Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Goes Numb. My favorite album right now.

Hey Zappa, did you ever hear that album....I think it was John Coltrane and Thelonious Monk at Carnegie Hall? Live jazz album from the '50s or '60s that I've been digging lately. Since you're our resident jazz fiend, I figured you'd heard of it.

Some albums by The Microphones.

It Was Hot We Stayed in the Water, Mount Eerie, and Glow Pt. 2. I tried Little Bird Flies Into A Big Black Cloud, but it's not good. I'll give it another shot some other day.

Tangy zizzle 12-19-2005 06:33 PM

The Microphones are the epitome of "cult" band.

Hey can you or anyone please recommend me a Woodie Guthrie album? I absolutly love the first Dylan album, and everyone says hes just trying to be Woodie Guthrie, so Im really interested in checking him out. Thanks.:smash:
I absolutly love the first Dylan album, and everyone says hes just trying to be Woodie Guthrie
That's because Guthrie was Dylan's biggest influence growing up.

Get Dust Bowl Ballads, it's considered to be his best work.

Yeah I knew he was his influence, but if i like early dylan, and dylan is trying to sound like woodie, then 2+2 i might dig this stuff...ha, anyways thanks alot for the help.

How do you like it?

I've been listening to Iron & Wine (surprise?) and Mono today.

Luxor 12-19-2005 11:41 PM

Not bad, kind of samey though.

Little Man being Erased 12-19-2005 11:47 PM

I'm listening to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco at this very moment and enjoying it. I can see myself loving this album in the near future.

Dangerdoom - The Mouse and the Mask

I wish this kind of instrumentals and rapping was more mainstream.

Little Man being Erased 12-20-2005 06:11 AM

I just picked up 29 by Ryan Adams. Listening through for the first time now, so far sounds pretty damn fine to me.

3rdplanet 12-20-2005 06:23 AM

Got my hands on Perdition City at last - ch00ns.
^^ Mmmmm, great soundtrack.
He's right.

'Just Like Honey' from that film is, for me, the greatest movie/music moment ever. I'm feeling all depressed from work and if I had time I would watch that film.

Glitterati 12-20-2005 12:34 PM

Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life - Again.

Good god this album/artist is amazing. So talented and uplifting :)

Anxious 12-20-2005 01:48 PM

I can't stop listening to Treasure by Cocteau Twins ( By the way can someone tell me how to pronounce "Cocteau?) and its pretty damn good. The first two tracks are the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard. Thank you, Zappa's avatar.

I would say that this is indubitable proof that you have sex with men, and thus you should be condemned by your peers for insufficient masculinity.

Zesty Mordant 12-20-2005 03:06 PM

does this mean i could never be a priest?

asdf 12-20-2005 03:19 PM
