A band doesn't have to be damn original or the best ever for me to like them, but at least not the same as 45687463097 other bands. Even more so though, I'm just really over the genre and get easily bored by it.

I was just reading in Revolver that God Forbid's coming out with a new album soon (I don't know how soon but it said they'd been working on it for about a year now). It said they added alot of prog. elements to their sound (it said Tool and Opeth were their influences for that) and even some blast beats and black metal influences in it. So it sounds like they desperately wanna get this metalcore label off of them.

GF are decent, their last album had some good parts and some boring ones. i dont really think they have it in them to pull something off with the said influences

Whenever a band wants to get rid of their "metalcore" label, it means they lose their harsh vocals and turn into soft mainstream nu-metal

Ok I'm listening to it right now and the guy's melodic voice sounds like the guy from Fallout Boy. I do like the album, but his voice sounds very similar and he does similar vibrato. The band however sounds nothing like FoB, just the melodic vocals.

AOJB is excellent and End Of Heartache is decent I'd say.
