Sounds sweet.
But I can't listen to them.
Every time I open a myspacepage, my PC goes all crappy and bums out. :-\

I'm listening to My Dyig Bride - The Angel And The Dark River.
The Cry Of Mankind remains an epic song.

I really need to be in the mood for MDB though, whic happens like 4 times a year or so, but then it's really awesome. :p

Ventriloquist 04-19-2009 11:24 AM

Haven't listened to their 2009 album. Might get it.

the2stranger 04-19-2009 11:25 AM

I haven't either.
The most recent album I have is Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light.
Which I like quite a lot actually.

jrowa001 04-19-2009 11:51 AM

MDB have never done anything for me

publicastration 04-19-2009 12:41 PM

they're hit and miss.

Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light is great, and their old stuff is good, and so is A Line Of Deathless Kings.

I think they've lost it now though
Yeah but that album is terrible.
no it isn't stfu :(

Shattered_Future 04-19-2009 12:55 PM

I didn't like Songs Of Darkness one bit...I thought their newest was the best they've done in a while. I still love The Dreadful Hours most though, and The Angel And The Dark River.

publicastration 04-19-2009 01:15 PM

dreadful hours was boring

pate 04-19-2009 01:42 PM

The only good MDB is Like Gods of the Sun and a little from A Line of Deathless Kings. The old stuff can blow me. The new stuff other than the ones I mentioned can blow me. Death/doom in general can blow me, except for Saturnus.

RetiredAt21 04-19-2009 01:48 PM

I can't stand to listen to MDB anymore.

Nostalgia 04-19-2009 02:15 PM

Hey Lee, did you know Tom Phillips was planning to kill himself after releasing Sorrow of the Angles?

I didn't.

pate 04-19-2009 02:19 PM

Did not know. Is that the full length or the EP? I get the titles confused.

Nostalgia 04-19-2009 02:24 PM

That's the full-length. It's really interesting reading the history he wrote on WHW. His ex-girlfriend sent him this letter as to why the relationship wouldn't work anymore, around late Autumn I guess, and if you read some of the things she says it really puts into perspective almost all of the lyrics he writes. They all start to make sense.

Do you have a link to where they're playing in New York? I can't find anything.

pate 04-19-2009 02:26 PM

You mean the venue or the fest?

Nostalgia 04-19-2009 02:31 PM

Anything. I just want a link/tour dates, haha.

pate 04-19-2009 02:41 PM

The first link has the correct confirmed lineup, and the second has venue info.

Nostalgia 04-19-2009 02:45 PM

Sweet. The second link appears to be dead, but I'm glad they're confirmed. I am definitely not missing this.

pate 04-19-2009 02:49 PM

Alright, go here and click on the Born Too Late fest under upcoming shows or whatever it's called:

pate 04-21-2009 06:54 PM

Still in the works. Patience my son.

All rhythm guitars and bass have been rerecorded. Waiting on the time to be right for the recording of drums and vox.

chuffed 04-21-2009 06:56 PM

gmoneyguy 04-21-2009 09:12 PM

pate 04-21-2009 09:12 PM

gmoneyguy 04-21-2009 09:13 PM

sweet. If I happen to disappear again when you release the album, make sure to email me.

pate 04-21-2009 09:15 PM

Sure thing.

gmoneyguy 04-21-2009 09:17 PM

Thanks. What did you think of Death Magic Doom? I dled it yesterday but I'm not sure how I feel about it. It had good parts, but other parts just lost my attention.

pate 04-21-2009 09:22 PM

I like it a lot, except that "In the eyes of the world" song and the parts in "If I Ever Die" where the music stops and Rob sings over silence.

I like it a lot more than KOTGI.

FatalEnergy 04-21-2009 11:26 PM

I got a Saint Vitus demo from 1983. It's not listed on Metal archives but the sound is completely amazing. It's basically the first album with two extra songs, but the sound is just as good if not better than the actual album.

pate 04-23-2009 05:50 PM

Austin, you better make sure the venue for Born Too Late isn't 21+ before you plan the trip.

Nostalgia 04-23-2009 05:51 PM

Oh ****, I didn't even think of that.

pate 04-23-2009 05:52 PM

I know. Damn, I wanted to chill with you during. Maybe kidnap Tom Phillips together.

FatalEnergy 04-24-2009 04:06 PM

My band should have our new song up today. We're mixing it and adding the last touches. Some feedback would be cool. I'll post the link when it's up.

pate 04-24-2009 04:08 PM

You guys aren't funeral or drone are you?

FatalEnergy 04-24-2009 04:14 PM

We're kind of funeral, but I think we're faster than most funeral doom. We have some black metal elements going on as well. Not so much in our newer song other than my vocals.

We mix it up a lot. Our other songs have parts that sound like Earth, Sleep and some sludge. We just do whatever works.

EDIT: Probably won't be up today because the guitarist "is not in the mood" to do the mixing.

RetiredAt21 04-24-2009 09:22 PM

Listening to Into Darkness a lot today, really good stuff.

SKUDstorm 04-24-2009 09:27 PM

Enjoying the **** out of Church of Misery atm.
