you're saying that a types is a plausible progression from the satellite years, but so is they're only chasing safety from when the sun sleeps, where the rest of the guys got more of their way. and how is underoath pop punk. do you guys really act this elitist in real life??? this quote makes me think of you guys, "And as far as kids saying we’ve sold out…kids like that just like to talk."
You wont be able to tell the difference. |
After sifting through the glaring grammatical errors, I'm going to have to guess that that is a criticism of the way I post here. Changing of Times to They're Only Chasing Safety is not the progression that they sold out on. It was earlier when they went to the much poppier style on Changing of Times. Also here, "sold out," is a weird term because they got many new members. I guess the main problem is that the members that stayed consented to such a change and in fact welcomed it as shown by allowing the new members and new style.
Oh ya. I am this elitist in real life because I really do care about it this much. Everybody has their thing. My youngest brother is addicted to WWE. My middle brother is addicted to Socom II. My dad is addicted to sugar free popsicles. My mom is addicted to shitty Colin Firth movies. I am addicted to music. If you were to suggest that Love Actually actually wasn't a good movie, you'd have some crap to deal with with my mom right? If you ate the last popsicle you'd have to deal with somebody who practically needs them. If you're going to be a douche around music, I'm going to be an elitist about it because it's that important to me.
i'm sorry, i didn't know grammar was important on an internet forum. or do you just care so much about grammar too? or is it just that you like to act like you are better than everybody? and just because you care about something doesn't mean you have to be elitist about it. of all the bands i have been fortunate enough to meet, including a couple in this thread, none have ever acted anything like that about music. they all seem to think that taking genres so seriously is pointless; they just want people to get something out of their music. but i guess you must care more about music than them, since you care so much that you have to be an elitist. the only people that i know in real life that act like that are people that like to pretend they are above other people. look back through this thread, and see some of the stuff said. like people making lists and getting approval and stuff, and other people going through and putting not approved on there. come on. it started cool with good information and stuff, but now it's just like you guys stroking each other. "oh me and such and such decided to put that band in obscureneverbeenheardofbeforecore, blah, blah, blah." i'm sure you guys have good intentions. you know more about music than me, and i'm found several great bands from this thread. but maybe you should take a step back and see how you are coming off. its not like you are offering your knowledge to help people and introduce them to good music, its like you are saying your word is the definitive word on the subject and you are better than everybody else. |

huh? |
Fax Arcana and Usurp Synapse got dropped from Magic Bullet. Bummer.
Apparently the drummer for Usurp Synapse (singer for Fax Arcana) beat his girlfriend and attacked one of his band mates that tried to stop him. |
Someone's gotta put her in her place.
|
I don't need to "act better" when I am better than all you sucka fools.
In case you didn't notice the people making those approval posts are people like cbmartinez, and people who are making a decent attempt to understand what this thread is about. I mean to learn about emo/screamo you should be listening to bands that are emo/screamo and not metalcore right? That's how confusion starts. A bunch of idiots say "well they're screaming about emotions, I think so it must be screamo!!!" You know that's not how it works so please just be a good kid like cb and try to learn from people who know what they're talking about.
i think you missed what i was saying. it wasn't about whether or not you know what you are talking about or me learning or not learning. and telling me to be a "good kid" is just another example of the way you act that i am talking about. |

He was always talking **** about everybody. He thought he was the best. Good to see you can still rely on Brent to kick off certain bands. |
Sorry if this is a bad post.
I've been getting into Snapcase lately, and I'm wondering whether or not I should pick up an album? Can anyone give me any suggestions? Thanks if you can. And I'm not sure if they come under Screamo or Hardcore, so if this is in the wrong place I'll try somewhere else :) |
You rule, dude.
Seriously. |

How the hell does a guy with a Blink 182 screen name know about something like Snapcase?
|
and for the record, DFelon is the elitist. I'm just a snob.
|
I love the first Get-Up Kids Lp. So sue me.
|
Alient Ant Farm are way worse than the Get-Up Kids.
|
Hopesfall kicks it. The Satellite Years is flawed true, but I think it's still stands as a very good album even with the incohesive flow and such.
Yes I agree. The individual songs from The Satellite Years are insane, but the flow and how they all sound very samey stops me from giving it a perfect score. They should have taken the two instrumentals off too. |
After reading this thread, I listened to the satellite years, and I'm hooked to it, after not listening to it in weeks. I think I might have too many cd's for my own good.
|
"The Bending," "Decoys Like Curves," "A Man Exits," "Dana Walker"
My favorite songs in order. "The Bending" is incredible. The thing I love about The Satellite Years (that I miss on A Types) is those long spacy parts where they get a really neat dual guitar/bass combination going.
I really love Alien Ant Farm's CD ANThology. I even type out their stupid punctuation. Excepting "Smooth Criminal" it's one of the best rock CDs I've ever heard.
Good man. People are so ignorant, they're are such a great band. You should get truANT, I think it's better than Anthology. More mellow, ecletic, etc. One song has a latin groove. |
Attitude?
|
Yeah, I can remember two spacy parts. One with some spacy tremolo (I'm assuming "The Ones") and the other being the final moments of the CD. I think "Per Sempre" is a really spectacular album ender.
I love the first Get-Up Kids Lp. So sue me.
I love Something to Write Home About, myself. Four Minute Mile is good too. |
-20 scene points

scene points are so overrated
/scene points for me |
I'm a fan of the 'Kids.
If you're complaining that we come off as thinking we're better than everybody else and also whine that we think we are the definitive words on the subject, then why are you even in this thread. If we're such cocks I'd think you'd not be here. But then you say oh I got some good bands from here and you had some useful information. The reason I "missed" what you were saying is because I didn't address it, as you were waffling around that whole entire post. Just admit that we know what we're talking about. Most other people on the site have. The most recent one to not was vallely and he was owned in multiple forums but still didn't give up. You got some good bands out of this thread right? Let us cum in your face for gratitude and then just walk away.
i'm here because, like i said, i have found some great bands and learned some stuff. so what if you know a decent amount about music? get over yourself. the people that MAKE the music don't even act like you. why do you think that you can be a prick just because you know about music??? you seem to think that if i say that i found some good bands from your posts, then i can't think you are a prick. well, its both. i'm done arguing about this. but if you are ever in Tampa, Florida, let me know and i will meet you somewhere and you can try to cum in my face. |
I will gladly cum on your face next time I'm in Tampa. It'll be easier than dissecting your poorly thought out arguments.
even if you are anywhere close, i will still meet you, i don't mind driving. but i know that even if you were here you wouldn't say anything. because you are just an internet bad *** like 1 million other nerdy kids. |
haha, DFelon likes d00dz.

Zing! |
Ahhh, so Saetia are emo then? I've been really liking them recently, I need to buy an album.

The only Cd they have ever released is their discography if I'm not mistaken. It contains all the songs they've ever released on tape/vinyl/splits etc. and a few live songs. I've been thinking about getting this album too, as it's very cheap for the 70 minutes of music you get for it. :) |
