so...you're worried about the wanting to shag guys thing...but not the penguin obsession? :p
Bestiality is good...

:s

Scratch that, I never said it!!! I don't want to be banned nooooo!!!!!!

Nah. Real reason is the Penguins will take over the world someday, us men won't. :D. I may as well be on the winning side.

I also found out that when I was really small I used to go to Beavers (like Scouts, but for really mini people - I was too small to remember it) and my patrol there was called "Penguins". That's purely coincidence.

As for the Blood Brothers thing, I didn't realise we were talking about bass. What I wrote was for the guitar. My powertab file doesn't have the bass on it, but on RiR it does sound like someone's strumming, so if it was bass it wouldn't suprise me too much.

I reserved my copy of DotR at HMV today...I'm going to wait for the DVD to come out.

Anyway, see you guys, I'm off to play The Pit at chess.
I too, was at Reading - best night of my fuggin'life. I'm in the middle of an in-depth review of Maiden's performance in the MXUK thread, I'll post links here once it's finished :)
I saw the show too, it was quite amazing. The only thing I have seen live that was close to the performance was The Pixies at the same festival.

crag 08-30-2005 09:17 AM

woah, the maiden website has changed

 the dotr dvd doesn't come out for another month

http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=401134

Lord Abortion 08-30-2005 09:45 AM

Bah... I need that bloody DVD

crag 08-30-2005 10:50 AM

Josh 08-30-2005 03:45 PM
My ticket for the Hammersmith Apollo gig came through today, can't wait. I also went into HMV the other day Maiden were "artist of the month" all of their albums going really cheap.
give us a review please, especially if setlist is different from Leeds / Reading!
man, that's gonna be one hell of a show, probably better than the Leeds one.

naboo 08-30-2005 07:17 PM

EDIT: Nevermind.

Anyway, when is Death on The Road going to be released in the US?

blockheads dead 08-30-2005 08:35 PM

I'm interested in getting into Iron Maiden and I want to buy some albums. What do you guys reccomend as my first Iron Maiden album?

YDload 08-30-2005 09:06 PM

The Number of the Beast is the best first Maiden album to get. That's how I got started, and I'm a big fan to this day.

Iron Man 08-30-2005 09:08 PM

Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind (my first), Powerslave, and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son are all goodies.

Thanks, I've heard Hallowed Be Thy Name, Children of the Damned, Number of the Beast, and Run to the Hills and I've liked them all so that album seems like a good choice. I've heard some other people suggest Killers as a first album, how does that compare?

You know, I haven't actually heard Maiden's first two...but Killers doesn't have the Air Raid Siren. Get NotB.

Huber 08-30-2005 11:21 PM

The first 3 Bruce albums are all great to start with. I got all three of them at once for my first IM listens and all were pretty easy to get into.
The Number of the Beast is the best first Maiden album to get. That's how I got started, and I'm a big fan to this day.
My first album was Powerslave, which remains my favourite Maiden record. It's a really good introduction to them, some of the harmonies are amazing.

-The Frank 08-31-2005 06:29 AM

everyone vote iron maiden in the next discography thread...i need some more maiden cds

Deth 08-31-2005 06:39 AM

I voted Iced Earth. You should be buying the Maiden albums. *shakes fist*

-The Frank 08-31-2005 06:56 AM

^ i know...im a bad person :upset: :upset:

im buying 3 in like two days, i deserve like a free cd or something

Deth 08-31-2005 06:59 AM

I do that too. Buy 2 and my conscience allows me to download a third.

shamed-angel 08-31-2005 07:02 AM
I voted Iced Earth. You should be buying the Maiden albums. *shakes fist*
It even says not to download their music inside Dance of Death. Bad Bitches.

Deth 08-31-2005 07:05 AM

Very true. And you don't want to disappoint Maiden do you?

-The Frank 08-31-2005 07:05 AM

:ashamed: :upset:

shamed-angel 08-31-2005 07:07 AM

You should be...

Theif.

Lord Abortion 08-31-2005 07:07 AM

Never DL maiden...bad folks...

that can be for other baichy bands but not the true Gods....
hang your heads in shame...

Josh 08-31-2005 07:07 AM

i just find it funny that even though CDs are "copy-protected" i can still copy them, all the copy-protection does is stop them playing properly on my discman :upset: so i can't listen to Dance of Death or Brave New World in my car.

GurS 08-31-2005 07:09 AM

For a first album, I'd say it depends whether you are after a studio album or not: if you are, got for NOTB. If not, get Edward The Great - it was designed with the aim of introducing people to Maiden.

Deth 08-31-2005 07:10 AM
For a first album, I'd say it depends whether you are after a studio album or not: if you are, got for NOTB. If not, get Edward The Great - it was designed with the aim of introducing people to Maiden.
Where did that come from? You must be stuck in recommendation mode.

*slaps around head to knock out of recommendation mode*

Lord Abortion 08-31-2005 07:17 AM

dudes...get POM, X-factor or Seventh son

-The Frank 08-31-2005 07:19 AM
You should be...

Theif.
 i dont want to get in my whole downloading speech so ill make this quick and short. If a album is $12 dollars the artist is only getting .99 cents of it. If anything the record stores are the theifs.

anyway i have never downloaded any iron maiden albums. i always buy the album beforehand.

I've just started my Maiden collection in the last two weeks, I've bought Powerslave and Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son so far. Live After Death and Number Of The Beast are next on the hit list.

-The Frank 08-31-2005 07:22 AM

^ buy killers and iron maiden ----both are my personal favorites

ps. after looking at all my iron maiden cds, i decided to put them in order from earliest to newest. For some reason i just noticed that if you look at the side and you have them all in order it shows a picture of eddie :amaze: everyone here has probably metioned this beofre but i just noticed it. its quite cool. I believe it shows the first maiden cover? correct me if im wrong
