Postlapsaria is the best--it's very strong lyrically and probably their strongest musically. People jizz over Some Natures Catch No Plagues because the emotion is especially blatant. It's more emotional than most of their other songs and it has the whole "there is no happy here" part that is just very blatantly said and it makes people jizz all over the ceiling, or shoot blanks. Depending on how much you like it.
ROFL NICE PUN IN THERE WITH SHOOT BLANKS

But yeah, I agree: Postlapsaria is pure gold. That song is just amazing.

Cobert: Jizz.

Dawwww, shucks.

I dont think ive ever seen an actual thread on saetia, just discussion in here.

bottlerocket 05-20-2006 11:38 AM

It's because everyone is expected to know them...maybe not like them, but at least appreciate. :p

Even though they supposedly ripped off this band Anasarca...I've never heard Anasarca, though. I want to, though, but I don't know anyone that has their stuff.

bottlerocket 05-20-2006 11:48 AM

Mine are, in order:

Postlapsaria
An Open Letter
Adriene's Thread
From the Firmament
Roquentin
Endymion

I think...I'm not sure. :p

Thats probably one of my favorite lines in any song. Its just so perfect. The word 'pasture' sounds similar to 'future', 'picture', and 'past', so.....

"lost gray pictures of my past stain greener pastures of my future" is just phonetically perfect.

I have Anasarca. But they didn't really "rip off" Anasarca, rather Anasarca were an influence on them, which is what Jamie told me. You'll notice some slight similarities in their riffage but thats about it. Anasarca is basically another one of those 90's emo bands, like Native Nod-esque.

Cobert: Billy's good with his language.

Sep 05-20-2006 11:52 AM

Notres Langues Nous Trompent, Venus And Bacchus and Postlapsaria are really the only ones that stand out for me. The Sweetness And the Light is kinda cool too. Oh and An Open Letter.

cobert 05-20-2006 11:54 AM
Cobert: Billy's good with his language.
Yes, I see that.

Native Nod is radddddddd.

deadohiosky9 05-20-2006 12:00 PM
I honestly don't get why people jizz off over Some Natures Catch No Plagues so much.
I don't jizz over it, I just like hearing There is no happy here because it's funny.'

But yeah, *insert stuff about emotion here*

bottlerocket 05-20-2006 07:16 PM

Billy's awesome with words.

deadohiosky9 05-20-2006 07:29 PM

Gav, you are a high school graduate now. Congratulations.

Thanks, NeeshXCore. :D
Did he really?

Why?

You can get your GED and be fine.

cobert 05-20-2006 08:47 PM

Yeah, but its still pretty lame of him to drop out of highschool.

deadohiosky9 05-20-2006 08:51 PM

I'm sure he had his reasons. It's not our position to judge.

cobert 05-20-2006 08:54 PM

Well allright then.

Do you know what band I absolutely love?

Moss Icon. The only early emo i can seriously get into.

deadohiosky9 05-20-2006 09:00 PM

Moss Icon are one of my favorites. They are really an awesome band.

cobert 05-20-2006 09:02 PM

Yeah, most older emo just sounds too much like normal hardcore to me, and Moss Icon just feels different from the rest of them.

deadohiosky9 05-20-2006 09:26 PM

Moss Icon are really unique. They have awesome lyrics...if you go to songmeanings you can read most of em.

cobert 05-20-2006 09:41 PM

It seems like some of those lyrics are incomplete. I distinctly remember a part in "Im back sleeping or fuc'king of something" (the raddddest song ever) that said somehting about 'remembering sitting on a park bench with your sister', and a lot more stuff about a fire and sitting in the back of a truck. But they still close in most places.

deadohiosky9 05-20-2006 11:52 PM

Most of their lyrics are improvised as well...so its not really very organized. They are just like "whatever" and incredibly ADD.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-21-2006 12:09 AM

Rites of Spring are probrally my favorite 80's emo band.

deadohiosky9 05-21-2006 12:43 AM

For Want Of is such a good song.

Concubine 05-21-2006 02:40 AM

haven't heard Moss Icon

/searching for their mp3s

vocman 05-21-2006 02:53 AM

IMO One Dying wish is still the best Saetia song. Especially the 'when did 'we' begin' part. It builds up quite nicely

"I was turning over with the sheets facing the arched back, thinking of how my eyes, half opened, caught her arm moving from side to side, but never to me."

That's why.

Sep 05-21-2006 10:42 AM

Point taken.

Matt? 05-21-2006 11:17 AM

closed hands is easily my favorite saetia song.

That part always makes me laugh, the screams just sound so bad.

deadohiosky9 05-21-2006 02:07 PM

finchevelle73: and I thought it was you

cobert 05-21-2006 02:12 PM

Oooooh, goody, I guess Chris is back from his trip.

One Dying Wish makes me giggle, all the screams in that song are funny. Billy sounds like Gollum in some parts, I swear.
