Holy shit!

I just heard Otyg's cover of Holy Diver, and wow that ruled haha. It was all folkish more so then metallish and had a violin do the solo...
Haha, that version does rule. It's interesting how all those scandinavian bands sing in english. Sounds quite funny, and frankly i wouldnt mind hearing more! :p

Then go check out the almighty Vintersorg, since hes the one that sings that version of Holy Diver.
Haggard is like classical medieval music fused with metal. But alot of the times it doesn't even have the whole metal element, but straight up classical. Very cool band, and that album is mostly in french and is about Galileo.
Sounds good, very good.

*is in the process of downloading tracks*

munky_magik 01-04-2005 07:58 AM

The qaulity of some of the tracks isn't great, but I dunno if that's just dodgy ones downloaded by me, but they're really good.
I think I'll get some more :)

Bartender 01-04-2005 10:12 AM

Hello everyone/no one. Apparently I'm now going CD shopping tomorrow, for some reason it didn't happen today. Instead, I've been watching Black Books, again. More time to find recommendations though, I suppose.

munky_magik 01-04-2005 10:17 AM

have you tried the reccomendations thread? ;)

Bartender 01-04-2005 10:21 AM

No, it's a stupid thread and I hate it

Actually, I just don't want any specific kind of recommendations ("looking for stuff like X, Y and Z"). I don't think going in and saying "recommend me things" will go down too well. Anyway, that's what I've already said in here :)

Burdcheese 01-04-2005 10:22 AM

So just a bit of spontaneous buying then?

munky_magik 01-04-2005 10:29 AM

I think that I only got 9 cds over Christmas :upset:
My list will never shrink

Burdcheese 01-04-2005 10:33 AM

I didn't get nearly enough - I need to buy more.

Only about 5 :(

Bartender 01-04-2005 10:33 AM

I didn't get any CDs for Christmas.
So just a bit of spontaneous buying then?
Yes. But whenever I get to the stores, I can't remember what it is I'm leaning towards at the moment. So this time I'm determined to have some kind of list to take, as a reminder.

munky_magik 01-04-2005 10:35 AM

Whenever I go CD shopping my mind goes totally blank, and any carefully prepared lists I happened to have made disappear or I forget about..

big 01-04-2005 10:35 AM

i got 4! 4!!!!! oh well they were good ones but i must write a bigger list!

Burdcheese 01-04-2005 10:35 AM

Whenever I go to a store I always have the worst indecision - there's so much I want but can never make up my mind. Sometimes I leave with nothing.

I've come up with a good system now though - if I'm with my friend, I tell him which ones I'm considering and he picks them for me.

munky_magik 01-04-2005 10:38 AM

I don't go with anything in mind anymore, I just go with the flow and buy whatever I see first.

Burdcheese 01-04-2005 10:40 AM

Last time I was there I saw at least 20 cds I wanted - so the new method had to be implemented

Bartender 01-04-2005 10:40 AM

Whenever I try that, the one they choose suddenly becomes the one I don't want so much.

Bartender 01-04-2005 10:43 AM
I don't go with anything in mind anymore, I just go with the flow and buy whatever I see first.
That's generally what I do, but then I always get home and go "FUCK! I meant to look for.."

Hence the list.

whenever I want anythign specific I usually use Amazon. The day I get a credit card is the day I'll go broke.

Kingofdudes 01-04-2005 10:57 AM

I also have problems with CD shopping, I always hold up my family when we go shopping because I am always remembering CDs I want.

munky_magik 01-04-2005 11:04 AM

I haven't been shopping with my family for ages. The last time I went was with my dad to toys'r'us, which is no where near as good as I remembered it being :upset:

munky_magik 01-04-2005 11:30 AM

1,500 posts, 4 stars, and a double post. It's been a good day :)

It's a standardized test people have to take to get into college. I take it you guys aren't American.

Six Foot Revolver 01-04-2005 03:36 PM

Nope, English

Iron Man 01-04-2005 03:36 PM
ACT? Whats that?
Some sort of college test thingy.

Burdcheese 01-04-2005 04:07 PM

So you take them before your SATs?

Iron Man 01-04-2005 04:16 PM
English too.
