Mudvayne have always stood out from most of the nu-metal crowd, at least for me.

The amount of typos I originally had in this post was unbelivable :(

YDload 05-21-2005 06:22 PM

I'm done counting up all the nominations! Ugh. Soon I will unveil the top 100 R&M bassists!

There were like 276 nominations, so less than half of them made it. But it's a pretty good list I think, even though I'm not pleased with the order as it stands.

Bartender 05-21-2005 06:25 PM
Well, perhaps I think otherwise :p

On another note, I'm gonna go CD shopping on Monday. Bye bye £150.00 :D
Nice. I'd like to join you, but you know, saving money for holiday. Make sure to give us a list of what you buy?

I never realy liked what I heard by Mudvayne. Nonpoint were my nu metal standouts (the first album, anyway).

Well, that's to be expected on a forum such as this... not everyone knows about a majority of the more talented bassists, so yeah, everyone will go to the mainstream.

I'll look forward to it, though.

EDIT: Also, thanks for the Minutemen upload in the YSI thread.

You would've be subjected to it anyway, as per usual.

Hehe, good on you. On of my friends, who I haven't seen for about 2 years now :-/, started a save the Monkeys fund in physics. Good times...

Just because I threadstarted the YSI thread != I am going to upload everything :)

But if you choose to do that, more power to you. Not only do I appreciate it, the others do as well.

I mean, come on, you were the first (and only) user who has been recognized for his help in that thread.

Here's a snippet of bassists who didn't make the cut. As you can see, I was not above editorializing the list when it came time to count Eleventeen's votes. :)

171. Fieldy (Korn) HA HA hA hA HA HA
172. Dave DeRooADEMA HA HA HA
173. Keller Williams (What?)
174. Some Linkin Park Faggot (Sucks)
175. John DeFarrella (Opeth)
176. Jean-Yves Theriault (Voivod)
177. Marco Hietala (Nightwish)
178. Pete Steele (Type O Negative)
179. Eddie Jackson (Queensryche)

Yup. He's my evil twin.

Well, not so much evil as bitter that I got all the pretty genes.
It's not that I have a problem with the new Mudvayne, it's just how disappointed I was in their sound last night.
Yeah, I've heard things about Mudvayne not being the best live. I still want to see them because they are one of my favorite bands at the moment.

... L.D.50 is just so **** good.
Mudvayne have always stood out from most of the nu-metal crowd, at least for me.
They have for me as well. Them and SOAD are the two nu-metal bands I fully respect. I have sort of lost my liking of Slipknot over the past few months. Their music has just started to sound all the same to me.

You don't even know who Keller Williams is!? Jeez. You've dissapointed me. :upset:

New experience tonight...

Had sex for an hour and then decided it was taking too much effort and she was done so I just...stopped. Never thought I give up like that. Meh, whatever.

Anyway, spent all day with the Friend and the Girl. The Friend was doing a photoshoot of the Girl and I. We got really dressed up and walked around and modeled. It was a lot of fun. We're doing it again tomorrow morning in a beautiful mansion of a house. Should be a good time.

Also, how could Phoenix (guy from LP) be nominated? You can't hear him in any LP song because he just doubles the guitar chords and is super low in the mix.

Hey, I'm the only person who nominated Brian Wilson, the guy from Blind Melon, the guy from Derek and the Dominoes, and any number of greats that were swept under the rug! Don't insinuate that I don't know bass!

Dancin' Man 05-21-2005 09:44 PM

I'm still upset about Sean Malone. And the fact that I forgot to nominate Tony Choy, the man who played in 2 of the greatest death metal bands ever. Cynic AND Atheist.

Wait, who's The Friend?

Also, pics plz :p

/wishes he had more to say

TheDMV 05-21-2005 09:54 PM

YDload, where did John Cale end up?

Dancin' Man 05-21-2005 09:55 PM

The Friend is basically our best friend. We are a trio. A main reason the girl and I are together is because the Friend started ditching us for her boyfriend so we spent a lot of time together. Anyway, when she makes prints, I'll borrow the negatives and scan them. I'm rocking the Brooks Brother's suit which is cool IMO. Especially since it fits perfectly and was only $7. My dad found it at the Salvation Army on half price day. The most impressive Salvo find I have ever heard of.

With the dozens of other bassists who got two votes. I guess if I had to, I'd put him at about 120 or so.

It's been sold out all weekend at practically every theater within a good 30 miles or so here, so I haven't had the chance to see it. But I want to see it sometime while it's still in theaters.

no spoilerz plz

CemetaryGates9 05-21-2005 10:57 PM

Spoiler allert : Annakin becomes Darth Vader.

I had to do that.

The sound went out for a good five minutes at one point, but they got to rewind it.

BoboTheRagingHobo 05-21-2005 10:59 PM

I was going to see Star Wars today...but I get all the way to the theater to see it and the showing was sold out.

I drove all the way there for nothing...how annoying.

CemetaryGates9 05-21-2005 11:01 PM

I had the opportunity to go Friday, but I went to a party, which was better than the movie.

heavy metal kid 05-21-2005 11:14 PM

Only one week (it technically IS the 22nd here, after all) til my gf comes here

My summer will definitely pick up when she comes here, so I felt I had to say it.

Also, apparently we may still go to Chicago this summer, although I'm not about to get my hopes up.
