If you have seen this video, you would know why my avatar is so funny.
I don't think the video is that funny. It's too direct. Plus I don't think constant sexual innuendos make good comedy.

Jom 06-06-2005 09:15 PM
I've been deleting request bumps and "THANK YOU!" posts as a matter of course, just so you know. In case anyone refers to a post that doesn't look like it's there to you.
Hm. I was wondering why it was looking so tidy.

Many thanks, by the way... although I'm sure you know by now that I greatly appreciate your efforts.

ATM 06-06-2005 09:25 PM

Sup all?

To whoever asked, I like Damien Rice. I think that Dancin Man does too.

I just had a band practice. We recorded the craziest song, with my friend on keyboard. I'll post it once I get it in mp3 format. You guys will laugh when you hear it.

That's not funny.

What is funny are the vids of people falling into big empty spaces and dying, and the gibbon that ****ing pwns two tigers.

I added you as well.

Illmatic 06-06-2005 09:51 PM

I think AH is out rioting in the streets of Detroit.

That's what they do when the Pistons win.

Dancin' Man 06-06-2005 09:58 PM

I added you folks as well

Thanks. I've had to delete precious few in this new thread though, so people are definitely getting better.

That was really cool for the most part. There was rarely a moment that I was bored, or waiting for the next part to come along. Sounded good.

Glad you liked the Cocteau Twins song in Forced Listening, by the way. I saw you wondered what she was singing, but I can't help you at all. Liz Fraser has an incredible voice, but whatever she's singing (whether it's in the Cocteau Twins, or on Massive Attack's Teardrop) is notoriously difficult to decipher. As far as I know she's never said anything in interviews or anything, and the albums have no lyrics in their booklets.

Dancin' Man 06-06-2005 10:18 PM

Hmmmm... I think I'll investigate her further, at least ot hear more of her. She has a very attractive voice. Also, thanks for the quick review of my song.

Illmatic 06-06-2005 10:19 PM

I like "Teardrop" by Massive Attack...I want to get into them a little more.

Bartender 06-06-2005 10:26 PM

I think that's the only song by them she appears on, unfortunately. They're very much worth checking out further anyway, though. I can upload something, if you like.

It would have been longer, but I couldn't think of much to say. It was just interesting, if you see what I mean. Held my attention throughout. I didn't want to say interesting though, because it kind of implies that it's just weird and not actually very good.. I don't think I share you love of pinch harmonics, though :)

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-06-2005 10:31 PM

So I just got back from this end of the season spring sports awards banquet. I almost fell asleep. The only thing that kept me awake was that I was counting the number of times the girls track coach said the word 'um.'

I got to 35 and gave up.

As in DonMancini?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-06-2005 10:58 PM

Yeah. That guy's RATM thread is still going strong. I haven't really noticed his absence, as he rarely ever posted where I did.

CemetaryGates9 06-06-2005 11:53 PM

WOw, bright blue style is literally frightening

Illmatic 06-07-2005 12:07 AM

BTW, I'm going through existential angst'd.

I'm lying here trying to sleep and I can't help but wonder what just may well happen down the road, I'll be a mediocre person living out my life in a mediocre town working at a mediocre job. Trapped in Nowheresville USA punching a clock at some white-collar job, wondering what the hell went wrong. After all, only the rich can do what they want. The rest of us have to settle.

I hate it when I'm like this.

CemetaryGates9 06-07-2005 12:12 AM

That state of mind sucks shit.

The remedy: post on MX till you fall asleep. You'll feel better in the morning.

As for me: I'm gonna drink a Pepsi and read about nechrophilia.

Permanent Solution 06-07-2005 12:32 AM
Life is useless
Just because you aren't doing what would be considered by most to be exemplary doesn't mean you can't be thrilled with a "mediocre" life.

ArcLite 06-07-2005 12:37 AM

What's going on, Vince? Haven't seen you in a while. Ray, your mediorce life is my goal for life. I dream of a "get your hands dirty" job in a small/medium town, Sunday football games with the fellas, go to the bar on fridays...My desired life is just your run of the mill, nothing fancy life.

Permanent Solution 06-07-2005 12:39 AM

Hah, well sadly I'm going to bed here shortly as well, but not much has been up, just lots of work.

My dream life changes all of the time. I think though, that I'm glad I don't know what I want from life yet, because once I do know, I can only be disappointed not getting it. Flexibilty keeps contentment maximized.

A solid approach I suppose. Mine works that way too. Unless shit really goes down the drain, I don't see myself having anything less than I previously described. So, anything better than that will be bonus.

I would consider living a life that would not be personally fulfilling to be a "mediocre" one.

Bartender 06-07-2005 12:52 AM

When I grow up, I want to be the enchanting wizard of rhythm.

Right, but who's to say you wouldn't enjoy living a so-called average life?

So I'm going to bed, but ponder that hah.

Arucard 06-07-2005 01:12 AM

Well, as i have two more GCSE's today (Maths and ICT) and they are both very hard, i hope they go well so i can have my dream of waking up, going to work as a geek computer programmer and getting back at 7, only to waste the night away once again on the lovely internet.

One problem. I need to drink, so i will go out to the pub every Friday and Saturday.

Wish me luck beotches.

Lord Abortion 06-07-2005 02:40 AM

good luck man...

again.

anyhoo my dream in life...

I'd like to work as a black metal vocalist.

If that goes nowhere then I want to be a lecturer in English literature at some university

I'd love to, but I'm already singing for the maiden thread

If there is no rule against it then I will, we'd have to ask AH
I would consider living a life that would not be personally fulfilling to be a "mediocre" one.
It's not because you don't have the job of your dreams that you can't enjoy your life outside of work. :)

Personally, I don't need to make millions a year, as long as I have enough money to buy my CD's, a good guitar + other instruments and enough money to go to ye pub. I don't need to live in a Castle. :)
When I grow up, I want to be the enchanting wizard of rhythm.
A rapper?

superpeer 06-07-2005 06:51 AM

Hahaha, I just got a text message on my phone. It said:

"Gawain is gay"

(We have a literature exam tomorrow :) )

I just posted the new Monday Night Madness thread. I also hear Jelle wants to kill me. *quakes in fear*

Cain 06-07-2005 08:31 AM

I'm deaf in my left ear today. I have a doctor's appointment at 11:15 to check for earwax blockage. I hope I'm able to hear by later today. :(

Dancin' Man 06-07-2005 08:35 AM

I hope you heal. If not, can I have all your music stuff?

Cain 06-07-2005 08:37 AM
I hope you heal. If not, can I have all your music stuff?
Sure. :p But I get to keep my Finale program so that I can at least try to be the next Beethoven. :)

Anyway, I think it's just earwax blockage. I'll go to the doctor and he'll just pull it out with tweezers or something.
