I always thought Cyneric was someone else. So you're the guy who likes to make fun of how non-elite I am. Nice.

Sorry, I really wanted to do that. You can get back to your doom metal now.

Jom 01-22-2006 07:49 PM

I'm really glad for Pittsburgh going, because Bettis is from Detroit, and that's where the Super Bowl is. It'll probably be his last game, so I hope he goes out on top.

On the other hand, Seattle is my city. I love Seattle. All this week, I kept saying "I hope it's Seattle/Denver or Carolina/Pittsburgh," but that's not the case :upset:

I've also decided that I'm jackass of all trades, which makes for success and for failure. Hooray!

jpj 01-22-2006 07:51 PM

Yea, Carolina is getting totally owned right now. I don't think either of NFC teams pose a major threat to Pittsburgh.

MBS 01-22-2006 07:52 PM

Hey, why was "Riva is a liar" banned?

Edit: Nevermind, just checked. Legitimate reason, too. I shouldn't have voted.

Shadows 01-22-2006 07:54 PM

Hehehe, my friend is going to be pissed. He's been on his girlfriend for a week about this game because she loves Pittsburgh but he's a diehard Denver fanboy. Now I can make his life hell.

Lunch 01-22-2006 07:59 PM
Yea, Carolina is getting totally owned right now. I don't think either of NFC teams pose a major threat to Pittsburgh.
I'm really happy about Pittsburgh. They are always my back up team since the Jets suck and I hate all the other teams. The Steelers can easily beat either of the NFC teams, they just have to keep playing like they have been.

Jom 01-22-2006 08:05 PM

I think Seattle vs. Pittsburgh will be a good game. Pitt's offense was off the chain today; it's usually their defense that dominates. Well, their D did well, but they have been more dominant, for sure. And Seattle's O is always on top of its game, really, but their D has really turned up their guns throughout the playoffs. So, I think it'll be interesting to watch. I hope it's not a blowout, like the Baltimore/NYG game a couple years ago. That game SUCKED.

That, and you get to see all the Super Bowl commercials! Oh, yeah!

Lunch 01-22-2006 08:08 PM

I think Seattle is overrated, personally. I don't think they are very good, although Carolina is trying to prove me wrong.

robo2448 01-22-2006 08:11 PM

I think Pittsburgh will win. I wanted Carolina to make it too. My original superbowl pick was Patriots vs. Carolina rematch, so yeah, I lost some money. But go Pittsburgh now.

Anyone know who's performing at halftime? McCartney rocked last year.

jpj 01-22-2006 08:19 PM
I hope it's not a blowout, like the Baltimore/NYG game a couple years ago. That game SUCKED.
It definitely won't be, but I think Pittsburgh will pull through.

Jom 01-22-2006 08:26 PM

I think Seattle is balanced in all three aspects of the game. I can't say whether or not they're overrated, because I don't read the newspaper anymore because I hate reading them online :upset:

But yeah, offense is stellar. Hasselbeck now compared to Hasselbeck a couple years ago has grown by leaps and bounds. Alexander is arguably the best back in the league, and their main trio of receivers can do the job.

Defense doesn't get a lot of talk, but their line and linebacking corps are good, and their secondary is great.

And they have a good punter and a superb kicker.

Pittsburgh is just as balanced on all three sides. I think they're bigger than Seattle, but Seattle has more speed and their offense is designed to find holes in zone coverage, and their receivers are tough enough to handle man coverage.

I just want it to be a good game. Bottom line.

Oh, and good commercials in between action. That'd rule. Couldn't care less about the halftime show, especially with the Rolling Stones performing.

Odd.

I'm rooting for Seattle, but I'm just happy Denver isn't in it. Actually after Denver and Indy got out I couldn't careless who won. My Eagles sucked it this year. The Cowboys did better then I expected, which wasn't a lot.

Jom 01-22-2006 08:42 PM

The only thing I've liked from the Stones is when they were on The Simpsons and ran a rock and roll retreat which Marge sent Homer to and Homer stole the show and all the old rock stars got pissed and set a giant devilhead on wheels breathing fire after Homer.

Otherwise, I couldn't care less about "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" or any other song from them.
They're old, wrinkly, and scare the children.
This is a terrific reason, too.

I'm not saying they're bad, but Paul McCartney's performances of late absolutely ruled.

I mean, I'd rather take Ozzy Osbourne's performance for the NFL than the Stones. And that's saying something :p

The thing I remember about the last year was when Paul was singing Hey Jude and everyone was waving candles and stuff, there were these 3 guys completely decked out in Sean Paul, Rocawear, and bling are not moving a muscle while everyone else was completely getting into it.

In this post: I post a lame meme because I like to stall.

Are you the 2% or 98% of the world's population?

Follow the instructions! NO PEEKING AHEAD ZOMG!
* Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow.
* Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can! Don't advance until you've done each of them.
* Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something).

Think of a number from 1 to 9

Multiply that number by 9

Add the digits of this new number together

Now subtract 5 from the number you just came up with

Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with
(example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c, 4=d, etc.)

Think of a country that starts with that letter

Remember the last letter of the name of that country

Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter

Remember the last letter in the name of that animal

Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter

OMG are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange?

If not, you're among the 2% of the population whose minds are different enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark when given this exercise. OMG SPOOKY *shakes fingers*

Yeah, I should do some reading now.

There were too many samples, backing tracks, and pinch harmonics there for me to even see it as anything other than pathetic.

But Ozzy in that football jersey struck a smile, I admit.

Personally, I was a fan of him spazzing and demanding that everyone clap their hands.

He also had a crazy amount of make-up on. Watching him prance around in a jersey with tons of make-up on stage yelling at the crowd to clap their hands is hilarious to me.

And yeah, Zakk Wylde is a pinch harmonic wanker.
