i was looking into getting some of his stuff earlier today

was listening to the return, now listening to under the sign of the black mark


it's 1st wave black metal, earlier stuff has elements of speed and thrash metal but with a raw-ish edge that some consider proto-bm these days. later he went on to do some viking metal whatever

any of his four albums are brilliant and worth hearing, id reccommend blood fire death first and then prob under the sign of the black mark

The Return is best imo. I actually don't mind Hammerheart either, but the rest of his viking stuff is meh.
