My friend got dreads in June and they look ****ing awesome now.
Ask your friend how she/he washed them when they were new.

AIRIC 01-22-2007 09:18 PM

You just wash it with water and dread soap.

me likes punk 01-22-2007 09:26 PM

Sweet. Thank you Eric.

Henrik 01-23-2007 03:20 PM

The site I posted says that too!

Positively Rob 01-23-2007 07:13 PM

I used dr. bronner shampoo when I had dreads, it's great, all natural and fair traded. I didn't use wax and my dreads looked good for like 5 days (maybe my friend and I did it wrong?) and then I took them out and cut my long hair. I'm not trying to discourage you, but back comb very tightly! And maybe try wax?

I know, Baby. I just wanted to know if I needed to do anything special when washing new dreads. The site you gave me doesn't say much about washing them when they're new.

And to Rob, I will definatly use wax and comb back tightly. Thanks for le tips.

My hair's only about four inches long, so It'll be a few months before I try these out. That should give me enough time to decide if I truly want them or not.
I think he gets custom fitted shirts or summat, 'cause the boy's 6 feet tall but skinny as all getout.

Never seen him in a baggy shirt, but his shirts always come down all the way. Confuses me, it does.

But thanks mans, thanks.
I'm 6'1" and wear smalls...

If you think you can pull it off go for it. I thought my friend was going to look bad and he did for the first few months but now it really does look great.

So are guys shirts just extra long or something?

Seriously.

I don't understand at all.

'Cause as far as chick shirts go, there are some of the larger variety that I can wear like a minidress.

But it sounds like you guys don't have quite the same problem.

Flagjacket 01-23-2007 08:34 PM

They make tall tees and stuff.....

Sunshine 01-23-2007 08:36 PM

I just mean like.

Standard t-shirts.

Like.

Band t-shirts and crap.

I dunno i wear smalls and mediums and they fit fine depending on the brand they print on I have to get mediums so the sleeves arent too short.

Flagjacket 01-23-2007 08:42 PM

I'm about 5"10 ish, I wear large tees but mediums fit too just the sleeves don't go as far down my arms as I'd like.

Sunshine 01-23-2007 08:43 PM

Mmm.

Ah well.

I'm almost done with that backpatch...he's lookin' for a plain hoodie right now anyway, it'd be perfect for his back.

I'm going to give it a month or so if I do. Everytime I get a haircut or change the style, it looks aweful for a few weeks.

Youre just not used to seeing yourself that way is all.

me likes punk 01-23-2007 08:47 PM

I know, that's why I'll give it a month to get used to looking at myself in mirrior.

Converge#12 01-23-2007 09:19 PM

Any ideas what I should make my girlfriend for Valentines Day? I know it's a few weeks away but I want time to plan.

Sunshine 01-23-2007 09:22 PM

Really? It takes a month?

Every single one of my haircuts I've loved INSTANTLY.

As have everybody else I know.

'Cept the hawk. I loved it at first, most of the others did, but a lot of people were a little...O.o

coheneran 01-23-2007 09:23 PM

Make her a shirt that says, "Reclaim Love, Subvert Valentines Day!" I like this sort of design: http://www.o-i-l.net/20060211card1.gif

Ninja EDIT: They may be damn hippies, but they sure know how to throw a good street party.

Sunshine 01-23-2007 09:27 PM

Hmmm. V-day.

See. I'm not doing anything for my boyfriend for V-day.

Because that's his birthday.

Haaaah.

coheneran 01-24-2007 05:50 AM

See, if that were me, I'd be expecting something more than a rose and a peck on the cheek.

Sunshine 01-24-2007 08:37 AM

I was thinking more along the lines of..."It really sucks because your birthday is the same day as a holiday, so everybody celebrates that holiday instead of your birthday, so I, being the awesome person I am, am going to focus soley on your birthday 'cause I know how much it sucks having it lumped in with something else."

My birthday is 6 days before Christmas.

While it's not the same day, people still feel the need to lump them together.

Except my mom. She won't put up the decorations until after my birthday.

AIRIC 01-24-2007 12:46 PM

My birthday is in July right after summer starts and I love that.

Hang up one of those tacky "Happy Xth Birthday" banners over your bed, and give him a really long blow job (the kind where he has to tell you if he's coming so that you can stop and wait for a bit, and then start again to drag it out).

Sunshine 01-24-2007 08:58 PM

Hahahahahahahahaha, genious.

Except we havn't been together that long.

Will have to keep that in mind though =P

AIRIC 01-24-2007 08:59 PM

Oh you dirty dirty girl.

Okay anyway lets change the subject before you press charges.

coheneran 01-25-2007 02:07 AM

OK. I can't think of anything else to give to him that'd be quite as funny or dirty, so I'll just hold out 'til April 1st when you tell him you're pregnant/tested positive for chlamydia/scared of semen.

Delete where necessary.

Sunshine 01-25-2007 08:47 PM

Also genious.
