I've always wondered if Gilmour,Waters,Wright, and Mason actually listened to their own music in their free time. You would think that they'd be almost sick of it having heard and played it so much.

I'd recommend it.

I think that Syd's solo stuff is pretty psychadelic, not necessarily in instrumentation, but the music itself is pretty out there. But, I haven't listened to it at all recently, so I may be remembering incorrectly.

Gilmour doesn't modify them, he hired some guy to.

The whales-having-intercourse part in Echoes (I think that's what we dubbed it) used one of those pedals and there were only 4 made. Gilmour has 3 and the Aussie Floyd guitarist has 1. What a lucky guy.

At any of these Aussie Floyd concerts you guys went to, did they play any Syd-era stuff? I had heard before that they sometimes played Astronomy Domine and Interstellar Overdrive. I was praaaying they'd play either or, but they didn't.

Did they really? Not bad. What was the light show part of the song like?

The best part of the show that I saw was when they played Careful With That Axe, Eugene. It was just a really eerie atmosphere to go along with the song. And when the sweet scream came, the whole stadium erupted! Looked like everything was on fire, red lights flashing everywhere. It was a great effect, inspired by the Pompeii film no doubt.

I can remember the female vocalists doing an amazing job as well. They blew me away during The Great Gig In The Sky.

So I went to Aussie Floyd tonight.. AMAZING.

We had main floor tickets, at the place we went had no seats.. So I was less than 2 feet away from the stage, I could literally touch it. It was nuts.

What songs did they play?

The entire Dark Side of the Moon, and I think a second set also.

Take a Crybaby and plug it in backwards (the guitar plug going into the amp jack, etc). You'll get a sound very similar to the "whales having intercourse" part of "Echoes". Only trouble is that it's been so long since I did this, that I'm not entirely sure if that's how I actually did it. All I know is that I did something to my wah pedal and got the "whales having intercourse" effect.

I did that with my wah pedal and nothing happened, no sound came through at all.

That doesn't work. If you did that, the sound from the amp would be output by the guitar. But, since the guitar can't output and the amp doesn't make noise on its own, no noise would come. You need to do rewiring of the pedal.

Nope. Doesn't really work. Unless it has to be a certain kind of wah pedal. I have a Crybaby Classic.

I'm gonna have to try that when I get the chance. Anyways, the Aussie Floyd seem good. I'm gonna have to try and find out about them.

Yeah I have an Original Crybaby (probably the same thing as a Crybaby Classic) and no noise comes out if I plug them in backwards...I've done it by accident many times.

I have a crybaby and I've plugged it in backwords. It made a weird sound but the volume on the guitar had to be 10.

cause like memtioned above it makes no sense.

I absolutely ****ing love Pink Floyd.

Currently my favorite album is Animals, still missing More, Saucerful of Secrets, Atom Heart Mother, Final Cut, Obscured by Clouds, a few live things, and the albums without Waters though
