Waiting for mine to arrive in the mail still. Not going to plunder it as I'm on my folks slow internet.

Can't wait to see them (twice) in March.
Nice, do you know if they're doing a full Australian tour? It would be awesome if they came over here.

I wouldn't hold my breath, but you never know.

I had a ticket and airfares to see them in Adelaide with Portal but had to sell them cheap to a friend, as I got a new job. :(

Tyler 02-05-2009 02:49 AM

that is the smallest joshmay avatar i have seen in my tenure here

jrowa001 02-05-2009 12:54 PM

joshmay 02-05-2009 01:51 PM
Get the self titled.
It's awesome and twisted.

I'm quite curious about the 'new' album too.
But I'm yet to hear it.
Ah that sucks, I've heard Portal are pretty good. Here's hoping they come around here anyway.

I like it just that little bit more than Dooom, it's such a good album (as I'm sure you already know).

ATM 02-07-2009 08:33 PM

Might have booked Wino for an acoustic set \m/

pate 02-07-2009 09:06 PM

Ftw!!!

ATM 02-07-2009 09:34 PM

Missed his show tonight which sucks, but hopefully this works out.

FatalEnergy 02-08-2009 12:48 AM

That would be epic.

Time 02-08-2009 12:53 PM

I saw him last night, it was pretty sick

ATM 02-08-2009 01:00 PM

Nice! I wanted to go to that but I had a birthday party to go to.

Time, you should come check out some of the shows I put on. Bethesda isnt far from College Park.

FatalEnergy 02-08-2009 01:12 PM

Anyone else dig Graves At Sea?

RetiredAt21 02-08-2009 01:13 PM
Anyone else dig Graves At Sea?
I love them. The split with Asunder is great. "Pariah" is such a great song.

jrowa001 02-08-2009 01:21 PM

Mirror of Deception anyone?

Nostalgia 02-08-2009 01:23 PM

Hell yeah. I only have Shards, but I love the fact it's not your typical, slow, drawn out doom. It's really interesting, the tone of the vocals + how melodic they are makes for a great sound.

pate 02-08-2009 01:26 PM

Mirror of Deception is good.

jrowa001 02-08-2009 01:30 PM

yeah Shards is the album of theirs that i have and i really enjoyed it. listening to it again right now. ive heard their previous albums were better though, need to get on those

FatalEnergy 02-08-2009 01:39 PM
I love them. The split with Asunder is great. "Pariah" is such a great song.
Yeah, that split is great.

I'm waiting for Asunder to put out some new material.

RetiredAt21 02-08-2009 01:43 PM
Yeah, that split is great.

I'm waiting for Asunder to put out some new material.
Yeah, that'd be sweet. I hope it's better than Works Will Come Undone, not that it's bad I just felt like it was a step down from A Clarion Call.

FatalEnergy 02-08-2009 04:39 PM

Have any of you heard Elysian Blaze - Blood Geometry?

Supposedly it came out last year, but I can't track it down at all. Seems like no one can.

dUSK 02-09-2009 02:36 AM

I'm pretty sure it hasn't been released yet. There's nothing about it mentioned by EB's label.
"Pariah" is such a great song.
Truth.

FatalEnergy 02-09-2009 03:34 AM

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to it.

The tracklisting up on M-A, shows that it has 2 discs and a bunch of 20-30 minutes songs.

Should be epic.

dUSK 02-09-2009 04:19 AM

Are you the bloke who mentioned starting a band in the same vein a few months ago? Ever get it off the ground?

FatalEnergy 02-09-2009 04:58 AM

Well, I am in a Doom band, but I wouldn't say we sound so much like Elysian Blaze. We only have two songs written and one of them has some black metal riffs but it's more Asunder/Ahab-ish than anything.

I'm more a black metal guy myself, and I'm getting more and more of that influence in the music, so who knows? We could have some stuff that is comparable at some point.

New Doom:VS album rules.

gmoneyguy 02-09-2009 01:28 PM
New Doom:VS album rules.
Never had a chance to get into those guys but I keep seeing their name on the forum. Which album should I start with?

gmoneyguy 02-09-2009 01:46 PM

Aeternum Vale

Tyler 02-09-2009 02:02 PM

I agree with this. Hopefully there's no 25 minutes of random meaningless ambiance.

rasputin 02-09-2009 07:29 PM

definitely go with Aeternum Vale, the new one was really average

Kickass. You're going to be the next member of the Pentagram revolving door parade.

ATM 03-07-2009 01:07 AM

Pentagram tomorrow :D

ATM 03-08-2009 01:23 PM

Alright so the show last night was amazing. I missed Serpent's Throne because I was in the parking lot.

Moonshine (Baltimore doom) were playing when I got inside. They are a cool band with a female vocalist.

Next up was Devil's Blood who I couldn't really get into. They were more of a traditional doom band and also had a female vocalist.

Then, Priestess played. I saw them before opening for Mastodon. They were pretty good but played WAY too long. Everyone just wanted to hear Pentagram.

ATM 03-08-2009 01:26 PM

Finally Pentagram hit the stage!

The crowd was going nuts. The set list was:

Wheel of Fortune
Forever My Queen
Review Your Choices
Walk in the Blue Light
Take No More (new song written with Gary)
Petrified
Lazy Lady
All Your Sins
Earth Flight
South of the Swamp(new song written with Russ)
20 Buck Spin

Encore
Sign of the Wolf
When the Screams Came

Bobby was running around like a madman. He had so much energy. The whole band were on their game and the crowd was singing along to every word.

Best show I've ever seen, by far.

pate 03-08-2009 02:48 PM

Awesome. Glad they came through.
