Jelle should watch this, because he loves Power Metal so much :p. i'd love to see these guys live, but i'll just have to wait until they do a proper UK tour :(. but on Feb. 1st it's DragonForce, Edguy and Sabaton, which should be awesome. on the revision / school subject: i have 2 exams this month - physics on the 20th and geography on the 24th, but i'm more bothered about the interview i've got at Durham university on monday. well, 2 interviews actually - 1 for the course, 1 for the college. |

Yep. YouTube is amazing too. |
there's also a lot of crap on youtube as well, more so than on google. like people thinking they're cool pretending to play songs.

Google Video is still in beta. Give it time to catch up. |
I'm supposed to do writing an essay, along with revising for an exam, both for Friday. I've spent roughly the last two hours 'writing my essay', in which time I've actually listened to My Sharona several times over, brushed my teeth for an extended period, and read about my University and the Russell Group and the fact that I am apparently a member of the Aldwych Group. The essay isn't going well.
Ah, at least you're quite productive. In such situations, I end up staring at the ceiling :p What is this essay about anyway?
Has anyone else around here ever listened to Nekromantix? I wish I'd found this band sooner.
What genre are they? I Am Vikingcore Banned again?! Just lots of free time! :thumb: Also, if your computer is really that bad, a few minor upgrades that'll cost you a grand total of under $200 and you'll be fine to play most games out there, including WoW. If you are computer hardware illterate, feel free to hit me up on AIM (DethRider 0) and I can help you out. |

I think it's been defective from the very beginning and I feel like I've been ripped off. This is why I'm afraid of buying a new one now. I dont want to risk being fooled again and spending money on a defective machine :( |

What company did you buy it from? (And, trust me, building it yourself is always better) |
I refuse to play WoW, just because im trying the avoid the same type of addiction that i had with diablo for a good two years in high school.

This is the true meaning of life! Or so I suppose. I've only been addicted to Pokemon in my life...
Anyone who was not addicted to Pokemon is NOT a l33t g4m3r!!! :p Putting together a computer is really quite simple. All you need are the chips, a case and some screwdrivers. Also, it saves you a boatload of cash (even if you order from an American manufacturer and have to pay International shipping). If you ever really want a new one, I can recommend some PC building companies here to get a pre-built one or walk you through the process of building one. Just lemme know. I'm way too eager to help people out with computer issues. I'm such a technophile it's stupid. Or smart, depending on your viewpoint. |

And by the way, do you have any experience with consoles (Xbox VS PS2)? |
WoW I won't play because I think it's blasphemy to pay 15 bucks a month for a game.
The only games I have that aren't too scratched to read are Medal Of Honor Allied Assault (the one back in 2000ish), Warcraft 3 (and expansion pack) and a demo of Unreal Tournament 2004. |
I was onto Warcraft III for a while, but it's been a long time.
Religiously, today was the worst day of my life. |

Please elaborate. I've had a lot of people bring up the subject of religion lately, and thus, it's been on my mind a lot. (See my one thread at Creatopia for evidence :p) |

I modded by Xbox (It now has the X chromed and red lights above every controller port, as well as the power button). But, as for playing them, I guess it really all depends on your tastes. If you want action, get an Xbox along with games like the Halo and Prince of Persia Series, as well as the Unreal Championship games. If you're more into fantasy role-playing games and the like, I'd go with PS2 for Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts (And the SOCOM series is fun as hell over the net, if you have broadband). |

In a nutshell, I finally told my mom that I don't really care about Christianity, and she exploded. She said some things that really hurt and she's still pissed off right now. I haven't been to Creatopia in some time. It seemed so dead over there. |

They judge you just as any other person (sometimes positively, sometimes negatively), only you can choose your friends, but are stuck with your family. I'm sorry your mom feels the need to judge you so harshly, but I give you big props for having the balls to come out to her about your beliefs. Regarding the Creatopia thing, Josh and I had a huge revelation around 1 o'clock in the morning while talking on AIM one day over vacation, and I made a thread about it. |

Even before I turned 17, my parents were cool with M games. My dad would play Vice City with me some times. |
Speaking of M games, I'm really liking Resident Evil 4 right now. It's not nearly as creepy as the others but still a good game. Plus, it's really huge.

EDIT: Rating system is different over here, but my mam bought me GTA when I was about 13/14 (? can't remember when it came out).
So my parents have always been fine with stuff like that.
In a nutshell, I finally told me mom that I don't really care about Christianity, and she exploded. The way you talk about it here I'd have though she'd at least have had a hint of your feelings by now anyway.
What's the essay on?
Sartre. Choice of five questions; since I'm bored: 1. According to Sartre, in what ways and to what extent does consciousness reveal the external world to us? Is he correct? 2. What does Sartre mean by "nothingness"? Is this concept coherent? 3. Critically examine the metaphysics of Sartre's conception of freedom. 4. What are Sartrean authenticity and bad faith? Are they genuinely possible? 5. Is Sartre committed to an unpalatable moral subjectivism? Starting the essay took many hours - watched a (great) film at one point - but once I got it started writing came reasonably easy, and I drew a line around 700 words. Though I seem to have used a worrying amount of what I was going to say already :-/ |
