I just put on one of my winter riding gloves for about 5 minutes and was sweating. I think I made a good anti-cold choice.
OOooooo what did you get? :)
Except mine's brushed steel, instead of shiny. |
Nice, haven't seen one of those. How's it sound, recordings?
|
What the **** is it?
|
My guess is that it's an overdrive pedal.
|
I think it makes the vengeful fires of God rain from the sky.
|
Haha.
Featuring Gain, Q, Drive, and a special switch for smiting sodomites. |
Yeah, it's a pretty badass overdrive/distortion pedal. No recordings, just because I can't be arsed to make them. I'll likely use record it for some of thr band's songs.
|
Is it as good as my Boss OD-3?
I bet not. I copped a bug in the eye on the way home from work :( |
ODB3 is a pretty decent bass distortion I do agree.
|
I agree also, hence my purchasing of one last year.
|
I don't think I've even plugged mine in in the last two or three years but I remember I felt pretty strongly about it having a good range of sounds in it.
|
I thought it had about two sounds in it, one of which was unusable.
Didn't like it. Though if you want to nail the tone for the intro of Around The World, you pretty much can't go wrong with it. |
I have a Tubescreamer and a Big Muff. They make a pretty killer combo.
|

Boutique pedals are so sexy...
|
Boutique effects pedals are Pokemon cards for grown-ups.
|
And I guess digitechs are like that machamp that came in every trainer pack...
|
Basically yeah.

So I'm hoping to see Emilie Autumn this Saturday night. I think I may just explode in my pants.

Your Boss ODB3 is analog? Oh, nevermind. I was thinking along the lines of tubes v no tubes not digital v analog. |
And I guess digitechs are like that machamp that came in every trainer pack...
 pretty much the best pokemon analogy I've ever heard. An amps tube distortion can't be beaten by pedals. Simple as that. Digital tube preamp emulation plug in's can do it very well (might post samples sometime) but digital distortions will always sound like poos compared to rich, warm tubeage. |
Eh, I dunno.
Get excited about Emilie Autmn with me. |
who?
|
Actually, disregard what I said about what I think about whether they are digital or analog, I'm not sure anymore. I've confused myself somewhere along the line, doesn't matter anyway.
Is this Emilie Autumn chick you're on about the one you posted all those videos of ages ago? |

Good example of stuff she does:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc3lqFySOAc Live video, it's like a stage show/burlesque mixed with it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8r9lTR3NAA |
Is it the goth violinist?
EDIT: Oh yeah, I remember her. |
Of course when I say stage show I mean burlesque show.

I don't know if I find her that attractive but I'd take the burlesque over the music for sure.

It plays games with my mind. Maybe that's the weird lump though.

For about $30 more, you're much better off getting the EHX Bass Big Muff Pi. Separate outs for clean/dirty, bass boost switch, and blending abilities....it's a fantastic pedal. It's got so many variable distortion sounds on it from a pseudo-fuzz to a vintage overdrive sound. It really impressed me.
I have a Tubescreamer and a Big Muff. I hated my Big Muff when I had it too. I'm really not a fuzz guy. I like my Catalinbread Hyperpak, but I wish I still had my two-knob version. The single knob one is really limiting :(

Really? I like the fact that the distortion is not overwhelming like on the ODB-3. I don't use it much because distorted bass tends to get lost in the mix of distorted guitars, but when I do use it, it's a great mild distortion. Any suggestions for a multiple FX-loop pedal? (Not a looper, but an effects loop type - I'm thinking I'd like 2 or 3 loops to choose from) |
Loopmaster did me a really good 6 channel looper last year. Not the cheapest or quickest, but it's good stuff. They'll wire it up pretty much however you want.
Things like that aren't too hard to find it you dig around a bit though :) There's a place over here called Red Onion that are pretty good with a quick turnaround - but I know you could find something more suitable your side of the pond. |
