Forged by Fire is great too. Gus G is probably better at making the Manowar, Hammerfall sort of classic Heavy Metal sound, but Allegiance is undeniably awesome.

Surtr 01-28-2008 07:47 AM

Alright guys, I've been lacking my Power Metal lately. A lot to be honest. And so I need your help.

Help me hunt down a mad sick band, I'm up for pretty much anything, but it needs to be proper sick ****, and it preferably should be based on History.

:)

I will Rep++ anyone who suggests me something that I think I'll like.

Surtr 01-28-2008 08:24 AM

Rhapsody any good? I'm downloading/checking out their Live In Canada album.

Tyr 01-28-2008 08:48 AM

Rhapsody are good, if you can stand massive amounts of cheese. One of my favourite Power Metal bands.

Tyler 01-28-2008 09:11 AM

Well, they can be great. But they can be absolutely awful.

I like the gag-inducing cheese though. It's fun...

"FLY HIGH, MIGHTY THAROS"

Surtr 01-28-2008 09:25 AM

Ok, listening to 'em now. And I can stand it for sure. This shit is epic as fuck.

I miss listening to Power Metal a lot :(

Tyr 01-28-2008 09:29 AM

Their best albums are Power of the Dragonflame and Symphony of Enchanted Lands Part 2 - The Dark Secret, imo.

Tyler 01-28-2008 09:37 AM

I like the first Symphony of Enchanted Lands as well. The more organic instruments on the second one are great but the first one always did it for me. Or used to; I haven't listened to Rhapsody OF FIRE!!! in forever

Surtr 01-28-2008 09:37 AM

I couldn't find a decent Torrent of Enchanted Lands Pt. II - The Dark Secret.

And my Ratio on What.cd is getting mad outa' hand...

Tyler 01-28-2008 09:40 AM

I went nuts on free-leech time on Waffles to get my ratio up. Having a majorly throttled upload speed is a biatch on torrent sites.

Surtr 01-28-2008 09:42 AM

I can't even upload Torrents.

Its really gay.

So my Ratio is like completely fucked and really high.

Yeah, but part two has got Christopher Lee, which is always a bonus.

I can upload it for you, if you want.

Surtr 01-28-2008 09:50 AM

That'd be mad sick of you. Would you? :)

Tyr 01-28-2008 09:51 AM

Sure, just post your mail and I´ll send as soon as I've uploaded it.

Aye, I'd have to say that I agree that Pt. II has WAY more Organic sounding instruments. They're A LOT less Synthesized sounding.

Edit: Yo' Tyr, what're the odds you've got a Tyr album you could send me? I'm hunting What.cd and I'm not getting anything. And they look potentially good.

Haha, I've got Eric the Red. I'll send it as soon as it's uploaded.

You are the most epic poster alive.

Haha today alone has provided me with 2 new albums to check, that were mad sick, and now some Tyr to top it off.

Not to mention the name and avatar change.

Well, they actually recorded with an Orchestra for it.

Surtr 01-28-2008 12:46 PM

Oic. That would explain why they actually sound real lol.

Ragnarok is overall a better album imo. I have Ramund hin Unge on myspace profile though.

Týr are a progressive metal band anyway

They're apparently a mix of Prog. and Power. But I have no idea.

Tyler 01-28-2008 01:03 PM

I think he was just asking because he had the opportunity too. They're more Prog/Fiking. Two made up genres coming together for fun times.

Haven't heard it.

I'm guessing my user name reminded him that he wanted to check them out.

Surtr 01-28-2008 01:05 PM

Haha yeah, I had heard of 'em a while back. But then I saw your user name and was like.."Damn I wonder.."
