why should i
1- You're 12
2- Underoath is neither hardcore nor emo and you'll get flamed for liking them...that's just how it is here.
3- You're yet to make one constructive post that I've seen
4- No one here wants you to post

I'm trying to stop everyone from flaming the crap out of you...

My patience is running out. People here have offered to YSI things for you to help you learn and hear more about this genre, yet you have consistently kept a closed mind and still made no efforts to learn about hardcore in the least, even after numerous suggestions from various posters. Just f.ucking leave.

Underoath isn't emo, you idiot! MCR is emo, duh! UO wears different girl pants than the guys (?) from MCR do and they and scream so they're clearly screamo.

Seriously, cut your losses and get steppin'...don't wanna see you get flamed, kk?
does anyone know a thread that has something good about underoath
Once again, THIS IS THE HARDCORE/EMO forum, so since Underoath are not a hardcore related band they would not be found here. Go to pop-punk. And i'm starting to feel dumb for replying, because I think rememberthis is a fake account.

Wow 03-28-2006 05:31 PM

<3 Gav's sarcasm that rememberthis will probably confuse for seriousness and use to start a constructive conversation about MCR with.
I think you what you mean is that screamo is the chaotic form of 90's emo, and the answer is no. Emo is a constantly evolving genre, even today you can't say there is a specific sound to it. We have bands like Ampere, and Hot Cross, and Gospel who all sound soo different, but are still considered to be a part of the same scene and genre. Similarly there were a few bands who took on a more chaotic approach in the scene, and for some reason we have decided to call that "screamo" and any band that exists during and after these chaotic bands are also labeled "screamo", and then "screamo" is viewed as the new "emo". This is false. Emo changes, that doesn't constitute a new genre, its mostly an innovative genre so to make subgenres from "emo" would be absolutely ridiculous and unecessarily time consuming. So there was some bands who took on a more screamy-chaotic approach, big deal. So there are bands now that take on a more technical approach, do they need a genre? We have bands that like to use viola or violin in songs, does that mean we need a subgenre for them too? As you can see..its just utterly ridiculous.

underoath is emo
Let me explain something to you son. Underoath are a lame pop-punk band that is part of a bastardization of music that MTV has been a part of since the channel began. First it was metal, then grunge, then alternative, then punk, metal again, and now metalcore/emo. You seriously just need to leave this forum because, unless underoath creates an album that is similar to Document 3, any attempt of you saying they are emo is pointless. The band has no hardcore in their sound and very little if any emotion and the emotion that is present is the emotion happiness knowing they are getting rich off you and millions of other morons on this planet that buy that shit. Now GET THE FUCK OUT.

Wow 03-28-2006 05:43 PM

Underoath aren't pop-punk.
