Something tells me that our list of power metal bands with good lyrics is going to be very small...

I always have the impression the Sonata Arctica's lyrics were decent at besr, but I've really only listened to their first two albums extensively

I think both Reckoning Night and Unia have very good lyrics, while their other ones...not so much.

Ok, I'll have to check those out more. Any other bands?

They are awesome but I'm sick of him posting about it insistently. We all know this, you dont have to go LOST HORIZON IS BETTER or DANIEL IS BETTER at every opportunity.

Not that I can think of at the moment. I'm sure there's more out there, but they're not springing to mind...

I only put Manowar down because I'm reading a lot of Robert E Howard lately. That made more sense before I wrote it down.

I dunno, I always thought Tarot were...well...significantly more heavy than most power metal. I'd consider them more of a heavy metal vein than power.

Same with me. Marco has a power metal type of voice, but they have never been quite cheestastic like most Power Metal bands.

Almost all of them are cheesy are some levels though.

I just don't think Tarot has that Power Metal feel to it. Power Metal makes me feel dorky, relaxed, and gives me a good time. Straight up metal like Tarot makes me feel like a total bad ***.
