Would Between the Buried and Me be considered metalcore? I’m not the greatest at choosing which bands fall in which genres as there’s frankly too many of them and they all share elements with other genres. But that is the beauty of music.

Anyways, if they do fall in the genre then I must say I liked their newest album Colors. Sounded different from other bands in the genre, more uppity in places instead of just angry sounding all the time.

Favorite songs were Informal Gluttony and Prequel to the Sequel.

they would be one band i would add the word progressive to. but the core has left their sound.
I never thought I'd say this in reference to anything other than FGOV, but THANK YOU.

btw, did you hear that Rich quit FGOV to do TTEOTD full time now?

He was asking Trevor from With Faith Or Flames to do guitar for FGOV last night.
Really? That's the dude on this site right?
Would Between the Buried and Me be considered metalcore? Bridge To Solace's newest album is their best ones before it are incredibly cheesy.

How is BTBAM not metalcore?

Invicta_Veritas 11-30-2007 09:05 PM

The correct question would be, "what classifies BTBAM as music?".

masscows 11-30-2007 09:06 PM

well, calling them one thing doesnt really do them justice tbh.

explain your position BRA

i am the robots 11-30-2007 09:09 PM

Metalcore is an extremely broad term though.

Hardcore encompasses a wide variety of music and metal encompasses a wide variety of music, BTBAM doesn't step outside those two styles, except some clean passages.

masscows 11-30-2007 09:10 PM

uh dude they have a ****ing banjo and ****ing keyboards and ****ing 14 minute songs that's not very ****ing metalcore, is it?

I just did. My statement explains it all. My opinion and the reasoning behind it.

That's a question not a statement. There's no valid argument made. Furthermore, you actually post a question rather than determining a conclusion.

SO like no

Hahaha. **** the new album. It's like, this song's like a watered down version of their old stuff, but I really don't mind it... oh, that part was so gay and pointless, what the hell.

It really pisses me off how kids think that it's some sort of masterpiece of modern music that blows everything out of the water.

Tyler 11-30-2007 09:15 PM

i really like the new album even if the best parts are just the best parts from old songs with more dweedly.

and yeah the OMG WE'RE ****ING IRONIC parts are stupid.

One can assume that since I would ask that question, my opinion would be that they suck. The question also explains the reasoning behind that, in that I think the songwriting and overall sound is so crappy that it's an insult to call it music.

So, in essence, I DID explain it all with my rhetorical question.

Would ask the question? I thought you did.

And you just said songwriting. Songwriting implies the writing of songs. Songs imply pertinence to music.

That post was an explanation, your previous rhetoric was not.

The ironic parts make me not respect it all.

It's all just like, "KIDS WILL THINK WE'RE SO VARIED AND UNIQUE"

But maybe it's because of how much I've heard my friends talk about that irl that's made me hate it.

One can only assume that the album was an attempt at unbridled eloquence, crippled by a misunderstanding of what true intellectual writing may be.

I might be talking about two things with that sentence.

Tyler 11-30-2007 09:18 PM

Those parts just prove the rumours that they're all total wieners. You can just picture them giggling and snorting after writing them.
