Britton 10-29-2005 11:09 PM

You mean the book?

DeusExMachina 10-29-2005 11:25 PM

Yes, the book.

Britton 10-29-2005 11:26 PM

I used to have it (lomg time ago) but my mom gave it to a library

Paul H. 10-30-2005 06:28 AM

Greatest Band Ever

Britton 10-30-2005 08:20 AM

Please don't say things like that

Yield 10-30-2005 10:31 AM

I have the book, so far its pretty good. The only annoying thing is the fact that my friends think I'm retarted for buying a seventeen dollar book about Pink Floyd. I didn't even buy, it was a gift.

Anyways, I haven't gotten far enough to find out what the heck all the others were doing.

robo2448 10-30-2005 10:46 AM

I need A Saucerful of Secrets (the book). But last time I went to the bookstore I had a choice between that and Bob Dylan's Chronicels and well, Chronicles won. I'm going to get A Saucerful of Secrets pretty soon though.

shamed-angel 10-30-2005 10:47 AM

I think Inside Out is better to be honest.

Broken Arrow 10-30-2005 11:34 AM

So I just bought Pink Floyd London 66/67 DVD/CD thing. There is some pretty good footage on it.

Welcome to the forums. Just a heads up, try to make your posts a bit more elaborate. This forum doesn't tend to be very welcoming to two word posts. Just to help make your stay more pleasant.
I think Inside Out is better to be honest.
Same. It doesn't elaborate on the bands drug use, but that's really because after Syd left, it wasn't really their forte.

DeusExMachina 10-30-2005 05:34 PM

Meh. I wouldn't do drugs either, if I saw my good friend degenerate the way Syd did.

Riva 10-30-2005 07:07 PM

I'd be getting both, to be honest. :)

As well as Echoes.

Yield 10-30-2005 09:23 PM

Hopefully as soon as I get some money, I'm gonna find Inside Out. I saw it twice, once on Amazon and once at Barnes and Noble, but that was before I joined and I haven't been able to find it since.

Britton 10-30-2005 09:27 PM

I buy all of my books at a used book store. So needles to say I don't
get much say in what I really want I just have to wait it out.

But the tab books are awsome.

Doctor Night 10-31-2005 03:01 PM

Does anyone know if there is a link between 'A Great Day for Freedom' from the album ' The Division Bell' and 'The Wall'. Is there a link at all or is it just me

temporary 10-31-2005 03:05 PM
Meh. I wouldn't do drugs either, if I saw my good friend degenerate the way Syd did.
That must have been pretty hard...

What is Echoes? I haven't heard of that?
One of my favourite floyd songs though.

Britton 10-31-2005 04:29 PM
I don't think there is a link, although on the surface it seems like there could be. I've always seen it as being more about the fall of the Berlin Wall, and globalisation. It does sound like they're having a go at Roger the first time you hear it though. They've said themselves it's about the Berlin Wall, I think.
That's what I took it to mean

I don't think there is a link

Its a fairly poorly compiled Pink Floyd Greatest Hits.

shamed-angel 10-31-2005 04:33 PM

Oh right, I knew that... I thought he meant that it was a book, as he was talking about books.
And now you mention it, yes it is VERY poorly compiled.

Britton 10-31-2005 04:34 PM

There might be a book. I see so much stuff of The Floyd's it's not even
funny

shamed-angel 10-31-2005 04:39 PM

True. I have echoes, but I've been told to get 'A collection of Great Dance Songs.' but I have every song on there on the album. Would you say it's worth the money? (No Pun Intended)

Britton 10-31-2005 04:40 PM

It might be worth it

but If I were you I'd just take all the songs burn a copy and call it a collection
of great dance songs

shamed-angel 10-31-2005 04:42 PM

That's a good idea.
I'm 3/4 of the way to the entire Pink Floyd album collection... :D

Britton 10-31-2005 04:43 PM

I have a bunch of them

magicbus 10-31-2005 08:27 PM

I almost have all the Pink Floyd I need. I think I have all the albums except for More, The Delicate Sound of Thunder, Pulse, and The Division Bell. There's a few others I'm missing, but I don't really care to get.

Riva 10-31-2005 08:35 PM
Its a fairly poorly compiled Pink Floyd Greatest Hits.
It's also a book by an author whom I can't recall the name of at the moment.

I've got every single Pink Floyd album/single/B-Side ever now. :D

And a bunch of bootlegs.

snorfledumpkins 11-01-2005 05:47 PM

So i just got "Obscured By Clouds"... Wow. There is some great stuff on there. Obscured by clouds, When you're in, wot's...uh the deal?, childhood's end, and stay are my favorites. All i need Is "More" to complete my studio collection, not including the "best of" type things.

Sweet man, I'm almost there. Most of my cds are burned though.

I can't wait till the Pulse DVD comes out. I've probably read through the contents about 500 times. It looks so bada$$.
