Guitars are far too loud Zeke. I know Dev tends to focus on the guitars in his mixes but the only part of the drums I can hear is the cymbals.

Yeah, it's a fair point.

It's really strange, this is the mixtest that has made the most divided opinions - some are like 'FUCK MAN THAT'S AWESOME', others like 'Sounds good but waveform is lulzy' and the aformentioned guitars. If I'm honest it's the most sensible bit of crit so far so cheers guys :P

In other news, hows the lod? I'm fucking about with an old Nokia (I say old, I mean E71 - not too old but fucking terrible nonetheless)... they literally make the most frustrating design choices.

Well SBT, I think you were bang on with turning the guitars down a bit on my deadhead mix. Could get a lot of volume out without it really sounding much quieter, seemed to clean up everything else as well. See what you think:

A Satellite 335 copy off of japan from the 70's/80's. neck bends like a bastard but i set it up with some new strings and it sounds cracking. Trouble is it may have been free but now gets me wanting the real deal.

i found it very comfortable actually. the guitar that is, not taking it up the arse.

maybe it's a throwback to the years of playing classical but i just felt at home with something the size of the ark royal between my legs.

actually the "old-fashioned" argument is a bit rich, considering the solid body electric guitar hasn't changed in over 60 years

aye, there's not been much in the way of radical changes that's for sure.

many have tried but the old styles just refuse to go out of fashion.

probably the only real improvements have been in manufacturing and the fact that you really can get a shit hot guitar for a couple hundred notes.
