Does any one know any info on Francis Mark (from autumn to ashes) Solo cd???

BillCosby 09-28-2005 08:06 PM

"Howl" by BMRC seems pretty good so far.

Little Man being Erased 09-28-2005 08:25 PM

I want to hear that ^^

Yesterday I listened to and dug:

Sigur Rós - Takk...
The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan
Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire and Battle of LA
His Name Is Alive - Mouth By Mouth
Wolf Parade - Apologies to the Queen Mary

Both solid 4/5's.
I agree. His Name Is Alive are such a great band.

I'm listening to The Magic Numbers. I thought this was terrible and I'm liking it now, maybe because summer is here. I absolutely love the part about two minutes into "Forever Lost" where they start singing "looks like it all went wrong". This is a really solid album and it's making me happy. sup Iai.

Woke up to DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - Boom Shake The Room on my cd alarm clock this morning.

Old skool

OrbDragon 09-29-2005 04:58 AM

The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs
dEUS - In A Bar Under The Sea
Ladytron - 604
Eels - Blinking Lights & Other Revelations
Minus The Bear - Highly Refined Pirates
Dead Moon - In The Graveyard
The Melvins - Stoner Witch
General Patton Vs. The X-ecutioners

drummingtilldawn 09-29-2005 06:32 AM

X-Japan - Weekend

Thrashing drums, a hell of a guitar solo, thundering bass, strong characteristic vocals (though japanese), bridging piano and symphonic underlays.

Trust me this is one kickass song. And if your put off by the fact that they are japanese, don't be cos these guys kick some serious ***.

3rdplanet 09-29-2005 08:18 AM

Been listening to the new Mew album and it's pretty decent, The Craft has also been being span and it's pretty decent as well.

BillCosby 09-29-2005 08:50 AM

Sly and the Family Stone - "Stand!"

Bartender 09-29-2005 09:53 AM
It probably flows better than Blazing Arrow, but none of its songs are as strong as the strongest on that record. I'm overall very pleased with my first listen.
How long is it?

A minor concern in the grand scheme of things, but I'm curious.

58:11.

I listened to it again today, and it's really great.

Interstate 09-29-2005 01:44 PM

I've basically been sitting around listening to music all day:

Wolf Parade - Apologies To The Queen Mary
The Get Up Kids - Something To Write Home About
Elbow - Leaders Of The Free World

Now listening to The Promise Ring - Nothing Feels Good

YDload 09-29-2005 02:31 PM

"Megalodon" is a really great song by Mastodon. The guitar break in the middle is so weird that it makes perfect sense. Really makes me want to kill the fuck out of some whales

Ornery Cephalopod 09-29-2005 02:49 PM

Isis - Celestial
Electric Wizard - Come My Fanatics
Mare - s/t
Brian Wilson - Smile

The NPC 09-29-2005 03:42 PM

Gastr del Sol (again)

OrbDragon 09-29-2005 03:52 PM

The soundtrack for Amelie is so friggin' brilliant. It's written by Yann Tiersen...it's one of the best scores ever.

Yeah, that's it.

Something to Write Home About is such a perfect pop-punk album.
Something to Write Home About is such a perfect pop-punk album.
I second.

pixiesfanyo 09-29-2005 08:32 PM

Majority Rule is a good band as well.

I'm glad Disturbed threatened to beat them up at the Rolling Rock Town Fair last year.

Also because that was when I learned that they are not emo and emo is something different entirely :)

Little Man being Erased 09-29-2005 09:39 PM

The Arcade Fire - Funeral
Badly Drawn Boy - About a Boy
