Hey so can we not talk about teen suicide?

Aakon_Keetreh 12-03-2007 02:46 PM

waking the cadaver/

Mixed feelings at the moment

Tyler 12-03-2007 02:46 PM

Mixed how? Like you don't know whether to laugh, cry or just run away to France and become a mime?

LifeInABox 12-03-2007 02:47 PM

Third one sounds ghey :/

i am the robots 12-03-2007 02:48 PM

You see my instruments?
Hacksaw, eye screw, bonesaw... yeah you see what the **** I'm about.

Aakon_Keetreh 12-03-2007 02:48 PM

Mixed as if i dont know if i like it. Vocals kinda turned me off.

ATM 12-03-2007 02:48 PM

Hm..why was the King Diamond tour cancelled?

Also, any opinions on Vader? I'm looking at some upcoming gigs around me, don't know too much about them.

i am the robots 12-03-2007 02:49 PM

Personally, I think they're a disinteresting slopfest, and the Don Campen is a terrible vocalist.

And the King Diamond cancellation makes me sad.

Aakon_Keetreh 12-03-2007 02:51 PM

King diamond pwns.

Deth 12-03-2007 02:52 PM

He's in bad health apparently.

It makes me sad also.

i am the robots 12-03-2007 02:57 PM

Damn.
Mixed as if i dont know if i like it. Vocals kinda turned me off.
The vocals turned you off, but what about the horrible drumming and laughable riffs?

masscows 12-03-2007 03:35 PM
Hm..why was the King Diamond tour cancelled?
he's having back problems that didn't heal on time
Also, any opinions on Vader? I'm looking at some upcoming gigs around me, don't know too much about them.
they're alright, i wouldn't mind seeing them live. Malevolent Creation and Cattle Decapitation are on that bill too, right? It would be a good show.

Tyler 12-03-2007 03:36 PM

Slipknot's guitarist did a solo on the new Malevolent Creation.

lolol

what

Are you serious? That's so ****ing gay

Deth 12-03-2007 03:38 PM

It's like the movie Rudy in metal form.

Tyler 12-03-2007 03:39 PM
what

Yeah, Mick.

I mean he probably really did grow up on them and he probably is a solid enough guitarist but I can't take anything "Slipknot" seriously.
Second solo on "Deliver My Enemy": Mick Thompson
I think someone in MC is friends with him from a while back, I remember reading an interview with someone from Malevolent Creation and he was basically trying to justify the guest solo.

Still funny though.

AA-12 12-03-2007 03:40 PM

@Tyler: Yeah, that's how I feel completely.

Tyler 12-03-2007 03:41 PM

The song he played on is on their MySpace.

edit: and his solo is annoying but better than the first one in the song, it's just your typical lol im dissonant and sweeping lol BEND and now I'm doing a run! type of thing). The song is decent though.

pate 12-03-2007 03:46 PM

...what other type of solo is there, other than slow melodic ones

masscows 12-03-2007 03:48 PM

fast melodic ones or ones on different scales

or a combination

or pointless atonal shred solos

Tyler 12-03-2007 03:49 PM
...what other type of solo is there, other than slow melodic ones
stfu professor knowledge dropper

pate 12-03-2007 03:49 PM

He described those.

lolk

Black Dahlia Murder solos :p
Black Dahlia Murder solos :p
So, bad ones? :smash:

i am the robots 12-03-2007 05:45 PM

too many notes

VomitStainedCretin 12-03-2007 06:32 PM

What about kvlt esoteric Sumerian scale dissonant harmonic masturbations?

In other news, I've come to the conclusion that I quite like Suffocation, having acquired Effigy and Pierced from a friend. Some occassional musical troughs but enough peaks and variety to keep things more than interesting.

he's not that bad. i mean he can solo decently. i'd have to hear the solo before i made a judgement. honestly its a shame because he has some really great influences like Morbid Angel and Immolation. yet somehow he came up with Slipknot.

i'm in the middle of downloading osculum obscenum from Hypocrisy. i sampled it on itunes and it sounded a lot less gay than their newer stuff.
@pate

masscows 12-03-2007 07:07 PM

Entombed and Carcass are two of Slipknot's biggest influences too :x

pate 12-03-2007 07:16 PM

It's not a good thing that you know that.

masscows 12-03-2007 07:22 PM

my friend is a fan and he was talking about all the bands that influenced them, in spite of the fact that he's never heard any of them.

i am the robots 12-03-2007 07:29 PM

whoa people play different styles than their influences11!

ATM 12-03-2007 07:31 PM

I'll never forget the Slipknot fanboy I used to work with. He had us cracking up every day.

I'll never forget when he put on the Disturbed CD in a room full of all of the metal head stock guys hahah

masscows 12-03-2007 07:32 PM

One of Hacksaw To The Throat's biggest influences is Circle Takes The Square.

Wait, that's not very ironic. :/

yeah they sound like just about all rock & metal in existence thrown together

i am the robots 12-03-2007 07:41 PM

not quite. i was thinking more of the variation of melodic and spazzy parts and the dualing vocals thing, as well as the approach to clean passages.

masscows 12-03-2007 07:43 PM

I wasn't. What I've heard from them was odd, it was like it was familiar but at the same time hard to place.

And why did they break up? They were just picking up steam weren't they?
