Different alright, but not bad

It took me a few listens to get acclimated to

FatalEnergy 02-23-2008 04:30 PM

Best BM Riff = Enter the Eternal Fire

RetiredAt21 02-23-2008 06:08 PM

I still can't figure out my favorite BM riff...maybe "Massacre Song From The Devastated Lands" or "Totenkrieg"...I really like the riff in "Strafgericht", too.

RetiredAt21 02-23-2008 09:38 PM

Does anyone like Light Am I? Pretty cool dark ambient stuff.

EDIT: and their black metal stuff isn't bad either. Pretty ****ing awesome, actually.
Oh, completely forgot.
Drugs'll do that to ya :thumb:

This isn't my pick for best BM riff but it's still kind of up there even though I don't really like Amesoeurs. (Bonheur Ampute, changeup riff)

Can't think of any really good ones right now, maybe Equimanthorn or Det Som Engang Var, or I Troldskog Faren Vild. Those are pretty common choices but for good reason.

Dark ambient stuff like what?

RetiredAt21 02-23-2008 09:45 PM

I'm not sure what to compare it to. Maybe some of the better LLN dark ambient stuff...maybe, I dunno, I'm high.

daddy 02-23-2008 09:48 PM

I love that you inform us when you are.

I need weed. :(

RetiredAt21 02-23-2008 09:50 PM

Well, I'm just saying I'm not as smart when I'm high. I cannot take responsibility for some of the dumb **** I say when I am.

FatalEnergy 02-23-2008 10:09 PM

Silly pole....er... pot smoker

RetiredAt21 02-23-2008 10:13 PM

Does I Troldskog Faren Vild count as black metal? It's like ... too folk and stuff

(I dunno if the lyrics are really typical of BM either; they're in archaic Danish, so I can hardly understand what they're saying.)

Anyone dig Vreid?

I've been spinning "I Krig" quite a bit lately. The cowbell in Jarnbyrd is complete lulz.

1338 h4x0r 02-24-2008 01:21 PM

I looked at their myspace

Pretty good

RetiredAt21 02-24-2008 02:38 PM

Are Forgotten Darkness any good?

1338 h4x0r 02-24-2008 02:49 PM
okay so i just got a listen at this band amesoeurs, who apparently include neige from alcest
I've never heard anything quite like them tbh

You'd probably like Ulver if you haven't heard them tho

1338 h4x0r 02-24-2008 03:07 PM

SIEG HEIL

Silenius 02-24-2008 03:22 PM

Vreid are cool, but I think Mistur is the best post-windir band with ex-windir members.

Stormrider 02-24-2008 03:24 PM
Are Forgotten Darkness any good?
Yeah, I like them. I've heard all their releases except the demo. The newest is quite good, but the vocal mixing is a bit awkward at times.

1338 h4x0r 02-24-2008 03:24 PM

RIP Valfar

Aakon_Keetreh 02-24-2008 03:51 PM

I dont care what you ****s think, but the new belphegor song is ****ing awesome.

publicastration 02-24-2008 04:37 PM

link?

I'm sure it's pretty cool, but they really need to work on their album and song titles.

daddy 02-24-2008 04:38 PM
okay so i just got a listen at this band amesoeurs, who apparently include neige from alcest

this style of music is something i really enjoy, any other reccomendations to similar bands?
not my thing, except for the song Bonheur Ampute. But if you want more Niege-esque stuff, just look into his other projects Alcest and Mortifera. Celestia might be another one to check out, since I remember there was a Celestia cover on that Mortifera album.

RIP brother Valfar

I wish you could rep my real account, I'm obviously not taking this one very seriously.
