Hey cool guy.

I listened to some Bob Dylan while I read comic books today. It was too foggy to go outside.*

Stock, Hausen, and Walkmen - Giving Up With Stock, Hausen, and Walkman

Weird tape experiment stuff. Sixty tracks of nuttiness.

But cool.

Do you like the Tape-Beatles? They sound similar to what you described.

Tonight I'm chilling out to some Air, and stuff on mix CD's I'm making for my friends.

Robert Crumb 12-16-2005 08:32 PM

Nujabes' Modal Soul now. This thing is swell. I'm loving the "Ordinary Joe" track. I used another version of the song for my soul feature genre in the other forum. He should make an album with Callier, it's a brilliant take.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-16-2005 08:36 PM

This A Few Old Tunes cassette rip thing I'm listening to is so good, I'm surprised it hasn't been released on CD.

pixiesfanyo 12-16-2005 08:48 PM

High on Fire - Blessed Black Wings

I have a feeling I'll be digging Yusef after this. Because it's so hard on the ears.

Anxious 12-16-2005 08:49 PM

The song " I saw an X-ray of a Girl Passing Gas" by the Butthole Surfers.

Good, fIREHOSE is good stuff.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-17-2005 02:47 AM

Yeah, it is. I like the bass player a lot.

As for me, it's a Squarepushery/cheesy 90s music night.

OrbDragon 12-17-2005 03:23 AM

I'm digging The Unicorns alot...I totally dug them and I despised the fact that they seperated. I'm also quite fond of "Phantom Power" by The Super Furry Animals...theyre a great band in my opinion. Is it just me or does the intro of "Hello Sunshine" resemble Elysian Fields (the band) almost exactly?

MissAntarctica is pretty good. They are a half english/half dutch band thay are way too good to be just popular in Holland. They are comparable to Wheat, Radiohead and Pedro The Lion...but they stand on their own. I'm diggin their debut "Lost Electricty".

YDload 12-17-2005 03:54 AM
Yeah, it is. I like the bass player a lot.

Hmm now who could that be?

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-17-2005 04:05 AM

Mike Watt, duh. :p

Sonic Youth - Evol

Dave Brockie Expereince - Songs For The Wrong

It's just so stupid and immature that I love almost every single second of it. God bless the boys in GWAR for doing a forming a non-costumed band on the side. Recommended to the lowliest of the low brows.

BillCosby 12-17-2005 12:14 PM

Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose
Against Me! - As The Eternal Cowboy
The Fall of Troy - Doppelganger

Bukowski 12-17-2005 02:11 PM

Sonic Youth - Goo

Sure, it's no Sister, it's no BMR, it's no Daydream Nation, but it's still a really good album in my opinion. The first 5 songs are all awesome.

Daniel! 12-17-2005 02:45 PM

Sublime - Sublime

This is a fun record.

YDload 12-17-2005 03:41 PM
Sublime - Sublime

Indeed. Apparently this band gets a bad rap because most of their fans are idiots/stoners/both, but they've got a great range of styles to play around with and Brad Nowell was a great guitarist. Plus they beat 311 any day, partially because they're not still around and making the same record five times.

Bukowski 12-17-2005 03:45 PM

It's easily Sublime's best, i think. And yeah, Brad was a great guitarist, as songs like the Under my Voodoo prove. Damn that song is great.

Daniel! 12-17-2005 03:53 PM

Brian Jonestwon Massacre - Thank God For Mental Illness
It's easily Sublime's best, i think.
Yep.

YDload 12-17-2005 03:58 PM

Under My Voodoo is their best song, especially when people hear it and they don't expect that kind of goodness. Also, Pawn Shop is

Daniel! 12-17-2005 04:02 PM

Badfish will always be my favorite Sublime song.

Bukowski 12-17-2005 04:06 PM

Garden Grove is another great song, but i think they dragged it on a little long. Their self-titled is full of awesomeness, though.

Badfish is probably my favorite on 40 Oz, that or Date Rape, although i'll always dig that little Minutemen soundclip at the start of the album.

No no, it's not.

Do you guys know the entire catalogue? Sublime is a very good album, but not their best.

YDload 12-17-2005 05:25 PM

yeah i had a beer with brad and eric and it was tight yo. then we smoked a bowl and i watch brad shoot up but politely declined to join him. also i got to pet lou dog

br3ad_man 12-17-2005 05:26 PM

I like his singing more than his guitarring.

diezelpower 12-17-2005 05:38 PM

metric ( but only the first album, their sound went to hell on the second one )

BillCosby 12-17-2005 05:59 PM
Garden Grove is another great song, but i think they dragged it on a little long. Their self-titled is full of awesomeness, though.
Garden Grove the song > Garden Grove the city
