'd just think it was an expression of chaotic rage expressed through sounds of...well, chaos. I think it'd be cool if he did his own version of the National Anthem. I'd like to hear that. |

Revolver, you are a gift to mx. You are someone from 05 who isn't a complete dumbass. :thumb:

Wahified, dives off the end of the world, phases, machine gun blasts influenced by Hendrix, I even bet he'd rig an effect to sound like an atomic bomb going off. Either that or a barrage of missles. I think he could do it. :thumb:
You are incredible.
Thank you, I've tried. :D I very much want to hear Tim do a bass solo. I want to hear some more of those funky dynamics he used in the s/t. It was those that made me realize he was fairly underrated as modern bassists go. I sort of wish I could say some stuff about Brad, but after the s/t, I didn't hear much definitive material from him. I loved his work on "Killing in the Name". |

Defniately "TTPB". That bass riff was awesome, and after my friend compared it to some of the RHCP's basslines, I got into them. I also checked up on some Jaco, whom I believe Tim does list as an inspiration. I'll have to double check.
I like his one jazz bass. I think it's a Fender '72 in natural finish with black block inlays and black binding on the neck. He took the pickguard off, I believe. I really wanted a bass after I saw that. It looked beautiful to me. I wish they'd give him a signature edition from Fender. I think with the number of fans he's gained through Audioslave and Rage, it'd sell quite well. Built to his specifications, of course. |

Well you got banned, that's a different story. |
Yes. I'm pretty sure.
I wonder how Zack is doing. I haven't heard any new stuff by him. Maybe I should check out the "Fahrenheit 9/11" soundtrack. Also, I've read that Tim is having his headstocks reversed so his E string is longer for tone reasons. |

I was taught to back my opinions with reasons for my liking/disliking something and to understand everyone has a different point of view. My father wanted to be a lawyer, but dropped out of law school. I want to get the first Rage DVD they still offer. The self titled one. Does anyone here have it? |

Excellent, how's the quality of the performace(s)? Any cool special features like Battle of Mexico City had?

great quality, pretty cool features |
Hmm...I think I'll try to pick it up next time I go to Best Buy. Thanks.
I'll also try and pick up the Grand Olympic performance. I've heard good things about that one. |
If you can only get one, get LATGOA
Agreed. That DVD is the best music DVD I own. |
I'm taking both your recommendations and I'll make sure to buy one or the other, or both, after I buy my girlfriend a birthday present.
Has anyone checked out Live and Rare since I talked about it a few pages back? |
