Trivium is one one extreme..... With constant telling fans to circle pit and kill one and other...
Dream Theater is the other... The just stand there.... Neither is good... There needs to be some energy from a band... If a band just stands there.... So will the crowd.. |
That's why CoB are better than them both. :thumb:
|
Maybe in stage performance..
|
Trivium are pretty good, but Matt needs to stop that screaming shit. Whoever sings the clean vocals on all the choruses is the man.
|
I haven't heard Trivium, I think I heard a clip of a song on a Headbanger's Ball commercial, but that's it. The harsh vocals did suck, though.
|
I think Matt actually sings the choruses. Namely, Drowned and Torn Asunder, Ascendancy, A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation, Like Light to Flies, and The Decieved all have great choruses. Too bad A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation sucks. I hate that song but the chorus is so catchy.

And it's really nothing about looks. 99% of the time I'm listening to music I don't see the band that is playing the music and it never seems to make a difference. I personally don't like dream Theater but I'm not going to bash them because they are flawless. Yet I have to agree when I see a band live I don't want to just here the album (I could do that anywhere else in the world) I want to be entertained from the eyes and ears both. |

BTW... I like Dream Theater. Lots of energy doesn't make a live show great... As long as the band plays well.... and has some life in them... I guess it's all good. |

Amon Amarth COB and Trivium all played incredibly well and there was good energy so it was quite a show. |

LoL Anything I can help clear up? |
Meh, not really. I don't really know where this thing started, I would like to know how it came about.

I beleive it started about 3/4s of the way down the last page. But it's cool. |
Oh alright. I don't really feel like looking but whatever.

What's up? what do you play again? |
I play the guitar. What about you?
|
Everyone around here plays guitar.
|
I play all the rock instuments. Guitar (really well) Drums (so so) Bass (meh don't really like it)
Guitar is the best instument on earth. |
I play guitar and drums. \m/
|
I mess around on my friends drums, he left them at my house for like a month
Damn. Actually, he just took them back today. BUT I was getting pretty good.. And I play guitar, and I don't really like the bass but I can play some stuff. |
I get back to playing guitar once I go take it down to guitar center and make those dip ****s deal with it...
|
 Okay...nice. I am experiencing "writer's block", I guess, because I can't get any ideas to write stuff.
Also, where can I go to learn weird scales and such but will still sound awesome in metal songs? |
Study Marty Friedman for weird scales in metal. He was in Megadeth just incase you didn't know. Rust in Peace would be an essential album to check out.

His solo stuff is Christian campfire songs, I believe. |
Not really...
|
His solo stuff is awesome, and Rust In Peace is my favorite Megadeth album.
|
His Cacophony stuff is pretty good.
|
He was in them also? I didn't know that.
|
Yeah it was him and Jason Becker, pretty crazy shred stuff right there.
|
speed metal symphony \m/-_-\m/
... amazing... stunning |
Everyone always talks about that...I will download it.
|
Marty Freidman is great, but I could never understand him. At least not his melodic video. I don't know any scales or anything either, which also probably why it makes no sense to me. If you want to learn good scales and such though, I couldn't find anyone better than Rusty Cooley. I have his "Extreme Pentatonics" video, and his "Shred Guitar Manifesto" which are both great. The only problem is that you might need to pause it alot to practice them. I also have the tab books for the videos, so if I learn how to send them somehow I can if you want.
|
I always thought Cooley was a totaly wanker.

That would be REALLY awesome. All I really know is the pentatonic, the major, and I think the minor, I hardly know any scales. |

Yeah, the "Extreme Pentatonic" video goes through a ton of scales. What is your e-mail? I will send the video's and books through that. |
Alright, thanks a bunch man.
kingofterrors13 @yahoo.com |
Well, the video is 188 MB so it might take a while for it to send, sorry. I will send you the "Extreme Pentatonics" video, then the tab book after.
|
That's great. Don't trouble yourseelf, and thanks.
|
For some reason the "You Send It" thing won't work. I think I can try to find another way. But don't worry, I will make sure you get it somehow because I really suggest this to anyone who wants to learn this stuff...
|
hey, can you send it me too? would be great!!
