I don't like them at all, honestly. I don't really know what it is about them that turns me off.
|
Really? I love them. They're on of the few screamo(?) bands that I actually like aside from CTTS.
|
i think that they're hard to listen to a lot of the time
|
Eh, I think they're really out there and they're really pushing the boundaries of post-hardcore/emo/whatever. They're all really good at their instruments and they create these awesome buildups. They really live up to their psychadelic self-label.
NP: "The Illusion Of The End" This song is so good. |
I like Gospel.
I always thought nintendocore was a joke, until some chick i know said to her friend that Atom and His Package were raelly 'nintendocore'. I was all like 'oh snap lawlz' and she still had a serious face. |

Do not use the term "screamo" or the wrath of the Neeshee will be felt. Whenever he wakes up, that is. |
I screamo'd your mom last night.
|
the wrath of neeshee is like the fatality in mk2 where the guy gets his spine ripped out.
|
When the lizard dude stuck out his tongue and ate your head. That ruled. Or when scorpion took off his mask and just firebreathed your whole body.
|
kick out the skramz
i was never skilled enough to do fatalities, but i still even enjoyed them being done to me i'm gonna play that game again so i can learn all of them |
Babality >>>>>>>> all else.
I accidentally did a fatality playing against my dad once. |
the live xiu xiu bootleg i was d/l finally finished and it is excelent
ahhh need to see them live! this bootleg is like their albums times the square root of an orgasm |
hahahahahahahahahahaha

I just really like Gospel because of the whole moody psychedelic atmosphere their music has. Like Cb said, they are really pushing the boundaries of the genre. I also like their laid back and spontaneous approach to lyrics/vocals. It's awesome.
And deathscreamingsheep, screamo is not a genre. It is jsut a shi'tty term and does not constitute any basis for being a real genre. |
I downloaded Underoath's new album out of curiosity and I'm not sure what to think yet...I'm on track 2 and they have a very The Bled-type breakdown at the end...

It is, but "screamo" is an absolutely terrible term.
|
screamo is tight
|
It is, but "screamo" is an absolutely terrible term.
Yeah, i always thought that was corny, especially since it is technically short for "screamotional hardcore". |
I always thought screamo was the chaotic emo from the 90's?
No. That's emo. |
There is no screamo...only emo. Screamo was invented because people took emo and applied it to like The Get Up Kids (who are still good, by the way).
Amirite? emo = screamo and screamo = emo? By the way, I've decided new Underoath sucks. One song sounds just like Norma Jean (In Regards to Self is the title, I think). Lame! -Gav |
EpilepticBunny: urwrong };
pwn3d I thought emo and screamo were the same thing... -Gav |
new underoath rocks
I always thought screamo was the chaotic emo from the 90's?
I think you what you mean is that screamo is the chaotic form of 90's emo, and the answer is no. Emo is a constantly evolving genre, even today you can't say there is a specific sound to it. We have bands like Ampere, and Hot Cross, and Gospel who all sound soo different, but are still considered to be a part of the same scene and genre. Similarly there were a few bands who took on a more chaotic approach in the scene, and for some reason we have decided to call that "screamo" and any band that exists during and after these chaotic bands are also labeled "screamo", and then "screamo" is viewed as the new "emo". This is false. Emo changes, that doesn't constitute a new genre, its mostly an innovative genre so to make subgenres from "emo" would be absolutely ridiculous and unecessarily time consuming. So there was some bands who took on a more screamy-chaotic approach, big deal. So there are bands now that take on a more technical approach, do they need a genre? We have bands that like to use viola or violin in songs, does that mean we need a subgenre for them too? As you can see..its just utterly ridiculous. |
Neeshee ftw <3
rememberthis: No...leave. -Gav |
why should i
|
<3 Gav. And rememberthis, Underoath are not a hardcore related band, have you read the RULES thread or attempted to educate yourself about this genre?
EDIT: You should leave if you are only going to make irrelevant posts and not attempt to learn about this genre. |
underoath is emo
|
why should i
You should leave because you know nothing about hardcore or any bands related to it and consistently post about bands who are unrelated to the genre and spam. |
