A pixies fan, yo.

Zmev 07-01-2007 12:44 AM

**** Ghost World.

Anxious 07-01-2007 12:47 AM

Probably better off reading Nowhere Girl.

I saw Battles about a week ago, and they blew my mind. The electricity went out at one point and everyone kept singing the vocal lines from Atlas. It was cool, trust me.
This wednesday. So stoked.

Zorg 07-01-2007 01:35 AM

Also going to go see the Battles on the 16th. I hope it will be as good as everyone says.

do all you faggots live in the same town or does Battles just tour like 10 cities a night?

They're doing a national tour atm.

br3ad_man 07-01-2007 05:33 AM

I'm considering flying to see them because it would be fun. It's lame though, they're coming to Australia and only playing two cities. Blonde Redhead too. It's such a waste, why would you fly so far to play two shows?
ya slsy em even ive seen one of your classmates naked and i live thousand of miles away
Don't worry I'm sure she appreciates it
Polyphonic Spree ruled tonight. Seeing a 30 piece band cover Nirvana's Lithium was pretty awesome.
Saw them on Friday night, they put on a great show.
I'm in Toronto.
I don't care.
I've heard the Polyphonic Sprees shows are awesome. So jealous :(.

In other news, **** cockroaches. I can deal with any other godforsaken bug, but NOO, a cockroach has to be crawling on my wall. ****ers. I just had to kill it with a shoe.
Yea, the show was awesome.

They had a main singer, 6 person choir, a synth player, keyboard player, 2 violins, 2 guitars, 1 bass, a cello player, flute and melodica player, trumper player, trombone player, flugelhorn player, a drummer, a percussionist, and some other misc. ****.

Jacaranda 07-01-2007 01:08 PM

their show is good until you notice the music sucks and they are just a gimmick.

pixiesfanyo 07-01-2007 01:20 PM

yeah. i'd agree with that

asymm 07-01-2007 01:51 PM

I'm hoping to expand my knowledge of metal, but haven't had much luck finding distinctive bands that really stick with me. So, give me some recommendations for someone who likes these four records:
Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb
Mastodon - Blood Mountain
Neurosis - Given to the Rising
Boris - Akuma No Uta

They don't necessarily have to sound like these four, but are maybe of a similar fanbase. Also - try to steer clear from the post-metal/shoegazey sound, I want my metal to have some balls.

margin0walker 07-01-2007 01:58 PM

try Converge if you haven't already

ATM 07-01-2007 02:03 PM

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
Burmese - A Mere Shadow and Reminiscence
Gory Blister - Art Bleeds
Zebulon Pike - The Deafening Twilight
Turambar - Dhatura
Spirit Caravan - Elusive Truth
The Funeral Orchestra - Feeding the Abyss

Cryptopsy - None So Vile

I'm not too big on metal either but I love this album.

ATM 07-01-2007 02:12 PM

Yea, that album rules.

asymm 07-01-2007 02:21 PM

Excellent guys, thanks. I'll be sure to look into some of the stuff I'm unfamiliar with.

ATM 07-01-2007 02:31 PM

No problem, let me know what you think. If that's not what you are looking for, I'll suggest some different things.

Hedgedive 07-01-2007 02:53 PM

k I'm really bad at keeping up with everyone's tours.

who's coming to Texas in the near future?

Anxious 07-01-2007 02:58 PM

Great question, I'll get right on that.

Hedgedive 07-01-2007 03:02 PM

Lydisk 07-01-2007 03:03 PM

that's like 5 hours from here :/

I live near Beaumont. Some bands come here, but otherwise all I've got is Houston.
