goodnight

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 08-23-2009 07:04 AM

my weekend

i went to the pub on friday night and some guy asked me to join his band......his singer is the first lead singer of iron maiden who was never on any albums and he got heaps poopty when i asked him for some free t-shirts after i said no i would not join his band.

and last night i went to my mates 18th and slept in my car and hooked up with some chick who was apparently a plus sized model

gaslight 08-23-2009 07:10 AM

Haha gross. Or is "plus size" in model terms a normal kind of size?

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 08-23-2009 07:12 AM

she wasn't all that bad looking and she wasn't overly large either

gaslight 08-23-2009 07:16 AM

Not a glowing assessment but not too shabby either.

Kudos.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 08-23-2009 07:21 AM

i thought i did pretty well for myself lol

or maybe i was just heaps drunk

gaslight 08-23-2009 07:38 AM

A girl is a girl at the end of the day, just leave "plus size" out of the story and you're golden for life.

Aaron 08-23-2009 05:01 PM

Size 12 - 14 is the ideal size apparently. I have a soft spot for, erm, soft ones.

thats quite a claim, was he arrogant about telling everyone?

"oh hey yeah I was that iron maiden guy you just never knew me"

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 08-23-2009 07:33 PM

he was pretty arrogant. he laughed at me when i said i had a gig at the bar on the hill at newcastle uni.

i then laughed at him back and said 'at least i have a gig and a bass player'

but i did do some research, the first lead singer from iron maiden now lives in newcastle (about 40 minutes away from my place) and is in 2 bands.

but i couldn't find any connection between Paul Mario Day (the singer) and Jeffrey Logan (the drunk idiot who reckons he could play drums)

"may the catfight be with you"

Aes820 08-23-2009 11:24 PM

Fireworks now banned in the ACT.

This means that we will no longer be allowed to buy and set off those pretty display crackers on one night a year, that all the kids love.

But of course will still be able to get the illegal ones illegally, and blow up our hands/neighbours mailbox/small animals like we always have.

Or, go to Dickson street during the Chinese new year and set off whatever you want.

I just can't get behind it.

Aaron 08-24-2009 12:25 AM

Thanks mang.

Jim 08-24-2009 01:03 AM

two questions, aaron;

1. did you get the job?
2. what is the job?

gaslight 08-24-2009 01:09 AM

Did you mention your experimental music project in the interview?

Jim 08-24-2009 01:16 AM

it's about deez cats and they fight on hotdogz

but it doesn't sound like it though

MONEY NAU

gaslight 08-24-2009 01:23 AM

Where is your cactus man from? He reminds me of these dudes from some China Mieville novels.

Jim 08-24-2009 01:26 AM

final fantasy. it's called cactuar.

yeah i'm lame :(

RPGs are awesome man never be ashamed.

The ones in his books are called Cactacae. Awesome trilogy of books - Perdido Street Station, The Scar, Iron Council. Best series I've ever read.

Meatplow 08-24-2009 01:44 AM
Did you mention your experimental music project in the interview?
according to him he lists himself as a music producer on his resume
final fantasy. it's called cactuar.

yeah i'm lame :(
I remember the giant cactuar fight on cactuar island in FF8 was awesome

gaslight 08-24-2009 01:50 AM

Haha well there's no reason he can't.

If I wanted to stretch things I could call myself a music teacher, performing/recording artist, composer, producer, recording engineer, all kinds of crap.

Aaron 08-24-2009 03:27 AM

My CV does have in it that I'm a music composer and producer, lol.
two questions, aaron;

I've got to do some reporting for it yet, but I'm feeling pretty confident.
It's a Senior Business Analyst role.

Chu 08-24-2009 03:31 AM

Well done Aaron. :chug:

gaslight 08-24-2009 03:31 AM

Do you reckon jobs unrelated to music are impressed by music roles? 'Cause they're about the only prior experience I can cite on my own ones.

Aaron 08-24-2009 03:34 AM

Apparently so. Apparently creativity means you're an intuitive worker. I put it in the final page of my CV under "personal interests."

Aaron 08-24-2009 03:35 AM
Well done Aaron. :chug:
Thanks Chu!

gaslight 08-24-2009 03:40 AM

Well, fair play to that. Most of my brain is geared towards figuring out how to do things when they need to be done and that's my approach to music too.

Aaron 08-24-2009 03:41 AM

Word.

In finance there's a lot of people who don't think of their feet, but have fantastic minds. They generally look for the ones who can do things quickly.

Aaron 08-24-2009 03:44 AM

My reference is from the principal for an investment bank in direct competition with the people i work for lol

gaslight 08-24-2009 03:48 AM

Thinking on your feet is the Australian way.
