depression is rage turned inwards.

have you seen a councilor? they are very good.
Now that isn't a very true statement. Depression stems from tons of things, including Post Traumaic Stress Disorder... I know what mind has, and does, stem from. Is anger a part of it? For me, yes... but not so for others.

I am in therapy, twice a week, and I have medication.
hmm i dont want to be offensive in anyway cuz i think i might be to someone but...LR do you think you might have Social anxeity?....
sorry how u feel...i think i know someone like that....but ur a great person LR trust me :thumb:
No, not social anxiety. While I'm not a very social person (right now anyway)... I don't have that. I have severe depression, not otherwise specified (the not otherwise specified mean that I have alot of symptoms from other disorders, particularly Borderline Personality Disorder..)

Thanks *hug*
*big hug*

I know how you feel, sweetie. From what I've seen you sound like a really sweet person. The career you are picking just shows it. Anyone who cares enough about others to make that they're career is a good person. Especially because the individuals you are going to be helping have usually been outcast by the rest of society. In fact, I think your an awesome person.

Thanks sweetie, I appreciate it *hugs*

The thing is.. I KNOW what is logical... you know... I know that all the horrible things I think about my self are typically not true. But that isn't the way I Feel.... feelings rule in this area.
i think we should do some sort of a theory quiz thread where someone askes a musical question, you answer and then ask one of your own.
EXAMPLE

Q: what is the 7 of an F#dom7 chord

A: E

i remeber LR starting a thread like that a while ago and it was cool to read / answer.
Yea, maybe we can start it up again soon...

I think this bass wars thing is getting a bit out of hand though...

I can relate to that. I tend to make things seem worse than they really are when bad things happen to me, and not listen to logic.

I'm hoping for a bass friendly fire incident.

UncleJam 07-19-2004 10:40 PM

Hmm... it seems I've run out of snickers.

gaslight 07-19-2004 10:44 PM

Garfield owns. :)

Do any cartoon characters play bass?

UncleJam 07-19-2004 10:48 PM

I know. ;)

I'm sure Popeye plays Bass. He's got those giant forearms.

Ruhtra 07-19-2004 10:54 PM

I'm trying to draw a cartoon version of myself playing bass. Drawing the bass in my hands is the hard part.

I draw my own series of comics... I haven't drawn one in awhile though...

The basic premise is a cute little bunny that commits morbid acts of violence on unsuspecting people, some of them complete nimrods.

ScorpSath 07-19-2004 10:54 PM

ahhahaha^^^

gaslight 07-19-2004 10:55 PM

It's believable, that's what I like about it.

Ruhtra 07-19-2004 10:58 PM

Thing is I always make it blatantly obvious that there is something wrong with this bunny. For example, he'll be holding a butcher's knife or some other weapon in his paw, but the person still fawns over the bunny.

gaslight 07-19-2004 11:00 PM

Can we see some?

Creativity Thread ++

Ruhtra 07-19-2004 11:01 PM

Sure, once I get them hosted and all.

SporKsBaSSisT 07-19-2004 11:07 PM

Sounds like a play off of Happy Tree Friends.

www.happytreefriends.com i think. or .net

UncleJam 07-19-2004 11:09 PM

Popeye does play Bass.
Don't judge it too harshley, I'm tired.

Ruhtra 07-19-2004 11:26 PM

You know those paper fourtune teller things? Well, I made 5 of those, but the fortunes they tell are how you're going to die. So there are 40 possible ways to die, 39 of them are morbid... >_>

I am the same way. I feel like I'm a horrible person no matter what I do. I think I could single handedly end all hate in the world and still think I've ****ed up somehow and did it for the wrong reasons

I know how that goes. And it doesn't help that I've had countless "good friends" talk about me behind my back and ruin my friendship with other people heh. Example of one of those "good friends" (this happened today; she was talking to a true friend and decided to do a little impressionism):

"hi im ted. i really like bass, and i manage to screw up every relationship with a chick that i have, and i know that, so i complain to people about it so they'll feel sorry for me. i care about people even though they can care less about me. they could hate me for all i know but i still adore them"

I'm glad as hell I have my bass.

Chaos 07-19-2004 11:42 PM

sorry that made me laugh a little when u said im glad as hell i have my bass but...wow^^^ i think i can relate to that too

When I'm really sad I like to try to convince myself that girls are gimmicks, and that bass is all that really matters.

It only works sometimes. :p

If there is one thing I can't stand, it's a backstabber. I see that so much at my school, that's why I am very choosy about who I trust.
If there is one thing I can't stand, it's a backstabber. I see that so much at my school, that's why I am very choosy about who I trust.
Yeah. It's sorta sad, I've grown up being backstabbed and you'd think I'd grow used to it by now.

Guess not.

UncleJam 07-20-2004 12:03 AM

Fine, ignore Popeye.

But you know he still rocks... :(

Foxfire 07-20-2004 12:05 AM

Lol sorry :p I think it's good :D I haven't seen Popeye in forever.

Ruhtra 07-20-2004 12:10 AM

Same here, but I don't really watch cartoons anymore. Although if I see an old cartoon on, I'll watch it.

UncleJam 07-20-2004 12:12 AM

Heh, yea, the old ones are the classics.

It's like a nice vintage Bass... mmm.... ;)

Foxfire 07-20-2004 12:15 AM

^ It'd be awesome if it was both.

Popeye + Pre-Ernieball Stingray :D

UncleJam 07-20-2004 12:16 AM

My Popeye is playing a vintage Fender.

I'm not even sure how far Stingrays go back...

Foxfire 07-20-2004 12:17 AM

And UncleJam, about that Pipe Tobacco thread, some people prefer talking to bassists about mindless banter because, well...bassists are gods. Simple as that. Makes them feel better.

... but I couldn't find a Dean that looked good with him. The Fender fit (besides, Popeye's old, Fender is old). ;)

Jim Hull 07-20-2004 03:17 AM

Its funny how things change. When I was young, I was very slim, never skinny skinny, but a nice, slim build. Its amazing that over 2-3 years I put on so much weight, I dont even recognise myself! Has anyone ever tried to loose weight? Its so hard. Im trying to cut down, exercise more, but its bloody hard. Anyone else struggling with anything at the moment?

gaslight 07-20-2004 03:21 AM

I'm struggling to gain muscle and tone it so I don't look like such a junkie ho.

Jim Hull 07-20-2004 03:23 AM

 Keep trying!
